I am dyslexic which makes it really hard for me to read. Right now in college I am taking a new testament history class and these videos have helped me so much throughout the class. Thank You!
What's the disorder for having difficulty watching videos called?
If you download the YouVersion Bible app there is an audio function too. It reads the Bible for you if you're having trouble reading. These video's are good, but it's always better to read it yourself and use the video's as a bonus if you don't understand
I hear ya, listening to the Bible on UA-cam, and listening to these videos so good. Faith comes from Hearing. The Bible has opened up for me.
@@themanape there are vision issues that cause that, but I’m not finding a mental disorder for it. Having dyslexia, adhd and autism in the extended family, I’d think we addressed it some time in the last three decades. I just don’t recall right now.
Irish Nemo God bless you and I'm thankful to hear that these videos are making a difference in your life. Listen I actually graduated from high school not knowing who to read properly, I'm not talking about the color purple bad " A for apple, B for bat". Not that bad, but it was bad. And God allowed me to come across these videos and other people in the faith, that has helped me learn how to read and gain a better understanding of The Word. Now I can read well and I'm actually working on writing a book.
To The Bible Project, thank you for using your platform to help your brothers and sisters in Christ ❤
this is my second time reading 1 peter and v. 5:7, specifically 'for HE CARES FOR YOU' really had stuck out to me.. its like it all of a sudden hit me that God loves me. idk why it's so difficult to get the idea through my heart.. but im starting to really see jesus as a friend and god as our loving father...
I understand that completely.
The kingdom of heaven has come near to you. Heart, James Joseph Dickson May 29th, 2023 Ferguson, Missouri Follow me towards Him. Amen.

I’m so happy for you, God bless❤
I always watch these videos before starting a new book of the Bible. They're so helpful for me to get my bearings, especially in long and complicated ones like Genesis and Isaiah. I'm on track to have read the Bible cover to cover by the end of this year, and I have you to thank for that, at least in part! (The videos are especially helpful because I have ADHD, and therefore a lot of stuff gets jumbled in my head really quickly)
FOR REALS!
Ditto. It has made my first pass through the Bible much more educational.
Don't forget that it's the Holy Spirit ultimately that reveals God's word to us. Always ask Him for revelation before you begin to read
That said, the Bible Project is doing an amazing job! We can't thank them enough
I can't believe how much I have learned from these videos I love it
Me too.
Me tooooo!

Where are the answers to YOUR questions???
Thanks for sharing!💞
@@mahoser64 Her questions pretty much went in the order of the video, so you'll find the correct answers there.
Thank you!
I lead family devotionals and this is where I go when we start to read a new epistle. Thank you so much for your work!
I love how I have been raised in the church but yet never have I heard (or made the obvious connection myself) that baptism alludes to The Flood ...🧠💥. Thanks y'all!
There's a connection there, to be sure, but I like to think of it more like the Flood and baptism both allude to Jesus's death and resurrection. They are also tied to the Hebrew practice of entering into a covenant, as well as the Old Testament sacrificial system, the sacrament of communion or the eucharist, the design of the Temple with its inner court and the veil, as well as even the design of the human body and the act of procreation. It's pretty crazy how they are all tied together, many different pictures given to us by the God who created all things and who knows the end from the beginning.
@@davegjerdingen4889 That's true.
Actually, imo, all the bible has a connection with Jesus, it's crazy.
I used to be very skeptic about Jesus, but there's no way all these connections are coincidence.
Everything is connected he is so intelligent, OUR GOD IS AWESOME
This epistle has a great deal of validity and importance (as does 2 Peter) because it was written by one who confessed Jesus as the promised Messiah, then denied knowing Jesus on the eve of the crucifixion. Therefore, Peter really knew about the pressure of persecution among believers. He could really connect with his audience and sympathize with them.
Yes, life’s hardship deepens our faith, thank you.
Love these videos. They not only bring God’s word alive to me, they help me see ideas I had not seen before! Thank you for all you are doing in spreading God’s Word of love!
Students are conducting online Bible test series in our college during the quarantine.Whenever they announce the portions, they suggest to watch Bible project videos for quick overview. Your works are very useful. God bless.
Perhaps the friendliest male voice I have ever heard. I greatly enjoy listening to your explanations.
I've studied scripture for most of my life. These videos really help me focus on key points instead of just getting lost in just story telling.
I really like the picture of the big Jesus comforting the suffereing Christians.
These Bible explanations are so deep and yet easy to understand. Thank you for all the work and thought you put in each one of these videos. Thank God for his love compelled you to produce this awesome work.
4:45 a.m. Woke w/ inspiration to go to “1 Peter.” Honestly wasn’t even sure there was a 1 Peter to go to. Now I’m just praising God & reveling in His love for me. I am blessed! The other cool thing is… of all the options to read this scripture, I scrolled down & selected one ( past the 1st video link I saw) it too offered this video link, which I then followed. I immediately recognized the voice of the man I just watched 2 days ago explaining ‘what most people believe Christians believe vs what the Bible truly teaches’ ( clear dry erase board/ linear life experience). I was greatly impressed by that first encounter w/ the BibleProject & now this. 🙏🏼 Thank you.
I watch these after I read the book , thank you for these. God bless 🙏🏽
Humble servants of God, you are really serving God through helping people understand His Word better.
Wonderful work, as always, creators of the Bible Project. Thank you for combining the knowledge of scholars, pastors and artists to break down the Lord’s word so that others may read it and comprehend it more easily. I use your videos as I read my bible to help me understand more complex passages in ways I have never thought of before.
I am broken-hearted for my country as I watch this video. Divisions exist so deeply between Christians and non-Christians, and anger and bitterness exists on both sides. This is an opportunity for Christians to show that we are different- we have the Lord’s spirit in us, and we are full of love and generosity. However I feel like many people who wear the title “Christian” fight back instead of forgive.
Amen!
Yes & amen! Unfortunately this has only gotten worse. We are not showing the world Jesus by our love. 🙏🤗❤️
Praise the Lord Jesus the King of kings and Lord of lords for raising you in His grace, and blessing you with all spiritual blessings. These videos have been a major help. May you reach more lost souls in your witness for Jesus, until He comes! These videos rock!

So many of the earlier posts made me cry with joyous compassion I had to stop reading them several times and then continue. BibleProject has a wonderful platform going and I hope God continues to bless the work and the followers.
Such wise words, thank you Saint Peter, thank you Jesus, and God bless Bible Project
@BibleProject Love everything about Project Bible. This team has worked hard to demonstrate the Bible's complexities and simplicities. Peter is amazing! Make no mistake... I've failed God 3 times and he still has a story written for me.
I really enjoyed the video! Jesus is the way to everlasting life!
Not only is He the way, but also the life :)
needtoknow204 And Jesus is the Truth that sets us free...
Peter's teaching is DEFINITELY the power and truth of the HOLY SPIRIT! I TOTALLY AGREE WITH AND UNDERSTAND THE THEME OF LOVE! LOVE CONQUERS ALL! ALSO, its so beautiful and amazing how the people who suffered the MOST and treated the worst, become GOD'S CHOSEN! LOVE IT!! THESE TEACHINGS STAND THE TEST OF TIME BECAUSE PETER IS GUIDED AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, IN WHICH IS THE TRUTH, THE WAY AND THE LIGHT. AND ALWAYS WILL BE FOREVER AND EVER..........TIMELESS. PRAISE GOD, THANK U JESUS
Thank you so much for your ministry to the Body of Christ! The Lord bless and prosper you more.
Amen! I Love this, connect Them ALL, GOD BLESS YOU IN JESUS'S NAME! Amen!!!
This is a brilliant video as always. So clear and concise; providing a perfect overview before reading the actual book. It also highlights this idea that suffering for a Christian is not random, but is part of God’s redemptive plan for us. Bishop Bob Barron says it in this way - “there is no such thing as dumb suffering”. “In the world you will face tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Bless you for providing this wonderful service to seekers and believers alike. I am already retired and still have not read the Bible from start to finish! Now that daunting task is no longer ahead thanks to your "overviews" of just about every single book in the Bible (have not correlated yet but I'm sure if anything is not there, you will make sure it gets there! Thank you so very much for your commitment and your sterling artwork!
Thank you Lord I really like the Bible project thank you and I will try and read the Bible more .

ik bidt dat GOD julie verder mag gebruiken. Jullie zijn een zegen voor anderen. God bless
Peter is an even cooler book than I remember. 😍 Thanks for the amazing summary. I gotta read this again!
Hope - this word used today means, wishful (thinking) or unsure optimism. The biblical usage, Hebrew/Greek, is much different. Here, hope is an indication of certainty, akin to Trust and a confident outcome. Love these videos!!!
Also very much appreciated is the length of the videos.
It's long enough to teach & short enough not to lose ones attention. That is a rather crucial key to retain me in a regular basis. If a video drags out, I forget what I just heard. So if I can old unto a key thought; I can retain just about enough to ponder after the video is over. Thanks so much.
Love your series. I do not think he was writing to Gentiles but to the Jews in dispertion, a continuance of the Old Testament dispensation.
really appreciate these videos, helps me out before I start to study and teach Gods word
As a practicing Catholic, I would like to commend you on a wonderfully in depth video on St Peter. God bless.

ISAIAH 60 - 1 PETER
“For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.” (Isaiah 60:2)
WORDD BY: JESUS
"As in the days of Noah so shall it also be in the coming of the sons of My Father. For indeed when the tempest arose, the waters started to rise and the ark began to float, what do you think stood out to the people the most? The ark. So shall the gentiles look to the light bearers and the kings come to the brightness of their rising when deep darkness covers the earth. The greater the darkness the greater the glory. The ark resembles My presence in a time of darkness and you are called like Noah and his family to be carriers of such. This comes by living a lifetime of holiness and not yielding to petty threats the enemy throws at you. Too often you may get encumbered by the pressures of life but what happens when real darkness knocks on your doorstep? Are you able to not only endure it, but overcome it? Remember, you are called to walk through the storm, not avoid it. You can only do so by being faithful to overcome your daily trials and not consider it strange when they come your way. They are there to help you overcome so you may be carriers of My presence as Noah and his family were.
Persecutions and tribulations are coming. It is not the persecution that will come from building My kingdom, nor was it the ridicule Noah received from building the ark. It’s the persecution you will receive when you have hundredfold blessings following you and My glory with you. As in the days of Noah, they will rise up against you to destroy what I have done. But fret not, for I am with you and their hand will by no means succeed for My glory will be seen upon you which no darkness is able to stand against."

Just like The *3 Phases Of Truth*
“All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.” - 19th century German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer

Ty,ty,...I love reading my Bible eachday, and you guys helped me to understand why God's word gives me strength.ty,for all you do,to help others understand, and cherish his word😁..A new subbie😁
As hard as I try, I cannot understand how suffering and unhappiness could be seen as a blessing or make a person feel closer to God.
When Jesus suffered on the cross, he felt pain and abandonment. Even Jesus felt that way!
I believe most humans feel closest to God when they feel joy, forgiveness,, gratitude and contentment. When we can see the wonders of Gods creation and feel pure and open.
Suffering makes us feel muddled and abandoned and bitter.
That's why hell is seen as suffering...not heaven.
Screaming out to God in fear isn't great. Going to God in gratitude, just to be close to God, is love.
My faith grew much stronger during suffering than in times of joy. Jesus talks extensively about the reasons behind this. I am not saying it is universal, but it is the norm.
Suffering has the power and ability of creating total surrender to God. Suffering teaches compassion towards others in a way that nothing else can. Suffering is an indicator that something is wrong and there needs to be change. Suffering has the ingredients to point the heart to the cure - Jesus. Suffering brings us to our knees before God’s Holy and Merciful Throne of Grace. We can see suffering through our own lens or we can choose to see suffering through God’s perspective. God said, we would suffer and be persecuted among other wonder things as well. People of the mind world hate Him, therefore they will hate anyone who resembles Him. That will bring some suffering. It is impossible to follow Christ and not suffer. It comes with His name attached. Sharing with a humble heart. I hope and pray that it is received in good faith and openness. I mean no harm. Just sharing and also trying to learn myself.
ty for your ministry you make it easy and understandable, God bless you and your family

I couldn't sleep last night, soo many things were passing through my head and I started to act as if I was having a conversation with God. small background: over a year I am asking GOD to reveal Himself to me, to talk to me, but nothing was happening until last night... GLORY BE TO GOD. While I was faking my conversation with HIM, I heard something telling me to wake up and read 1 PETER(which by the way I have never read before), but I didn't really take it seriously. so today I said to myself let me just check what 1 peter says. ooohhhh GOD THANK YOU... SUFFERING FOR CHRIST WILL DEFINITELY BRING ME BLESSINGS AND SOO MUCH MORE. THANK YOU FOR FINALLY TALKING TO ME. Am inviting you, let's have more conversations dear PAPA... I love you :)

Question:
Is 1st and 2nd Peter applicable for today’s Christians or just to who it was addressed to long ago?
Are you now in Heaven? If your answer were to be NO, then the letters of Peter apply to you. You are still waiting for the promised reunion with GOD and all the believers who have gone before you.
