@@Hellenic_Empire1980 There is a specificity going on right now in the Toyota Lineup. Until very recently, their engine where constantly overwhelmed by the task of pushing their cars. The CHR, like the Auris (last gen name for the Corolla), both shared an engine that was too small, and so, needed to be "on", more often. Nullifying the benefits of the hybrid system. In the actual corolla generation, Toyota dealed with this problem. And the new CHR coming out right now follows the same principle. Please note that the problem was particulary dire with the CHR, due to a significant handicap of this car, and that is the SUV shape, that makes this thing a fridge to glide through air. I will rely of the mass datas you find on the very popular portal "Spritmonitor.de", that is a great tool to assess those. Old generation of the Auris hybrid had a majority peak of consumption around 5.3 L/100km, they where specially hungry at highway speeds. The new Corolla, with more powerful engine, drops at 5.03L/100 km, especially the highway consumption drops in a significant manner. Note that those are median numbers. So would you say that setting the cruise control at say 140 km/h would keep the consumption below 6lt??
A friend of mine bought the CHR hybrid and he tells me that in any case at around 130 the consumption won't go below 6.8lt under no circumstances which i find normal cause a hybrid system works better in lower speeds.
Some eco-drivers are reporting 3.9 to 4.3L/100km with adapted driving. The new CHR is actually rolling from the band, we will receive the data's of users in the coming months.
@@boboutelama5748 thanks for your time mate. I appreciate it!
@@Hellenic_Empire1980 In drove the TS 2.0 and CHR 2.0 ... I got 5.8l .. just like in the GS300h with a 2.5l.
Bigger engines can handle higher speeds better.
Whatever you guys do don't buy Chevrolet. I made that mistake and so did 3 of my coworkers. We all had to bring it in for something. 2 of them had transmission problems.
YEs and don't buy Mercedes, Jeep, Fiat, BMW, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Renault, Volkswagen and Ford.
My advice to you out there. We run a car rental for state related officials. Even if there is good cherrypicks amongst them, you can't risk your money on those car. Or at least lease them with a warranty to have them away in two or three years.
What a mistake...
Eles Maximus Absolutely useless comment! Every car has a target audience. Only a Diesel is more efficient!
It accelerates as it had 160hp maybe even less...
0 to 100km/h in 7.8 seconds is definitly a 180hp car
the normal prius with 122/136 hp( hp and engine version depending on year) accelerates like a 150 hp petrol. the cvt is a massive advantaje. this 180 hp cvt hybrid definitely accelerates like a 200 hp petrol.
@@Choice777 not really like 200 hp petrol car...
@@LMcars this is 9 second
@@RustyHeartsTOV It does. I raced my girlfriends Alfa Romeo Guilleta (170HP, manual) many, many times. She launched her car like a pro yet got beat by my Toyota Auris Hybrid (140HP). Only after ~130km/h did she pass me and I started losing her. Toyota HSD-gearbox is like a cheat with the elektro-motor. I have like 3x more Torque in my Hybrid than her Alfa with a turbo from 0-1000 RPM and ~2x more torque than her till ~2500 rpm. I pull hard on her Alfa till ~50km/h. Then she slowly gets closer but only passes me at illegal speeds in my country. Both cars have about 40-50k km's on it. Serviced, in top condition. Summer wheels, my Auris on 18" and her Guilleta on 17" with pretty new tires.
11sg of 0 to 120 kms/h ????? I don´t like it.
A Volkswagen Golf does 0-100km/h in 10.2 seconds (~35,000 Euro, more expensive than Corolla 180hp which costs ~32,000 Euro). A Golf with the strongest engine (150HP), the Golf Business R-line does 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds. But this car costs ~44,000 Euro. The Corolla 180HP does 0-100km/h in 7.8 seconds and costs 32,000 Euro. Yet you don't like it? Are you crazy??? This car is FASTER but also 12k Euro cheaper! You are really STUPID man!
The slowest 180 hp i ever seen
Not really...8 sec to 100 is pretty good. Which 180HP-car is quicker?
@@DanLekin golf, astra, etc
@@sewerynmalinowski7285
Golf 7 1.8 TSI = 7,8sec , just 300ms quicker but with stupid turbo, filter and high consumption.
Astra turbo diesel 8,6-8,9 sec., turbo petrol 8,5-8,9sek/150hp & 7,9sek/200hp.
Corolla wins due to better technologies, much better consumption and way more smoother gearbox.
@@DanLekin And no mention that Corolla is heavier than Golf, Astra ... And no mention Corolla is much more reliable, can expect very high mileage without serious issu, unlike golf or astra...

How to destroy a CVT
I don't think so lol
Funny because there is no CVT. It has an HSD which is a completely different transmission.
You are just dumb! It's a ECVT and it can not get destroyed!
vergognoso.
