Someone I know complaints about their mate's weight all the time to me. I used to say how mean it sounds to hear anything bad about their other half. Now I don't comment. What should I say? Because I'm really sick of hearing the problem.
I wish there was a "LOVED" button! "I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!!" A TRULY NEEDED PLATFORM FOR ALL GENERATIONS, PAST PRESENT & FUTURE!!!! WOW WOW WOW!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@MichaelJrComedy First time seeing both of you & listening to your marriage podcasts. This podcast is so good. The marriage advice is spot on and from a counseling background, it is excellent! My husband and I listen to every episode together; it not only makes us laugh out loud but sparks great conversation between us and we look forward to it! I know you are helping so many people.
These are truly keys for everyone I am listening as a single woman desiring marriage one day. The comments about becoming a better you and knowing the triggers and why really hit home. I am growing in a powerful way. I always wondered why certain things bothered me but I never thought to go deeper. Thank you both!! This is such an amazing show I am grateful for this wisdom! God bless you in all you set your hands to do.
I Love you Brother Michael JR, Seeing you and your wife in this new venture is so Beautiful and encouraging. Blessings to you and your faimily. Keep up the work for the glory of God. In Jesus Name!
Never saw this before but you really dropped some gems! I love thé general idea of get yourself straight so the world can’t rattle you. Godly goal. Thanks much!
My husband and I were married at 16 Yrs old and now it's been 19 Yrs Married by Gods Grace!!! Now is when we are Seeking Tools and How I Would've desired to do the Work beforehand 😭😭😭So Much would've been resolved!! It's a Long Journey but Worth the Work💓💓🙏🏼
This is Beyond Amazing 🥲 at 19 min when she says "make sure u have done the work before u get Married, it's Not Enough to Love God and Each other.. you need tools "💯 🎉
Love the question about longevity of marriage. I've been married for 33 going on 34 years in June 2024. I agree God, then wife then kids. Thanks very much Cevin
I LOVE THIS SHOW! And you two make my soul happy lol...seriously, it has been amazing to learn and laugh at the same time...a MJ YT video helped me deal with a challenging season and I've been a follower ever since.
OH MY GOOOOSH-SHAA! I just happened to come across this & "I Absolutely L❤VED IT!" This is so Very Helpful! Even though I'm divorced?! I'm gonna use this & keep it! Because it can help me! But I'm gonna pass it to those who I know "NEED" to "HEAR" this! WOOOW! Thank you, Ms. Ebony & Michael Jr! I don't have words for what you all have said & shared! Love you both & love your comedy, Michael Jr. ❤❤❤❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
This was a really good podcast. There have been some things going on that this one hit home. The subjects were on point though the situations were different.
Love this new format from you! Thank you!! You guys bring real life answers with laughter😂 sadly I went through unwanted divorce 2 yrs ago. God has done much healing and I keep learning how better to treat a spouse, should God bring another man into my life❤
Great stuff here you two! I am 57 and been married twice and what I have seen is people getting married too young, thinking the other person will complete them, fact is, they can only find that inner peace themselves (my first lesson) I hear many women complaining about their husbands, stating 'he has changed.' My 2cents? When a man is 'courting' a woman (which is French for wanting in her drawers...heheh) He does all types of awesome things for her, talks really sweet, gives her compliments, he dresses nice, takes her to dinner, the club, the movies, gives her gifts, has long talks on the phone with her. Then the woman says, "Ok, i'll slip deez drawers off for you." And soon after, slowly but surely, many men stop (or slow way down) doing all those things he did for her in the beginning. So she clamps the legs shut, thinking it will get that derailed train back on track, leaving the man bewildered, cause we are blind and stupid. (my second lesson) Communication, love and respect go a long way, but we must first have it for ourselves, only then to share with someone special. 💞🙏 Much love.
I think the man that keeps getting criticized by his in-laws should have a sit-down with them and his spouse and explained to the parents that he and his wife are one therefore when they critique you in a not good way there critiquing their own daughter. There should be no disrespect from either side of the table. Married 37 yrs one marriage for both of us. TY mr & mrs JR!
Great insights once again! Would add one thing from mine and my wife's books, "The Authority of Love, Second Edition" to your priorities and "gaps"...God......gap......."marriage,".....gap.....spouse.....gap....children/family...gap...church...gap...others...gap...work...most folks scratch their head with the 2nd and 3rd priorities and ask, "Hey Greg, marriage and spouse are the same thing, what's up?" My response is, "Are they really?" Eventually I explain that when you enter into Covenant Marriage the 2 become 1 and that "1" then takes priority over each of you as individuals. Many still are scratching their heads and then I ask, "How often have you seen marriages fall apart because one spouse is accommodating the other spouse to the detriment of the marriage and then using this in the divorce proceedings to claim they did what their spouse wanted?" Now the light begins to come on. We need to place our marriage above our spouse and our self in order to make decisions that are helpful for each of us and for the marriage itself which blesses and benefits our children, family and Christ's Church! Thanks for all you guys do and God bless in Christ (John 3:30)!
I was wondering Micheal Jr. and Ebony if i could give my take on the first voice mail/question. The aspect of being too comfortable i think comes from modern idea on the media and around that marriage, love and relationships should be exciting, spontaneous and electric, and so when the excitement goes away, the attraction goes away and the relationship comes to an end. So the the need to put in extra work and effort (which on its own is fun and great when looked at from the right perspective but general is not at the moment) to keep the union going is reduced / eliminated.
Michael Jr., you’re brilliantly hilarious AND a Christian🙌🏾 ➕ the More Than Funny show resulted in my favorite comedian switching from Dave Chapelle to you. Thank you two for doing this great podcast together.👍🏾 I’m only at the 11min mark & heard the man’s phone question re the order of relationships in marriage. I know that it’s God 1st, then husband & wife, then children. I also know that wisdom, common sense & other-centeredness implies that when babies & toddlers need to be prioritized re constant feeding, diaper changing, etc., and the wifey’s barely getting a bathroom break… not to mention a shower …AND had a C-section… that’s hardly the season for hubby to play the priority card.
I enjoy both of you sharing wisdom with us. We all agree God first, spouse second, children third and everything else after children. The man that called in about his in-laws talking or treating him rudely, I experienced that for too many years & I am here to share that yes, his spouse should say something to her parents because she should love her husband and this should hurt her too. They are One….. My now ex after over 30 years of marriage put his mom before me and wasn’t bold & didn’t speak to his mom, the enemy came in and ruined my marriage. I stuck it out but I am better off now without them in my life regularly. They all live in a different state than me but I pray their eyes will opened before it is too late.
I have a question. At 31:40 how did it make you feel to hear your wife explaining another man in a way that seems sketchy at least to me. I'm married and I would definitely see that as something to think on or examine. Was it hard to accept? How did you handle that?
I love this show. I’ve only just discovered it and now I hear that you are ending the show. That’s very sad. Btw, you mentioned a giveaway yet when I went to the website, it is not free at all.
Hello! Hi, my name is Mrs. Lisa Wilson, Just some friendly Godly advice, to help women out, men usually leave out of a relationship not because of another women, but because the women won't be quiet, women leave out of a relationship usually because she doesn't get enough attention. Men and women please always tell your spouse on a constance basis how good of a job their doing, let your husband know how good of job his doing as a husband and as a father. Same way with a wife, husband tell your wife how good of a job she is doing as a wife and mother. The more you tell each other the more the spouse wants to do for you without even asking, because your showing by telling them how much you appreciate them. But always keep God first in everything you do.
Michael Jnr...I was wondering....Would you like to hear what it's like to be a British Paras daughter?..😂...Army Bratt....Dad passed @ 94 ....Mum @ 72...I'm 68yrs...They had a 54yr marriage...8 kids....they loved each other.....Dad used to stand watching us fighting look @ his watch and say....It's time for you lot to go play with the traffic!.....miss this at you peril...How on earth did you get such a stunning wife???!🇦🇺
What’s up Fam? Great episode as always. I have a suggestion for a light hearted upcoming episode. “The infamous eye roll”. Every husband knows this look from wifey. It’s either she’s tired of our annoying habit (humor/corny jokes) or our annoying habit is entertaining to everyone but her…deep down, she knows it’s funny. She’s just jealous 😂. Thoughts?
The biggest word in Marriage Kindness=common courtesies and in all you get get understanding. Most dint understand conflict resolution And lovebit when something bothers us why
The question about the couple being too friendly, I think he might have meant, they are less intimate, and more friends, maybe even to the point of no intimacy and just friends..
Yes, I was thinking the same. Maybe getting into a friend zone or roommate zone. But! - you wouldn't be going to the restroom with your friend. So, I don't know. 🤷🏾♀️
About the in-laws, I will add that sometimes the inlaws know the wife well i.e. they share common values or they recognize things the spouse wants( needs sometimes)... The spontaneous comments of the in laws might be an important message...wake up call to the spouse or the family espousing their values .... I don't think it should always be dismissed.
I don’t even talk to my husband right now and I am heart broken! He is telling me to drop the lawyer that I got because he left with our son! I know he reasons he did it for now but at the time it was dire that he would let me see him and he refused and the law could not tell me where he was! When I did find out it really upset me because the reason he left was not entirely true because I found a written paper that he wrote saying all these things almost as if this were all planned out! He doesn’t hear anything I say about how things are supposed to be! I don’t do this to shove the Bible down his throat but God is a God of order! Anything less is not what I want! God , me , our son and work!
I love your podcast! I’m going to be seeing you in Indiana on Friday with some girlfriends!♥️ July 14 at the Morris! I hope you talk to me in the audience lol my name is Christine Singleton! I’m not familiar with the other 2 comedians but looking forward to a girls night out! 🎉♥️God Bless you and Ebony🙏♥️😇
On the second question, it occurs to me when Jesus was asked "what is the most important commandment?", He replied love, love, and love. All the law flows from this, Jesus said. So if you're putting Jesus first, you're following this command and loving your spouse as He loves you. How does God love us? He loves us as a father loves his children, the Bible tells us.
I am a widow of 20 years and would like to have a male friend and although I am very active in church I have not been successful. Dating websites has not worked either.
By the fruit of the Spirit you will know them. Criticism or rebuke depends on Spirit of God or talking from the flesh. Self-serving pride or actually trying to come to a closer, loving relationship.

Hey Mike. Married people friends awesome! BUT not only friends or its a problem.
I get it! Is everyone in on this! I don’t understand this! So I need to drop the lawyer and then I can have access to him!
Conflict...finish or complete the resolved ConflictING conversation.

One of the reasons i married my husband is because he shares his food with me . If he didn't i wouldn't have married him 😂
I'm listening since I don't have any friends 😂
