It's held up great for a year and half so far. I've had to shoot a bit of WD40 every few months, especially since it gets wet from washing/rain. still going strong - i love how easy it was to install. Great video, betty! hope you never stop uploading. You're so cool 😀
Believe it or not it does help, because it dampens the drop-you are not fighting against that when you lift the tailgate. Of course it won’t go up by itself but I feel it is easier to close now. Thank you for your comment 😊

Those clips are made to just push on. You don't have to use a screwdriver to move them unless you are removing the strut.

That's a drop cylinder, to slow down the tailgate.
I drive a 04 Dodge truck, it has a heavy tail gate. I need to install one of those. God Bless you and your Husband 🙏

I never thought much about that until I had to kind of wrestle a bike and the tailgate, and you're right, it's a bit too heavy for one hand.
