I noticed the ignore durability loss applies to all your gear not just grandfather while equipped for what that’s worth
It actually makes all your gear indestructible never have a repair cost again

Love the channel, first place I come when I drop a new unique item. I dropped grandfather today from Durial in a 3 man party. This thing is crazy takes my crit strike damage from the 600s into the 1200s. I was running black river and lidless wall in a bone spear/corse explosion build but this is finding a home instead of BR. Keep up the good work!!
Got a Grandpa today. Only my 5th or 6th Duriel run on this barb. My buddy used his mats as well as I had none left. 😊

Just got one yesterday! The health is actually the best part of the sword. It allows you to run with sub-max armor & resistances & still complete tier 100s.
Got my first, and second grandfather tonight, went 0-50 then 4-70. The thing is a beast! I might need to pick up more crit damage rolls
I got the Ring of Starry Skies on my 20th Duriel run so that's not too bad. Now I want this and the Harlequin Crest Shako.
Dropped last night for me. MAN was that alot of farming to get it. Literally the fruit of my labor 😂

The durability loss counts for all your gear while you have the grandfather equipped. Not just the grandfather

@ThroughT1m3 yeah they do that for most uniques. It's part of the trade off for a powerful item. You can find the devs and content creators like wudijo and rax talk about it all the time. The weapon is still one of the best weapons in the game for barb and necro

You actually don't have durability loss on any of your gear when you have the grandfather equipped I fought Uber lillith a few times after I got mine on my necromancer and I died a couple times and none of my gear lost any durability.

I once got this in D1! It's two handed sword but can be wielded one handed, so cool. (Also because in D1 there's no animation of the player character holding sword two handed).
I found it! Using my Shadow Summoner Necro. I know it's not labeled best in slot on maxroll, but I'm using it anyway. Can't wait to give it to my WW Barb after the season ends.

With The grandfather, Harlequin Crest and Doombringer equipped my Barbarian has an insane amount of AP and Health. My hota build is literally a nuclear bomb.
What aspect did you replace doombringer with my Hota went from hitting 600mill to 400 with doombringer I took that shit off💀

I running 100 times on my barb I got doom bringer and 2 of these Uber unique amulets I want grandfather as well will do crazy dmg with grandfather now I crit for 50mil dmg hota barb my max crit. If I have grandfather will be 100mill or maybe 150
This video is just incorrect, the grandfather does not double your crit damage stat. It takes the damage of your critical strike and straight up doubles it. As Ginger shows in the video the crit damage stat goes up and makes no sense, I believe this is a bug. It doesn't actually increase that stat at all anymore. I have tested this thoroughly at the training dummies, and with the setup i used the sword only increased that damage bucket by 27% (on the stats screen), however my actual in game crits with great consistency were precisely doubled on both the low and high ends.

I showed the crit increase in the character screen because it was a visual change. I also clearly stated more is going on that what the character screen is showing us.
But it clearly is x2.00
I even ran the numbers on the crit increase in the panel and showed that the crit damage increase did not match the 2x multiplier.
yeah, they could put a little bit more work in to make tooltips more accurate, a lot of things in this game are super misleading. But for most builds the way the sword works is a positive, because you don't need to stack crit damage do get maximum effect out of this beautiful weapon@@GGMentor

They’ve just hotfixed the game so now all chests in helltides drops 1 living steel. Makes it a little easier.

I think you aren’t understanding grandfathers 100%x. It works the same way tibault does except the condition for it to apply is that you crit. It literally does double your dmg when you crit. The only reason why you only see it on the tooltip as magnifying your added crit dmg only is bc they share the same conditional, but the tooltip is largely misleading (due to the conditionals not being well reflected) so ignore that. If you test it it’s a global multiplier just like anything else with an “x”

Characters grip position on the sword is completely wrong
20 runs… no Uber…
These uniques are cute and fun, but more often than not, they can hamper a solid and balanced build. With no way to change an afix, they are all limiting. Aside from Tibault's Will, Soulbrand, and Razorplate, none of these are worth the headaches of pursuing/farming.
There is basically nothing you are putting in the two handed sword slot that beats a grandfather.
And no there are a lot of uniques worth using now.

Imagine grinding for a Grandfather and then loading it with Topaz gems.
Basic builds like Frenzy, claw etc. Build off of basic skill damage. Topaz is give basic skill damage

Ignores durability loss is the most garbage statistic in all Diablo 4. And you find it in an "uber" unique. The only real uber stat is the +life which is insane.
Indestructable is really just flavor text
So might not be as garbage as you think I was testing out some things yesterday and I died about 5 - 6 times and I went to check my gear to see what was damage and how bad to see If i should go back to repair. Nothing was damaged at all.
I am not just saying the Grandfather didn't take durability damage, I am saying nothing I had on at all took durability damage it was all still at 100 despite several deaths and retreats.
@@GGMentorok that makes it a little bit better but repairing your gear is an issue only if you are low on gold. And most people by the time they find one of these aren't. So I don't think it helps in a meaningful way. It is a small convenience.

You were attacking while moving to abuse the undying vampiric power.
This is basically an exploit because keyboard and mouse users can't do this.
So yes you were cheating.

As I said it's obvious you needed that exploit to compete as you woulda died 20-30 times without it.
I got andariel, doombringer, shaco and finally grandfather now I can destroy it and get chroma skin from those items.

its not 100x. its 100%x meaning it takes what you have and multiplies by the amount, in this case its 100% of itself. for example if your crit damage is 550% you now deal 1100.
I literally go over this during the video, you put in a decimal place.
40x is 1.40x
100x is 2.0x
@@GGMentor yea 100% is itself. its added to itslef. it isnt double. if again. you have a flat 500% and you equip grandfather. it now becomes 1000 not 1500.
It’s better than that actually. It just doubles the dmg that you would otherwise do when you crit. Everything that contributes to your dmg when you crit get that value, so it doesn’t just double your additive crit dmg. It’s a straight up 2x whenever you crit, way better than any other aspect that you could slot in 2H slot.

If crit damage is just multiplying all damage done. Than if grandfather doubles that it doubles all damage.
While it would be interesting seeing the equations behind the scenes I think we can agree its a crazy damahe bump and nothing else you can put in that slot comes close.
I got two of them in a matter of 30 runs. That is two Grandfather's and 2 Harlequins.
