Crazy coincidence, but I recorded a walk in Westgate on July 16 (I drove my nephew -- who works at Westgate Pool -- for a lifeguard meeting... he also lifeguards at Robin Hill Pool near where my wife and I live)!! It is a great neighborhood. I grew up in District 66 (my dad was a guidance counselor in the district for many years), and there are so many great neighborhoods in the district. We lived in Rockbrook in the 70s, and moved to the Hillside area in the 1980s. I have so many memories of the whole Westgate area - and took art classes at Pipal Park as a kid. Cinema Center was a terrific theater - I remember standing in line outside for "The Empire Strikes Back" in 1980 (the final movie I saw there was "Quantum of Solace" before it closed). I'll definitely record more walks in Westgate, and plan to get walks in more of the neighborhoods that encapsulate the school district in the future. 👍🚴
