- Is EuroLeague having an identity crisis and slowly becoming like the NBA? Insane amount of games leads to various injuries and almost none preparation time for the head coaches. That leads to less intensity and defense, which the EuroLeague is so proud of. In this video, BasketNews’ Augustas Suliauskas analyzes the recent trends in European basketball.

The worst thing happened to euro league is having betting websites get involved. Euroleague is going to become a shit show of only scoring to cover the spreads and quarter bets. Euroleague was fun while it lasted but now
Corporations are coming in.
The nba did something smart with the cup - by joining RS games to be also considered as cup games.
could shed off 5 games per season
There's another problem or two on the horizon. NBA and G League will expand, Japan League is rising, China League may come back, maybe Taiwan or Africa league will improve. Unless EL becomes significantly richer and those lleagues it's talent level will plummet
Don't forget NCAA which started dishing out contracts similar to those of EuroLeague, disrupting the entire ecosystem too. Now, it's more difficult for a EL club to find and develop talent and cash in on their investment because they might just go play overseas.
the thing euroleague has to market is the fanbases, cause those will not be found anywhere else in the world
Agreeing 100%...plus there is Filipino, Puertorico and Australia league...plus NCAA is paying talents a 6 figures incomes...plus they will soon expand NBA with 2 more teams..
EL must adapt ...work with young prospects...today every u-21 player who plays 15+min in EL is legit candidate for "young rising star" award...
We actually did a video on this: ua-cam.com/video/4kBFNBcV-8M/v-deo.htmlsi=ZuoFNGMX43KEuSlU
Euroleague ahould no become a closed league, teams from domestic leagues should still have way to enter. Maybe semi closed is correct but not closed.
Agreed. They already are NBA Europe with closed league system and one table for everyone
Everything is fair, but still EL regular season is interesting while NBA is boring
But, yet , you are so focused on the NBA, keep telling on yourself, you ridiculous nonsense.
Nah EL regular season is alot more boring since teams are so much worse
To u that's your opinion u don't speak for everyone
@@frank-ko6de what is no sense of my comment? Why do you give a fuck of my own opinion? Too much of free time?

If you all see what's going on in UEFA/FIFA, it's going to be the same issue with the big teams in the EL.
Whats going on in UEFA/FIFA?
First of all Euroleague must think not about just 18 teams, but must think about all European basketball. So Euroleague must create European basketball association with national leagues. In this agreement they must agree that European tournament just have 30 games regular season plus maximal 10 games for playoffs. National leagues also have same games structures, but they also can have and cup competition with maximum 3 games.
Euroleague must expand to 24 teams. 3 groups with 8 teams. With your group teams you played two times with other group teams you played one game. Regular season 30 games. And relegation and promotion system with Eurocup.
EBA ( European basketball association) also help all nationals league sell contracts for other markets. Maybe EBA can cordinate nationals leagues schedule, that in every weekend we can have rivalies from different countries. In one week we can have Pao and Olympiacos, another week Barca and Real, next week Partizan and Zvezda and so on. So every weekend we have one great rivalies game. Also Euroleague and national leagues must agree what European basketball season ends with final 4, not national leagues finals. Also with EBA you can create system if in your club grow player, this club earn 5 percent player salaries from club where this player play. If player from another continent club must pay 10 percent salaries for European basketball development fund. This fund give money for youth programs, and help federations to grow up new talents.
EuroLeague have already had groups and that was way less interesting. EuroLeague's rebirth correlates with its introduction of a round-robin format, when you get to enjoy top level competition without the luck of a draw and you get an accurate sense of how strong or weak clubs actually are.
@@KaipPavadinsiTaipNepagadinsi it was good until Euroleague expand to 18 teams and we have 34 games. Now to much double weeks and we dont have perfect formula per week we have just one game Euroleague, and one game domestic league.
Way better then euroligue recaps ❤
The Euroleague seems like a mixture of the NCAA and the NBA. The play style and environment are similar to college ball.
I feel like every team in euroleague in general should play less domestic games, It's the only way to improve the quality of play in euroleague. Or just make the season one month longer, so that double weeks aren't that exhausting
The supercup how many games does it bave? Or is it a game of league and cup winners?
4 teams, 2 semifinal games and the final
In NNA they dont have organized team offences they have individual offences
Both NBA and EUROleague becoming CBA.
They need to change to 32 teams, 8 groups double round robin, top 2 teams into playoffs. They have too much games and its exhausting for the players. And they also need to open for everyone. Paris FC was founded 6 years ago and its already playing in it just bcs they have money....
There is FIBA Champions League too, opposition to Euro League
Injured players is expected from sports
Talking about defensive rating when both leagues have different rules. That's bull shit and u know it.
We want more games😂
Trust me you do not. Games don't matter as much and players have more risk of getting injured.
EL needs to grow outside of Europe like to Asia or North America because what's the point of the competiton if almost all teams have 10+ million dollar budget but their prize is only 2 mil
North America......???? My word, you nonsense peasants are so deluded. Hahahahaha.
timeouts need to be reduced! 1 on the first half and 2 in the second half have to be enough!
No 💀
That for sure is NOT a problem. The pointless referee call reviews ARE.
@@chris-2496 10 timeouts per game are highly annoying, no need for that, if you cant prepare your team as a coach before the game, it for sure is too late during the game!
The EL could easily fix the number of games problem just go back to dividing the EL in groups again not like they haven't done it before
The EL was best when it was divided in groups
They don't care about basketball they care about profits , more games , more profits.
@mightycrusader7053 That what the NBA though also...
I love Eurocup format way more, 2 groups out of 10 teams each, and playoffs are easily understandable. I would like to see it in Euroleague, maybe even 2 groups of 12 or 14. Only one game every week, no double weeks. And actually, who watches Eurocup when it's double week?
See where you coming from, but with such a format you run the risk of not having some classic derbys during the regular season (Oly-Pana, Partizan-Red Star etc.) And it would also result to fewer games hurting the team incomes.
EL is NBA playoffs on steroids...its that interesting and sport-like tournament...F4 is particularly a dope...
they just have to stop this refferee terror and their "all eyes on me" attitude, endleslly reviewing of chalenges and doubts, thus killing the momentum of a play...and include 2 mandatory u-21 players in the squad...
Points have increased in the nba because teams are shooting more 3s. The defense is still there. How do y'all call yourself basketball fans and don't understand this?
try not to become the NBA, keep it basketball take whatñs better to make it sustainable amnd fun
We are not becoming NBA.. We are CLASS BETTER than the americans..

Euroleague is not NBA's number 2 . Euroleague is much better than NBA. Shooting and Defensely are Europe Better. NBA are only in Athletic and phisically better. Look a Nba match how they defense and look a European match. 10Years before ok, they were better. but now are Europeans better. European player cannot play good in NBA and otherwise NBA player cannot play so good in Europe. Even Doncic say that the NBA are much easier to play. And the other thing is in the last 10Years have played European Teams against NBA teams and most of them won the Euro Teams.
Yet the nba has all of the greatest shooters and defender. 😭
kendrick Nunn was a bum in the nba and now the best player in the euro league. 😭
@@iamdebaby8152 actually nunn before his injury was a good player but sadly he didn't get a chance. Same to Sasha vezenkov who didn't get a chance. Same thing to spanoulis Mike James Papagiannis etc. If euroleague players got a chance believe me they would dominate much like doncic giannis and jokic
@@thanosa4875 every single player who fails to make the nba say “they didn’t get a chance” 😂
@@jessie-jame Lula says it’s easier to score in the nba, big difference. If it’s easier to score than it’s harder to play defense
euro league plays basketball like its soccer, nba plays basketball like its basketball
Comparing the formats, BCLs is better than ELs. And it’s not every year the same
wtf channel is this? Trying to degrade the best league in the world,NBA, just to praise the European basketball. Euroleague is made out of nba trash players. YEar by year they play with less national players. Yes real madrid or Barça playes almost 80+ games, but Have you seen the level of the teams in most of europeans domestic league? why don't you talk about the difference of the elite teams, comprise of this euroleague temas you talk about so much and the lesser teams from thier domestic leagues? It makes the domestic league games, that are played once a week ridiculously unbiased. And what about the unbalance of salaries within the Euroleague too?
Someone made you cry😂😂😂
You seem very frustrated 😂
You might wanna check the mvps in the NBA lately. Europeans are dominating the NBA 😂
@@mcdtubes oh you don't say... Europeans by nba Standards. Good for them and the NBA. now again,Have you seen the level of the teams in most of europeans domestic league? what about the lack of balance of salaries within the Euroleague teams? Yes, NBA is a competitive league with opportunities for any good player that even players from any Country can become MVP.
They always do this. Talking shit about the nba. Like bro your best players couldnt average 10 point in the nba. Y'all are not a better league😭
El modo de arreglar esto es que los equipos de Euroliga no jueguen sus ligas domésticas.
