Uta was Uta, Kaylas not a clone.......... She's an incredible talent, looking forward to their work with her in the future.
+James Parsons Yeah she is so young and has such a skilled voice, i am also really curious about the new album!
She’s hot but her voice is what made me fall in love
Yeah this became agressive doom metal very epic 😮😮
Lotta negative remarks. I don't get it. This new vocalist is hardly a poser. She's just has a very different - and, frankly, more polished and powerful - delivery. Uta was great. But what made her great was how raw and unself-conscious she was. Now, however, we're on the other end of the spectrum - self-command and bold self-assertion. If certain individuals hadn't previously become enamored of Uta, they would find no fault with the latest Witch Mountain lineup. I'm looking forward to seeing the band tonight in Utah.
stoner comes(ultimately) from blues. we are not used to have voices that rich and nuanced. but it used to be more like that. the voices of deep purple, led zeppelin and even black sabbath (the mother of us all) were pretty closer than we are now to their blues influence.
Sounds great to us. Love it. IT's got some soul.
One of the best live metal/stoner rock tracks I've ever seen.
I can't stop watching and listening. This is a really really good live performance. What a band! Kayla Dixon has a beautiful raging storm of a voice. She lets her whole body sing. I saw her perform with Clouds in the Netherlands and it was goosebumps alll over.
Wow! what a great singer!
Today, I purchased the exact bass played at this concert. It plays amazingly, and it still has the custom pickguard.
She's great....Uta was incredible....but this new singer is also fucking talented!!!
Incredible!
Everyone's talking about the vocalist but the guitarist is killing it ...
Damn the power in her voice.. love it!
New singer is awesome. Very talented. I like her better.
Saw them open for The Skull a few years ago at One Eyed Jacks in new Orleans. Had no idea what WM was about...Kayla took the place over and destroyed every last soul in there. One of the best performances I've ever seen.
Im a Security Officer at the BEST-BUY THEATER in NYC [[Now The Play Station Theater]] I got to see and meet this incredible band. I have to admit that MOST of the bands who perform there are nothing to write home about but WITCH MOUNTAIN was one of the very few exceptions. Uta is an incredible vocalist and I was blown away by her the moment she and the band assaulted the stage. I got to meet and talk with them after their performance,we discussed other bands in the music scene like RUSH, Steve Vai,Jeff Beck, PINK FLOYD etc...It was such a positive conversation that they gave me a free album [CD]. The only constructive criticizism I could give them is that all of their songs are in mid-tempo I would suggest do some fast do some slow as well as mix it up. But their a GREAT band so please keep ROCKIN'
fuckin great band... i love her performance at vocals. The band its awesome
Epic!
Good vocalist. Good to have intelligible lyrics.
Witch Mountain gets after it. Both female singers rocked!! South of Salem is easily one of thee best doom metal releases of all time. The new vocalist feels it, love her style...
Holy shit... She's one cool AF singer. Everyone's super fucking cool. Loving the instrumentation.
Has a real bluesy sound to it. I wanna hear more.
This singer is badass!
nice, love her high notes.
Another year, another bass player. Witch Mountain are ace!
Ha ha, three years later and I'm still here! Oh shit, I think I hear a clock ticking...
Mr. Billy Goate nails it again! Amazing stuff, killer footage! //Chris
..... Holy fuck......
This was awesome to see live. Easily one of my favorite concerts - awesome bands at an awesome location.
very please to meet her. she did a splendid performance
This is what "stellar performance" looks like.
awesome band...awesome vocals...awesome live.
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
awesome
great voice
great band
I saw them at the Portland Maine date of the Danzig fall tour. goddamn this is such an under appreciated band!
Very underrated band. Great Vocals.
This is Fucking Awesome!
Damn! Those are some incredible psychedelic blues leads by Mr wrong. Plus they have this soulful banshee and blues has never sounded better!😯
love it!!!!
impresionanteee lo que canta esa mujer !
shout out to samsara blues experiment for turning me on to this ... great stuff.
I like Kayla, but she definitely has a different vocal approach than Uta. Uta really had sense for the sublime and flow. Kayla is a lot more brash, but I feel sometimes it is a bit too much (but she really hits the gutturals). Still looking forward to new material.
i love your music please come to mexico
YES.
Woman taking over Doom🤘🏻
Awesome
I have the Uta albums on CD, but really like the "new" singer too. I hope they've released something with her singing. I will investigate.
1:57 woman is straight fire. then falls right back in rhythm. Straight to the heart
🖤🤘🏿🔥
I need a new album!
Yeahh shes good
Simple: Uta : Witch Mountain = Ozzy : Black sabbath Kayla : Witch Mountain = ronnie James Dio : Black sabbath Both different, both great!
That's EXACTLY how we in the band feel. Cheers!
I met her I person last night in Vegas at Rob Zombie concert.
I think shes a damn fine singer.
Damn. Saw Witch Mountain in Finland with Cough, I dunno, maybe in 2014. It was intense. Loved that the band was really playing their arses off and had fun. After the gig spoke with the drummer. Felt like a really nice guy. What's up with this band now, still touring and/or making awesome music?
6,66 k abonnés 😈😈😈
Kayla Dixon gets it done.
helllllll yeah
This is great. Nice to see a little of soul/r n' b in the voice. The only other heavy band with that flavor I knew was Vodun. But being a doom/stoner fan this sounds way better to me than Vodun. [by the way, when a new genre comes up, there is a movement of followers that will narrow and refine the specific sound. once that happens, all sorts of bastardization, mixing, fusion happens. and that's absolutely great! we wouldn't have incredible bands like "Earth" and "OM" if their musicians just stick to the plan]
Miss the old, like the new.
Kayla is fucking bad ass... I'm just curious how must feel to sing other people's songs. Not just technically, but obviously Uta's lyrics were from her experiences, personality, all that. Not to say Dixon and Uta can't share experiences or feelings, but to embody and sing these lyrics has to be a personal thing. She seems into it, but right now I'm assuming fans, for the most part, wanna hear all the old jams.
Figuring out what the song is about is not the same as interpreting the rhythmic flow and the poetic intention of the words and pauses.
There seems to have been some drama around Hovercraft amps recently, or so my friend was saying (I'd have to ask the folks at Old Town Music for more info). Is this why Yob and some other bigger doom bands weren't at Hoverfest II?
Uta 4ever the best....
I can see why they call this Stoner Rock! These folks are trippin"!
This is amazing. All my previous thoughts on the new vocalist, brought completely to shame!
K. Ellis,
She has the stage presence and range of King diamond not quite the piercing screams but hell King diamond can't even perform the piercing screams anymore he has to have backup female singers
6:20 shit thats all you had to say
cool.....the guitar ....bass and drums need to be louder
I love her voice! ♡... Is better than Uta in my opinion...
Tbh, I prefer this version to the original.
She gave me a wet dream
Uta was badass. But... I'm not sure about this girl.
Still, let's see how well she holds up in the studio. Gotta give her a chance. Besides, she seems to have a much more refined voice, though her subtlety could use some work. Still, she could give Myles Kennedy a run for her money with that belting
She's a great vocalist but holy shit Uta just fit the band so much better. :/
I really want to dig it, but fuck, man.
Chaosinferno825 see them live, in a small club. it will change your mind. she's amazing and the band sounds wonderful. nice people, too!
+Chaosinferno825 yes i agree. i listened to the audition of kayla, wasn't bad but this song, i'm not digging it at all!!! come back uta!!!! come back!!!!
Even on the albums Uta's vocals were just weak as shit when she was trying to sing high.
Kayla has a lot more versatility. Uta could sing in higher registers comfortably, but Kayla can transition far more easily between screams and clean vocals without losing her power in her delivery.
Both have their strengths, but I feel moving forward that Kayla is a better fit long-term. I do think her versatility opens more doors for the band as far as their sound is concerned.
Way better than Uta.
Shes far better than Uta, Move on.
She has potential, but overdoes the act too much. It loses its magic that way and becomes cartoony.
I kinda think doom needs that. It needs to be over the top and ridiculous. It creates an aura and abnormal energy, making it discomforting to witness live. Truly seeing her stare into your eyes as she brings such intense, raw, emotion behind the fantastic voice she provides, is a paranormal feeling to say the least.
Not Uta.
Sucks.
Female singer? So unnecessary...
Book these guys on 70000 tons!!!
