... a number of medications. EMT-Paramedic, or simply Paramedics, are a highly advanced level of health care practitioner. They are able to provide advanced assessments, a vast array of medications, many of the same used by the emergency department, as well as advanced medical procedures like managing a patient's airway, stitching, and cardiac pacing.
It is a highly rewarding career and now is a very exciting time to get involved!

In Alberta, Canada to become an EMT-P, you will need training in a program approved by the Alberta College of Paramedics. To become an EMT-P, you must be a registered EMT. To become an EMT, you must be a registered EMR.

The titles they have portrayed in this video are confusing. To clear up some misconceptions, there are three levels of training: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), which is a very basic level of care and assessment. Next, Emergency Medical Technican (EMT), which is a quite a bit more in depth. EMT's are educated about anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and are able to provide a number of additional skills like taking a heart tracing, starting an intravenous as well as administer...

I bumped here out of random videos and links on Medical Biller/Coder occupation and job search. I have to say it is a crime how much an Emergency Medical Tech gets paid for this type of job. I searched on salaries and on average they get $21,000 to start with and about $51,460 for experienced senior personals. O_O Considering the code of ethics and the extreme examinations these personals go through, not to mention the job qualifications and hazards they go through on a daily bases, you would think they would get paid more than that. I was expecting or estimating that they earn around $50,000 as a start and it increases with experience (naturally). I would have never guessed they would get $21,000 as entry start. Wow! Kind of a spit to the face after all the money, time, and effort put into the certifications programs and exams. Those certification/license exams aren't easy or cheap. And I thought teachers were being enslaved. I am truly grateful and thankful to all who will enter or are already in the EMT field. I know some don't hear it often... bless you all and keep up the great work on perfecting your profession. Thank you again.
