@@RyanMyersExpeditions Just wondering what time in the moon phase this was? I have seen some days where the fish just wont come in. Same spot, same fish, totally different behavior. Some days, they come right in on the grunt, but sometimes they are just keeping their distance. Still trying to firm up some ideas on why and get more "data" but I feel it mostly happens around a few days after a full moon and on slack tide. The theory being that during full moon, there's enough light that the fish can hunt and feed more hours of the day and they may not be very hungry and thus less curious.
Awesome idea with the tako! I've done the same thing before but with a mutton. A kingfish ended up swimming up to it giving me a shot! Thanks for sharing!!🤙🤙
Howzit🤙🏾 idk if you saw that other tako that was sitting right behind the first tako you caught. In the clip when your approaching the tako you can see the 2nd slide back into his hole😂😂
Curious to see the weight on these MU! Great catch. Maybe incorporate weigh in at the end for bigger catches?? Keep up great channel. My favorite channel on UA-cam
yoo ryan love the vids mahn! im actually getting a new roller gun soon, it would be great if you did a video or even just a quick review on your roller gun. thanks again for the best diving vids out there man🤙🏾
The yellow lip emperor is much more difficult than Mu! They’re super shy and they bolt immediately upon seeing you. You have to be on the bottom before they see you.
Ryan, I feel like you should also show vids of you targeting less prized catches. You have an influence on other divers and if everyone just goes for prizes, it’s not a good thing. You’re an amazing diver, so please set a better example to be well rounded. Just because you can, doesn’t mean that you have to.
I agree. Dr Smokey is right. The traditions of Hawaiian law does not condone this type of behaviour for targeting the most prised fish. Let alone exploit Hawaiian fish stocks over fished with modern high tech spearguns. The kupuna or elders know these are kapu practises you are showing on these vlogs. Just a warning Ryan lots of people are watching. BTW I'm the dad.
are decoys for spearfishing a thing? Like as they are in duck hunting and what not. I can imagine a silicone octopus being waved around above your head while you're spearing
I kinda really want to try that now. I’ve used dead fish I’ve speared before to wiggle in my face but never a fake one. Actually may e flashers are kinda like decoys I guess they look like a school of bait.
Does anyone know why you feel sick after you take a drop because I took a drop today in 25ft of water and when I came back up I felt like I had to throw up and I felt dizzy, does anyone know the reason for this
I used to have this something about acid in ur stomach ... I would just try eat solids before my dive and as soon as I feel like throwing up I take my hood off and flush my wetsuit 🤙 hope that works. Shit sucked
Ryan so stoked how the channel is growing! Every video is beyond informational, you’re doing a great job as a teacher and creator.
Thanks Robbie! Really appreciate it!

It’s super convenient that you were able to grab a taco while you were down there. Super helpful if you get hungry! I’d love to know what was in it. 🌮

Nice. Nice and frustrating as well. Really makes you wonder what turned the uku off from you guys. The mu got curious and the uku became like mu!

Bro how do you fix your go pro to your wetsuit ? Any advise on it please 🙏
Can you do a full video of your gun and reel
The one in the vid is a 1200 rob allen wahoo carbon. Not sure if he’s using a mannysub or rob allen roller head tho 😅
yoo ryan love the vids mahn! im actually getting a new roller gun soon, it would be great if you did a video or even just a quick review on your roller gun. thanks again for the best diving vids out there man🤙🏾

What kind and size of your speargun? Thank you. Tom
Hey Tom shooting a 120 Rob Allen most of the time.
When you dive for take you have to tickle it so it will attach on better
Hey Ryan, saw you're using Moana's. Any reason you picked the euros over the hybrids?

for those of us that don't speak hawaiian pidgen:
taco = octopus
mu = sea breem?
uku = ?
Great videos BTW!
Thanks Tony always struggle what makes to put. Mu is a big eye emperor uku is a gray snapper.
Hawaiian Gray snapper
Tako is Japanese he'e is hawaiian for octopus 🤙🏾
@@kealiipimentel43 - okay, it's always tough to know with pidgen being such a cool mashup of languages...

Do you guys eat sea urchin?
Did you the bigger tako in front of the other one? If you look good you can see a booger tako go back in its hole right before you poke the other one
You ever cone to Maui me and friend would like for dive and learn some tips from you ,Check out my insta @braddah.keemz
Ya I saw the other one but I didn’t think I could catch two and shoot the uku at 90 feet. Didn’t know if one was bigger than the other either.

Space your grunts. You're not a fn dolphin. lol
Why do you need to kill fish? Just enjoy their beauty and leave them the alone.
