Beautiful 👍👍
Get some 4 inch screw in bungs for the bottom drains filll with water to test joints and leave water in pipes when you pour concrete so drains dont float up .
hi james looking good think all the time so you dont regret it later your doing well it's going to look good regards stormy the old koi boy
wow its fine to out .see around keep safe.done my support.jave nice day.godbless.
Do a slight dry mix of concrete over your bottom drain pipe work it will stop things moving when you do your big pour
100% one of the most important things. If done right you won't need to put any weight directly on the bottom drains when pouring the base. just rely on the dry concrete holding them 👍
Word of warning, weigh down your drains with a couple of blocks when you go to pour your concrete or they will more than likely move.
Great update, your a machine buddy, and so lucky the wife fully supports you.
Cracking update mucker.... proper grafting on now 👌👍🐟
Don't forget someway of purging or rodding your bottom drains James. No matter how much your pulling through the 4 inch lines you will get settlement and teeth in there. Great progress again. Thanks for the update and longer video. Cheers.
Hello Simon. Can you please explain your comment in more details. I am eager to understand that better. Regards
Quality video again James LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT ONE
Bin looking forward to the video all week. Coming along now, slow and steady & do it properly. Thank your mother for the rabbits! 🐇

I know av been quite but am still here buddy LOL Loving watching the new pond taking shape. Can't wait see to it finished. Thank ya mother for the Rabbits 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇
Great job James. It will look brill
Well done on 10k subs,
Looking good - When i built my pond i wished id had the air line plastic pipes an inch or two over water level height. If ever you need to work on the air lines etc you know it wont flood or back syphon. You can use one way valves etc but - just a thought & piece of mind. Brings back memories - keep up the great work & thank your mother for the rabbit!!!!!!!
Well done on 10k subs thank your mother for the rabbits 🐇 get on boooyyyyy
Happy days, be worth it in the end, can’t to see the final results 👍👍👍❤️
10 kkkkk kkkkk !!!! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Whisperer!! And kids too.
THANKS MATE
Drill the hole in the drain! Else it gets vacuum sucked and if you ever need to clean your drain and pull the top off you break of the pipe. Happened to a lot of people! Please read this :)
Looking good so far! Thanx for the content, enjoying it!
This is why I am asking been told both ways ?????
@@JamesTHEKOIwhisperer123 I also did it with my own pond, it can only get vacuum if there is air between. So you cant go wrong drilling a small hole there. You dont want to empty the whole pond if one of the drains need to be cleaned.
Or worse break your drain trying to pull it out underwater. But dont worry, the drains almost never get full unless you get lots of algae.
James.....fantastic job bud, your enthusiasm is brilliant... you will end up with the most fantastic pond ...Your an inspiration to us all....keep the good work up...and ..go on the hammer...🤣👍👍
Looking forward to seeing up and running ..patience is the virtue and getting it right ...good luck with it all ..
Go on boy nearly 10k 😉 thank your mother for the rabbits.
Use 45 bends instead of 90s much better flow rate to pick up that muck.
Hope this helps 😉
Not if you use long radius 90 degree rest bends. Or ever 3x30 degree because if you use 2x45 degree then close but them your extending the bend. Even using single socket so one male end one female end you square of the bend then with 3x30 degree you put two flat bends.
Great video James your doing a great job , looking forward to your next video.
Hi mate, just remember that your finished water height will only be as high as bottom of your skimmer.
10k congratulations!!!! Keep up the good work...
Keep up the good work you are doing a great job.
Looking well James and I have done loads of ponds I level the bottom the same way as you are doing
Good job :) but use 2x 45 degrees bend where the bottemdrains go up,insteed of 1 90 the angle is way better for the dirt. ;)
Would a slow bend 90 be better?
@@farmergoggin2102 Could also indeed ;)
Winner winner chicken dinner. Looks awesome mate 👍🏻
TO RIGHT MATE
Been waiting whole week on your update james hello from South Africa ...mr rabbit
Absolutely brilliant I really enjoyed this video the pond going to look class I am going to be honest James I didn’t want this video to end 😀👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Nice to see what you are doing !
4 inches concrete is enough. Some steel mesh if it scare you, save a few £££ quid on materials. You should been saying I'm a digger I'm a digger 😆. Why you not got mini digger? X 3 your square meterage and that roughly how much comes out. Make sure you drainage if full of water b4 concrete and leave to test. 90s bends ok but better 45s bends easier flow and to run rods down for cleaning. Only a little twist when you glue the pipe. Use more glue than needed. Wipe access away. You one shoot with clue and it goes off fast! Sand you need for liner. You must have a massive 20,000L a hr pump or bigger. Turn over work for 4-5 times the water volume. Your going a good job. Open a trade cash account for big discounts. Hope this helps. 🙏 good luck 👍
Great video well done keep going. Can't wait for next week Rob.
Top video James it’s going to look mint when it’s finished. 👍
Hey up,put a old paving slab under the bottum drains, dig them in,spread the weight load on the bottum drains, fill up with water, and put duck tape,on top,to stop muck getting in
Doing a great job James. Keep up the good work.
Great vid mate as usual so interesting watching it start to come together
Take me hat off to the old boy putting the graft in but then that's how they make them in Devon.
Congratulations on the 10,000 ... happy happy days!
Buzzing
Looking good mate, all about the preparation. Don’t forgot about leaving tees/valves etc for purging/cleaning the bottom drains. You will be amazed what crap get stuck after time. I have a large vari pump that runs on minimum but I can whack it up to max when purging the bottom drain, always amazed to see the crap it pulls through
Looking really good keep at it.
Well done 10k subs. Would definitely put swept 90 on of 2 45deg elbows help with flow. Dont forget to put purge valves on bottom drains. Biggest mistake people seem to miss. Looks good. Can't wait for next video
Your doing ok well done 👍
Looking great James good job 👌
Congratulations hitting 10k mate 👏👏👏👏 well done 👍👍👍👈
Its definitely taking shape James your doing superb
Man , if your doing the concreteing yourself remember the 4- 2- 1 mix
4 -gravel ( eg) shingle
2-sharp sand
1- cement
Nice strong Mix that mate
Just remember to gauge the mix out (eg) in buckets that way you keep it all the same strength no need to guess it 😉
Also overlap your reinforcing mesh by 2 squares if you can
Putting gravel in the mix makes it proper strong,
Keep up the great work your doing great, happy days 👍👍👍👍👍👍 .
Omg it gets better and better every week loving the videos James
Keep going James! Sending encouragement from from all of us!
Great progress. Awesome effort.
For your waste you should be able to run a pipe between your fence and your pond, it'll save you having to dig a hole to pump out out. Put a Tee on then you can rod it if you need to. Just an Idea.
Fantastic video , I'm surprised you didn't have a sunday food coma 😴 after eating all that, hope you're not too knackered when you get back to work mate .
I did but I keeped going 😂⛩💪💥🔥
Cracking job James great progress. Congratulations on 10k 👍👍👍
Looks amazing!😎 good luck whit the bildt, just stay following grts from belgium
Look's great James.
Use two 45 bend on the pipe work for the bottom drain. And remember the flow in a 110mm pipe needs to be min. 17.000 l/h to keep it's self clean. Now you have to bottom drains 👍😉
One will purge the other one with the ballvales and speed up 30,000 L an hour pumps boom 💥 nothing left in that drain what sort them right out a mate shown me the best way
James Don't forget to slop the floor down to the bottom drains , this will cause the waste to go down to the drain good luck
Well done James 👏
I used a wheely bin cut lid off sunk in ground with sump pump
cracking video as always mate
Looking great mate, I used jbr plastics for all my drains and fitting, If it's the same drain as mine which it looks like it is, just glue the centre air pipe after you've cut it down to the required length and the top screws on, no need to drill a hole, the only way it can come off is by unscrewing, the spindrifter can sometimes come off because its only pushed on, not like yours
Awesome video and awesome grafting! 🙌🙌
Just subbed, I thought I was the only one this nuts, lol. My ground is sandy in fla, only differance. Needs to be bigger and better. What was i thinking? You do want to pitch the floor down to the bottom drains.
Great great JOB💪💪💪💪end now time for a 🍺👍
gonna be a nice big pond mate ;)
Awesome week of graft mate! It's really.starting to take shape! Looking forward to see your progression in tomorrow's video.
As always, cracking vid, I'm learning a lot for when I do mine so thank you. Congratulations on 10k, your videos will be highly respected across the koi community and no doubt become a reference to other keen pond builders. 👍👍
Congratulations on 10,000 subscribers bro that’s amazing just started watching your channel and watched a fair few of your videos enjoying the new pond build
You have worked hard J, I would appreciate what price you have been given on the fibreglass, as this would help me out, still having to work out if it's cheaper to pay the water bill or replace the liner or fibreglass the pond. As i have mentioned the liner has a leak and the pond looses about 2" a day. Cheers mate
Looking good mate these koi don’t no what we do for them 🤣👍
New pond she said when you hit 10k well looks like you did it well done pal 👍🏻
Congratulations on 10K
Forgot your own line didn't u mate 🤣congratulations on the 10k as well James well deserved 👍
WAS A BUSY WEEK LOL
completely bonkers but you are doing right so far don't forget to weigh down your drains if you do not want them to float when the concrete gets poured
Smashing planning mate 👍
I would be the same with 2 drains and window in between
Will make the viewing much better
Great progress mate and glad you’re showing us the stages of the build 👍👍
Thank your grandpa for the goats 🐐 😂
Doing a great job there James, on the rebar fit plastic mesh support fixings insted of the broken concrete to support the rebar as this can cause weak points.
Looking good James. The only thing with 2 bottom drains is your gonna need a fair ol pump to get the pull and with those 90's not a sweeping 90. What pump are you thinking of using? Flow friend? Or something of its equal?
Not sure if I.missed it but you need to set the bottom drains in the ground and cement them in first, if you pour concrete without doing this the bottom drains will float in the concrete pour.
Great video James.
That has certainly been a load of digging I'm not surprised you're knackered! Just a couple of things to throw in the mix.
Have you thought about digging the filter house floor bottom to the same depth as the pond. That would give you so many more options for the future. You could then put a floating floor in the filter house at ground level and you then have a load of space under the floor that you can get at and use. For example your sump would go under there. You could also have various biological filters under there too. Leaving you extra room in your filter house at ground level.
I hoper you understand what I mean. If not just give me a shout.
Also remember to put a pipe in to your bottom drain pipes so that you can 'flush' both of them. That's very important to be able to flush your bottom drain.
It's looking good so far and will be excellent very soon.
James, you might want to put some polythene down under your pad and up out the ground a bit. If your fibre glassing it you don't ground water coming back in and looking at that clay it will deffo hold water. Just a thought. You have probably already concreted it but just in case. Good luck with it.
Again, well done James, it makes sense to me on the base height, I'm the same in my head then draw, measure and remeasure, the graft is unreal, I dug out my 3000 gallon pond by hand with a little trench shovel, 12 foot by 9 foot two foot in the ground then 2.5 foot up plus the concrete collar area, if I only had them superb dinners lol, all clay as well, but well done looking good cant wait for next video better than Eastenders lol.
Got to say James I have been critical of your videos but this new pond build looks professional and doing 2 drains is perfect good job so far 👌
Great job to you and your Co workers, on the bottom drain, having the hole in bottom drain, not sure, but I have one myself, I have not done this and never had the top popping off, this is just my personnel experience, maybe you will.get the answer from someone, keep up the good work James
Always feel shattered after watching your videos James 😂 fantastic work buddy 💪🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed
Looking good buddy... well thought out on the levels and you should give yourself a Pat on the back 👍👍
You should advertise those sacks of soil you may be surprised how many people by soil, just a thought to try and help you out mate 👍
So happy for you James with the 10k subs.
Well done on the work, that took some doing especially as you have to wheelbarrow everything. Amazing.
James I joined two dustbins together then sump pump to drain ya doing well mate
Looking really tidy that mate, I’m no expert but just a little tip, dig out a bit more for the bd’s and set them in a bit of concrete, just enough to hold them in position at the right level, saves a lot of messing about when you pour your base and you can tamp the concrete to the top them without them moving all over the place, oh and fill the pipes with water, that’ll stop em trying to float in the wet cony.
Keep going mate, really enjoying the build👍
Would leave the skimmer level with your top blocks so you can put a loose coping stone on top of the lid as looks a lot nicer finish and gives you a better water level.
No holes for stand pipe, but I did hear advice of not glue the drain air line but use a rubber boot as can always adjust the height slightly or take it off should you need to. I didn’t but thought it good advice.
Great vid James fantastic job so far mate keep going can't wait till its all finished 👍
You didn't mention purging bottom drains, IMO that's a must. You should see the crud that comes out when I purge mine.
Only if you run slow filters I have been shown a new way wait and see how it’s done it’s brilliant
@@JamesTHEKOIwhisperer123 Well I'm drawing 40,000Ltrs an hour so that's not slow.
Purge valves are always over looked. No matter how fast you are pulling or how far away there is always settlement somewhere. If you have the space in the filter house james it's a must. Even if you reduce it down to 2 inch purge ball valves to waste its still a rush of water worth having mate 👍
@@jasonhind4172 see your point but so if you had 2x30000l a hour pumps and ran them at say 50% all the time
Had 2 bottom drains with small vales shut one of and ran both pumps on full blast on just one 4” line don’t think there will be anything left in the pipes and means I can run every in to the drum and don’t lose as much water all at once ?
The video I make will explain it better
Congratulations on the 10k subs 🎉🎊🎉🎉🍾🍾
Well made up mate it’s nuts
@@JamesTHEKOIwhisperer123 well deserved bro made up for you and the ponds coming on very very nicely 👌👍
Prachtig man ik verlang al naar volgende week nu weet ik hoe ik moet beginnen aan mijn vijver
Seems like koi keeping is way more popular in Europe than the US. Wonder why that is
great work, i will say looking at the placement of the bottom drains you may run into the issue your trying to avoid, your viewing window - they look to close together
I thought that too, inside crosses ? Maybe he changed his mind.
Hi mate doing good. The way you have done the floor measurement for concrete is the way I would done it you know you have a full 6inch slab then
Bottom drains good idea not In front of window
Don’t drill hole in bottom drain stays no need
That was a lot of work
lookin good mate but go with 2 4" T on the up pipe give u a rodding point trust me crap builds up its a must good look with the rest keep the vids comin thanks
Well done mate. Making great progress. All looking good so far. I got the same drain as you and didn't drill a hole. Hasn't caused me any issues yet but my ponds still new 🤷♂️
YEA MATE JUST PUT THE WORD OUT THERE SEEN IT DONE BOTH WAYS LIKE
Great work so far James!
I notice that your really losing weight with all that hard work!
I’m so excited to see the new pond when it’s finished!
Keep up the work!
Coming on mate 👍👍
