Thanks for the tip. Would you know where I see details of the new changes? In the app store (Mac) it only says "Single File Editing" and "Left Side Editing Controls"
Nitro is the perfect for an 8/16GB Mac: 1. Open the app Photoshop: 2,02GB Nitro: 0,10GB 2. Open a 24mpx photo (no edits or zoom) Adobe Camera RAW: 4,08GB Nitro: 0,14GB 3. Edit a 24mpx photo (sliders editing and 100% zoom) Camera RAW: 4,90GB Nitro: 0,26 GB 4. Edit 400 24mpx photos (edited 1 and paste the setting in the rest) Camera RAW: 10,34GB Nitro: 4,61GB* The use of RAM in Nitro is 100% variable. The peak of the last test was 4,61GB, but during the test drops to 2GB and when it's done drops even more. It does not need all the ram all the time. That's a huge advantage! *The only "drawback" is that it took 4 minutes because Nitro saves the edits at the moment, so when it's done you can close the app without ask you to save, preventing a crash from losing all your edits I did the test on my Macbook Air M2 8GB Sonoma 14.5, with a 7 days trial of Nitro 2024.6 (33) and original Adobe Photoshop 2024 25.4 with Adobe Camera RAW 16.1.1.1733 Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Wow thanks for sharing the comprehensive resuts of your testing. Adobe really is a resource hog in my Windows PC particularly photoshop. It also works in my 7 year old ipad pro. However I think the main competitor of Nitro is Photomator. Do you have any thoughts on which one is better for your usage?
I think you have underestimated its raw development strengths -far more comprehensive than Photomator - and you have missed that both luma and colour options are available for masking. It also can interpret a wider range of Raw files than Photomator, which is limited by Apple’s decoding. I have both apps and Nitro is nothing like as far behind as you state.
Thanks for your feedback. I will check the luma and colour capabilities which I missed. I did say at the end Nitro is not that far behind and could well overtake Photomator.
I may be a bit of a one-off, but of the 3 cameras I have Apple Raw (and hence Photomator) only supports 1 and doesn't support compressed raw from any of them - Nitro supports all and in compressed raw. Don't get me wrong I think Photomator is a great product as far as it goes, but its total reliance on Apple Raw means even though I own a full licence, it currently is very limited for me. Where Nitro shines is its integration with both File Browser and Photos, meaning I can if I want upload images from my Apple unsupported cameras into Photos and Nitro will be able to view them through Photos, although personally I use Nitro with the file system option as that way it does provide a good enough asset management tool as well. Also integrates with other apps such as Affinity
Thanks for the feedback. Definitely Nitro deserves praise for supporting more cameras. I believe others have mentioned as much Really amazing one guy can provide more camera support than Apple! Is it that your cameras are newly released that Apple hasnt supported it yet?
Another great video, thanks!
My pleasure!
Please review the new ipad Version... Especially the Detail slider and more...🙏

For a first release it’s actually pretty impressive. I really like how it works and the results I get out of it.
Nice to hear. It is an impressive release. Will keep an eye out on how it develops.
Thanks for doing this review. Andy Hutchinson also mentioned the sliders in Nitro did not do enough even when when moved to 100%.
Glad to help. I didn't have the issue with shadows and highlights--except for the Clarity slider didn't do much at all.
