5917 & R766 70th Birthday Parallel Run, 23rd Of October 2022

On the 23rd of October 2022 The Picnic Train's 5917 & R766 turned 70 years old and to celebrate this they ran a parallel run with the two steam locomotives. This trip started at Maitland Railway Station, both trains ran towards Newcastle alone with R766 going around Port Waratah and 5917 going to Broadmeadow from there they both met up just before Waratah Railway Station and ran parallel all the way back to Maitland Railway Station.
