At one time had 2-2766, 2-3066, and 2- Volvo A25. All excellent trouble free trucks. Volvo parking chamber went bad, cost a small fortune. Terex never down. Batteries and tires all we did to them

Worked for an outfit that had a fleet of the 2366 - 6 cyl Deutz and 4066 - V10 Deutz. Later on a fleet 4066C - series 60 Detroit.

You keep bringing back the memories:) I've worked on all three of those in the nineties. The Terex artics as I recall were made in Europe. I've never seen one with a Detroit in those days. All were Deutz engines and ZF transmissions. Biggest problems were the transmissions and brakes. We never got a definitive answer on the reason that the transmission gave so many problems but figured they use on that was one size too small for the loads and speeds they were traveling. No tilting cabs in those days either. You had to completely unbolt and lift them out to pull the gear box. I was at a dealer then and we weren't allowed to rebuild them either. Get the exchange out of the box, shift any parts from the old across and load it back into the truck.
The brakes were just over sized automotive disc brakes running open to the elements. The dirt packed into them and they wore out pretty quick. The good part about those brakes is that you didn't have to pull the final drives to get them off. The bad part was you were doing them all the time.
The Cat D400 was a pretty good truck in its day. It still had issues but lasted way better than the D550.
All the artics back then liked to flop the boxes over. Steering could be a problem at times and those shotgun lift cylinders were always leaking.
All the good times are past and gone.

The rock polisher had a little and big white ones with Allisons and 60-series motors. They also had a square hooded Cat and a Moxie that the Yankee wrench man redid the cab afrer it got flipped. They also had a 950, a 966 and the old 980F till the G came in 02.Lots of stuff came and went to the other quarry. I still liked the 115 Z-IV. Ran it a lot. They had 2 Cat trucks and ran between 12 and 1400 tons an hour. Blessings.

Looks like they've still got lots of life left. Just waiting on the right buyer. I've always wondered about those extra seats, is that for training or so your boss can ride along to make sure you're not goofing off. 😅

See their old logo still on the odd left over piece now and then. A 235 sitting around here has it.
