The thought that went into building both an experience for the human visitor and the animal resident is phenomenal. That's a whole new level of commitment. Thank you for taking us with you Dav!!!
These 2 parts don't do honour to how it really is (not saying the video's are bad, but it is just not doable to get the awesomeness of that place on screen). This is something you have to see yourself. I'm really proud this zoo is in my country!
I love the bat enclosure! Not only watching and listening to the bats but also the unique history that went into their enclosure! I'm so glad they didn't just demolish it!
I'm french and this place is a jewel and i enjoy you appreciate it :D Pairi Daiza is home for some unusual species like Komodo dragon, shoebill, tasmanian devil, siberian crane, moutain chicken (caribbean frog) or Astrochelys yniphora (Angonoka/ploughshare tortoise). They have 3 extinct in the wild species (Spix's macaw, Père David's deer and scimitar-horned oryx). Trivia : They have a mummified head of the mythical dodo, located near of the naked mole-rat enclosure Another trivia : I don't know if you've heard of it but there's a famous photo of an orangutan facing otters, this picture was taken over there in the enclosure at 2:30
Good news: thanks to the Pairi Daiza foundation (together with 2 other institutes in Brazil and Berlin), in 2022 twenty Spix's macaws were reintroduced in their natural habitat, and last year it was confirmed they are breeding in the wild once again.
I will be going there soon!!! Thanks for the turn-on, Dave! Btw, whoever edits and picks the tunes for your videos is amazing! They are TV quality! ❤❤❤
11:37 Funny. I'm Dutch and I live in the Netherlands, but I'm close to the Belgian border. As such I've been in Belgium many times. My first rollercoaster ride was there and my even the chair I'm sitting and the desk I'm typing this on come... From Belgium. Nevertheless, it's a summer of sports and I'll be suppoorting the Netherlands. But yeah, living here we rely a bit on Belgium. If I ever make it to Belgium? I can walk to it. And hey, if you're from Minnesota, you've got that a bit with Canada, right?
I hope you return to Pairi Daiza one day, because right now they're working on a brand new project. An indoor jungle inside a giant glass greenhouse. It's gonna be based on Latin-America, in other words: The Amazon. It'll even have the tropical warmth of that ecosystem. There's gonna be crocodiles, sharks, birds, monkeys, butterflies and manatees. There's even gonna be a restaurant and hotels underwater. From what I've heard, you can even sleep in the treetops. They're calling it 'The Sanctuary'. I've seen sketches of it and it truly looks amazing. They're still doing construction work on it and say it's gonna be finished in2024 or 2025. It's gonna be big! Another idea they had in mind is opening an animal shelter for mistreated pets.
They are the only zoo in the region that still work handson with the asian elephant, so when any zoo needs for example blood for a transfusion in the case of herpes, they are the only source, they saved many lives already. They also work on a conservation program for the extinct spix macaw, thanks to Pairi Daiza a conservation group has already released several couples into the wild. Yet this zoo is still on my wishlist.. Thanks for the amazing footage!❤
That orangutan exhibit! Omg! And I would also love to get a drink and just watch penguins. This zoo has put a lot of effort in for both their animals and guests. Amazing!
Fun fact/example of effort: during the covid lockdown, the orangutans were getting depressed (because they missed the visitors). To remedy this, and to enrich their lives, the caretakers introduced otters into the enclosure with the orangutans. It was a huge succes, and to this day, both species continue to share their enclosure with each other. Google search: "Zoo shares adorable pictures of orangutans playing with their otter friends" for more info.
I've been really waiting for part 2, what you have shown so far is incredible and it just keeps getting better. That lion has a very awesome head of hair stunning. 😊 thanks for sharing and you have an amazing day dāv
It may look like the elephants dont have that much space but behind that temple u saw there is a giant enclosure where the elephants and some antilopes can graze and bathe. Its the biggest enclosure ive ever seen in any zoo that isnt a safari drive through
It’s not a dungeon but the crypt of a old church. It’s under the clock tower of the church. The zoo is built at the emplacement of a old monastery from the 11 century. They still brew their own beer in the brewery. The river passing there is the “Blanche “ who gives his name to a famous belgian beer…
The majority is wheelchair accessible, but not everything. There's tons of steps, but most usually will have a different wheelchair friendly route nearby. Some routes will require you to take an akward turn back the way you came from (like that temple for instance in part 1). And a couple of exhibits will be downright impossible to see (the aquarium, the white tigers and the boat with the amfibious animals). Also best to avoid the park during July-August, since the park tends to get really crowded.
They actually have a reptile house (inside a big boat), and even an aquarium. I live in Belgium and go to this zoo once a year, and i can tell you that he only managed to show a half of the park. It's almost impossible to explore the entirety of this place in one day. What i can say he missed to show is : the reptile house, the aquarium, the european section (mostly farm animals), the north american section (with wolves, brown bears, seals,...), the big aviaries (with condor, eagles, ect), the australian section (where you are inside the exhibit of the kangoroo's), the Oasis (with desert animals). I could also listed all the animals he missed because all the different section of the parc are huge and have different roads to explore (white tigers, komodo dragons, otters, red pandas, Siberian tigers, casoars, shoebills, and many more). Also, Pairi Daiza is currently building the biggest tropical exhibit of the world (or at least Europe).
This is so kool, I wish we had better zoos in California, we have some kool animals here and there, but nothing amazing, Now the aquarium is pretty kool, I live in the south bay, San Francisco bay area , so i live 30 min from everything, Monterey ,Santa Cruz . and just about everywhere you can want to visit is not far, but Its still nothing like this zoo ,,,,,

Btw, what did you think of the reptile part inside the boat?
It’s so hard to show it all in two vids so I’ll have to go back soon
@@DavKaufmansAdventures if or when you do, plz let me know and i try my best to come too 😉👍👊
I live 30 minutes from there, I got the 1 year pass and when i've got time (2/3h) I go for a little walk here, amazing place
I love the bat enclosure! Not only watching and listening to the bats but also the unique history that went into their enclosure! I'm so glad they didn't just demolish it!
Wow! Dav, I could have watched a full hour episode of you covering this zoo. That place is incredible!
Thank you!
3:01 easy there, fella!
Great video! 🌞
I live pretty close to pairi daiza and it really feels like a second home to me. Really recommend going!

They really spent a lot of time on the details- both for their animals and visitors!

Thank you. That would be me :)

The details on their design and layout is so breathtaking.

I agree!
Pretty incredible! The work put in to accommodate the animals is amazing! Rattle on!
Agreed!
Amazing that they turned that dungeon/catacombs into a bat cave. Brilliant zoo.
Right?

💜💚great video💚💜
Thank you!
In the Africa part there is an awesome boat with reptiles and in the part where you enter, there is an aquarium
Hey Dave. Big Hello from Bali Reptile Rescue. Miss you and Adam. We are off to Bandung Zoo on Wed. Let you know if it is worth a trip. Loved the vid❤
Dude... so epic!
#RattleOn
Ha ha the Cheeseburger exhibit-right this way 🔜🍔
Lol. Spoiler alert. We found them :)
I spend two days every two years there because it is so big that two days is really a minimum to see most of the place without being in a rush.
They have the largest elephant herd in Europe
there seems to be a lot of steps is it not wheelchair accessible?
I’m not sure actually. Sorry
The majority is wheelchair accessible, but not everything. There's tons of steps, but most usually will have a different wheelchair friendly route nearby.

the owner must be rich as hell or rich investors , the country theme are no joke
Singapore zoo should be next Dave!
I’d love to go there one day!
It was cool, but I was hoping that they would have a reptile house.

The Hyena was my favourite.
The owner of this parc is a billionaire from the chemical industry, so he doesn't really care about costs
You have skipt a part of the zoo. Australia and north America
You did less than the half of the zoo!
Believe me im from belgium!
There’s a part 1 on the channels as well
This is so kool, I wish we had better zoos in California, we have some kool animals here and there, but nothing amazing, Now the aquarium is pretty kool, I live in the south bay, San Francisco bay area , so i live 30 min from everything, Monterey ,Santa Cruz . and just about everywhere you can want to visit is not far, but Its still nothing like this zoo ,,,,,
There are still some cool places there though
@@DavKaufmansAdventures There is , I guess I'm just used to them because I have never left Cali,
I thought the San Diego Zoo was one of the World's best?
Was just coming here to suggest a trip down to the southern part of your state not only the San Diego Zoo but the San Diego wild animal park
Where is part 3
, 4 , 5.. 😂 you miss a lot of animals.
