This is me, trying to cover "Sire Of Sin" by Cryptopsy. Kind of a tribute to Flo also, I did 2 tour recently, and I was super amazed by the way he sound in live condition.

Still...and to this day from the day i met him in may 1994 in lasalle(montreal) till sharing the stage with cryptopsy 5 times during various lineups with my old band kronosfear =2 with lord worm and years later with their temp fill in martin lacroix screaming hes always been in my top 4 as an influence- his chaotic(some say sloppy)style has so much going on.... like gospel drummer chops on steroids in my opinion and poke at him if you wish their are not many drummers who can pull it off= his nuances and kinda bizarre note placements can pass by the ears but not mine...yikes Kevin.... awesome performance!!!thank you honestly cheers from canada
My band supported Cryptopsy once. Flo seems like a nice guy. Was pretty amazing to see them in a tiny venue with about 50 people.
To be honest, one of the nicest dude I've meet, I like his approach, I like the energy, it was very important for me to meet him in my recent career.
Nice to see someone who can actually play Cryptopsy drumming, because tbh, everyone has a boner for Flo and he doesn't deserve it. He writes creative parts, I'll give him that. But he's the sloppiest god damned shit I've ever seen in my life, every video, every time I've seen him.
Anyone who can cover a Cryptopsy song is a beast. I love Flo Monier drumming

lol, when Kevin is "cheating" with the switch "Dirk" blast you know it is fast (Flo plays them without switching). Nevertheless, amazing drumming. I wouldn't even be able to do it on half the speed. Flo is such an amazingly fast and creative drummer. And so is Kevin.

@@RubenSprng Yeah, he has bass drum & toms & snare triggered. Nothing really wrong with it, makes for really easy recording but doesn't sound as good imo.

Lets not be disrespectful to Flo. I don't see how this is "better", but it's certainly excellent. Remember, Flo was the creative one who actually wrote these parts, which is the most impressive thing. Not to mention that tne final section doesn't have the intricate footwork.

@@maartenvalentin4162 Calling him "shabby af" is pushing it. He may not be the cleanest player live, but he is most certainly clean enough. Flo, like any other drummer who has played the same song a thousand times, likes to improvise live. Yes I have seen him. The difference between Flo and other drummers of this ilk is that Flo writes amazing drum parts, unlike say Kollias, who are extremely one dimensional in my opinion. I'd take guys like Flo, Tony Laureano and Longstreth any day of the week.
Anyway I'm not here to argue, but calling Flo sloppy live is also pretty disrespectful. The man had a huge hand in pioneering this shit. Don't judge him based off a few shitty live recordings. Flo is Flo, and Flo is the man.
