Is it the OPTIMAL use of the item? Yes. Is it ABUSE of the item? Absolutely.

What I MEANT is that the Dead Ringer's intended use is to make a sneaky getaway. Good spies use it like... Invincibility frames, effectively. It's not a Sneaky Flavorful Item to them, it's a mario mushroom.
Again. Not saying that there's anything wrong with this. If people abuse items, it is the devs fault for creating an item that can be abused.

OK I know its really late now, but context time:
I was the owl sniper with the tree hat in this video and halfway through the game a switched to pyro and did kill him many times but he didn't show that in the video ofc. I had to switch back to sniper tho cause his friend was playing sniper and was destroying our team. When I said I "shot to kill" it was because he was getting so salty I was body shotting him. So we did spycheck and he did get killed many times its just that he didn't show that in the video cause it would of been boring obviously.

Well, he's making it so they can't have fun. Since they can't do anything to stop him normally, they use diplomacy. Since he's having fun, they only have one healthy option: ragequitting. It's not a bad thing, you should remember, to quit a game if you don't enjoy it.

either a) literally turn around every few seconds/have some gamesense, b) learn how to airblast with pyro, c)k e e p d i s t a n c e when fighting a spy, d) use voice commands to callout for spies, ETC ETC
or just be in an Asian server, those guys can sniff out spies like they belong in a K9 unit or something

There is no reason to continue playing if you don't like what's going on. Despite this, people are going to say that rage quitting, a healthy action, is a bad thing and should have the actioner made fun of. This remains a silly idea to me. What I don't get is why he even plays spy in pubs. the difference level in skill is like a mountain falling down on their heads. Once he enters their game they have no chance of winning and he has no chance of losing. The skill difference is just too big.
there's no question of if you will win or lose there's a question of whether or not he'll go on a dominating 20 kill streak or a 30 kill streak before the match ends, so why does he pub spy? it certainly isn't a challenge for him?
