@@AngelAguilar-dh1jz There are lots of good options. A good starting point would be to increase voltage to the motor from 24V to 36V by adding a third battery wired in series with the two existing batteries. This usually requires upgrading the motor controller from 24V to 36V. Next, you can look at upgrading the motor to 36V or even 48V (careful, above 42V can shock you). Take a look at the gearing too. If you add voltage and/or a bigger motor, you will have more torque to work with, and you can run taller gears for more top speed, if that is your goal. However, taller gears can be a disadvantage on grass and other off-road surfaces. Gas motors can be a good option too if you don't mind more work, and the noise and heat that they generate. There are good websites with parts and kits like electricscooterparts.com (no affiliation). Stay tuned for new videos soon on this topic.
Just came here to say your dad is awesome!! Just did some maintenance on my kid's razor bugger - lube, new batteries and harness, tires. Nothing like this, though.
Anybody who can help me me upgrade my son’s dune buggy let me know how much 💲
Sure!, what kind of help are you looking for.
@@nredextreme8240 need to make my son’s Dune buggy faster.. idk, add a second battery or change electrical to a gas engine?

Thats what my buddy says! It's true!
Sorry about the comments turned off, they are back on!
Hey the motor you used was a brushed motor im right?
@@friwait9490 Yes.
You might want a Lithium-Ion batt pack
Great video. Thanks for making this!
My pleasure!
Please make a video of you racing this dune buggy at a Nascar race I think you're gonna definitely win
When you upgraded to the 48V battery did you have to make any modifications to the motor or the speed controller
Seems like there’s a better way
If you had this to do over again would you do a 48v motor?
nice video but the buggy doesnt seem that much faster
pretty sick
Vroom vroom
I did the same thing but I need bigger wheels and tires if you have an suggestions.... The cart has so much torque it needs bigger wheels
I will look into that Thanks
liverrot There are not too many wheel choices out there. I am still researching.
Ahh! Here it is! I think off-road skate board wheels might work🤔
Why didn't you use lithium ion batteries vs LA. Lighter weight faster charging
I did in a different video.
@@nredextreme8240 do I have to change the controller to 36 volts if I'm using 2 dewalt batteries? Or will running 2 damage the controller
@@nredextreme8240 ...hunting for that video now! :)
Hi, did you guys ever state the upgraded speed of the dune buggy?
Oh no I guess I did not! It went 10mph roughly.
Why didn't you put a lithium bank on it? Seems like a missed opportunity
Well wouldn’t it cost alot?
What brake kit is that? I need one for my 48v 1800w drifter
Its the stock one. It can improve the brake if you replace the brake cord and put new brake pads in.
How fast did it go after the upgrade
Roughly 10mph.
Just because you can does not mean you should. Hope it all worked out OK.
It did! (after Crashing it into a fence!)
I bet you're fun at parties
how much dose that mod cost
Roughly 300$
How much did this cost?
about 300$ will reply when i knwo
do you have a link to the upgraded parts?
No sorry I will let you know as soon as possible. Thanks for watching!
