That France-Argentina game was incredible. So many great moments. The Di Maria goal, the beautiful goal by Pavard and the lovely Messi assist for Aguero. But the difference was Mbappe. He was too fast for Argentina he scored 2 goals and his dribble won the penalty for the 1st goal.
I prefer European Football over South American, so loved the final four being all European teams... Wish my Germans were contenders, but this and the last world cups were tough to watch as a Germany fan with hopes before the Tournament quickly crushed! Belgium Japan, Belgium Brazil, and Argentina France were incredible games! Great video as always my friend!!
Great Video yet again, can't wait for the next one. This world cup had so many remarkable moments apart from those you mentioned already: - The beginning of Germany's decline until recently - Belgium returning to defeat Japan after being down 0:2 - Brazil once again failing spectacularly
This tournament was England’s Resurgence, They made 2 semifinals in the last 50 years before this. Since then they’ve made it to 4 semifinals and 2 finals in the 6 years since then.
I didn't have France in my radar as favorites back then, but they were just champions, they could've and honestly should've won back to back World Cups in 2022 but fifa made us travel back to the times where certain national teams were heavily favored to obtain results. Belgium played the most beautiful football and could have won it too had they were more flexible during the match. If they had defeated France they would have undoubtely won their first WC.
Argentina had struggled in that wc so much even for qualifying to round of 16 And also there were some controversial penalties for france in that world cup
Yes, Argentina were poor this World Cup. They didn't seem to have a game plan and they were just relying on individual moments from their best players.
At least they were controversial, but the ones for Argentina in 2022 weren't even controversial, the perfect words to describe them are: "are you serious?" Or "you gotta be f* kidding me?".
I'm French and I still can't understand why some French people don't like this team just because it's defensive (but they have fond memories of 1998, which was also defensive). But for me, who's too young to have seen the Zidane generation, it's by far the best French team I've seen, and once we'd got past the complicated group phase, I loved the way we played in the knockout phase, and our defense and defensive midfield were so excellent at the time, along with a good and effective attack (something we're missing a lot today). I'd still like to congratulate Belgium and Croatia, who had an excellent World Cup and really gave us a hard time, and it's regrettable we didn't have Belgium vs. Croatia, as it would have been a magnificent match and I don't know who would have won. I also have fond memories of this World Cup outside the French team (the Swedish and Russian epics, Germany going out in the 1st round, Spain vs Portugal, Switzerland vs Serbia, Colombia vs England, etc...)
I'm surprised to hear that the 2018 France team isn't that popular. I'm old enough to remember 1998, and that team was more defensive. But I suppose they were the first French team to win the World Cup, so they'll always be special. Winning it at home as well.
There were also 2 other matches in this WC that were great! The first one between Japan & Belgium which Belgium won 3-2 after having been down 0-2! The other great match was between Sweden & Germany which the latter won in the final moments of the game 2-1 with only 10 players. One should also mention that Mexico & Korea also managed to upset the World Champions Germany in their respective games!
I should perhaps mention that i grew up in the US.....i don't live there today but i just wanted to explain something that most Americans have trouble saying! In the States, i learned to say 'game' or 'field'.....but after moving back to Denmark, i learned that ppl in Europe tend to say 'match' or 'pitch' instead.....and to this day, i still don't know when to say 'match' instead of 'game' or 'pitch' instead of 'field'!

Yes, this was probably the game of the tournament. That Pavard goal was sublime.
Perisic was brilliant for Croatia this World Cup. He scored crucial goals for them.
Yes, Perisic really did step up in crucial moments.

Yeah, that Belgium Japan game was great as well. That was Belgiums best ever team.

Been waiting for this! That French squad was so stacked 💪🏽
Yeah this France team was def the best in the World at this time.
Modric really took a much deserved shot at the English media at the end there.

Yeah, England has done really well these past few years. They just need to break through and finally win one now.

This world cup is the only time in my life that I remember Croatia being positive about the future

0:30 can’t forget about Edinson Cavani’s iconic brace against Portugal in the RO16. That curler was clean

I felt bad for Croatia 🥲
Not gonna lie that 8 1998 and 2018 is winning France a world cup when it's 8
Reaching final Croatia was more difficult then winning with France
Croatia had an unbelievable tournament. Amazing to think how much they have achieved despite having such a small population.

Waiting for 2022 world cup, keep it up!
Thank you for the kind words. The 2022 video is in editing at the moment. It should be uploaded in 2 weeks.

What are you goona talk about after the world cup
Whould you talk about the euros or something else maybe champion league ;
I read he'll cover the Euros next
Yes, I'll be doing the EUROs next. I did put a poll out, and that was the most popular vote.
@@TheSportsFiles-mm1kgok
Mbappe will win another world cup
It's certainly possible. If he stays fit, he will probably play 2 or 3 more World Cups and France still have a very good squad.
@@TheSportsFiles-mm1kg Yeah,,, I mean currently I think the main competition for France in terms of good squad for the future is Spain...
On the whole, the least memorable World Cup I can (hardly) remember.
