Please Hasbro, get Travis Knight or another super fan of Transformers to make this movie! Get Chris Butler (who directed ParaNorman and is working on Masters of the Universe with Travis Knight) or David Leitch (who directed The Fall Guy) or Joseph Kosinski (who directed Top Gun: Maverick and was supposed to direct ROTB when it was originally just “Transformers”) to direct this thing. Get people who respect the franchise and won’t bastardize the lore.
Steven was a fan. He gave us what we wanted.
I still think this crossover film is really unnecessary. Just stick to a simple Transformers film. Autobots vs Decepticons. No MacGuffin, no artifact. Just Megatron coming to Earth to conquere the planet and uses Charlie to get to the Autobots. Simple

A Shame Caple isn't returning and also likely Travis Knight won't either since he's doing He-Man, maybe they'll get Joseph Kosinski? He made Paramount a Billion with Topgun 2 and has worked with Hemsworth before.

So help me if Hemsworth is shunted to voice Optimus in the next film in favor of Peter Cullen. I don't care if he plays a Joe, but I swear, he'd better not be used as the "new Optimus" beyond TF One.
Someone will eventually have to be the new Optimus. Might as well be Hemsworth if he does a good job in TFOne.
@@danielmedela8725 Chris Hemsworth, regardless of his good qualities and (I'm certain) hard work to honor Mr. Cullen, is ill suited for the role. For one, he has never played an archetypal knight/hero, as Thor was more of a Dark Ages warrior/barbarian king who became humbled, yet still possessed a degree of pride in himself. Optimus has been a humble hero since the franchise started, with no pride or arrogance to his name, and has always seen his rank/title of Prime as unimportant to who he is as an individual.
Hemsworth excels in heroes who are "the lovable jock" types: big, strong, occasionally silly, and not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Casting him as Optimus/Orion is beyond acting against type, it's asking him to bend over backwards and squeeze himself into a role that, if an A-list name *must* be chosen, should have _at least_ gone over to Chris Evans, who has proved himself capable of playing knightly characters as seen by his performance as Captain America.
I hold no ill will toward Chris Hemsworth, however I see many flaws in the casting of him as Optimus, and I am almost one hundred percent certain that Transformers One will leave a stain on his record and infuriate numerous other people.
@@autobotjedi3457 You have a good point, but it is called acting for a reason. And given that it is a voice role, Evans voice is not deep enough. Still, starting from Orion Pax is a good way to judge how he would do as Optimus down the line.
And let's face it, nobody can beat Cullen. But eventually someone will have to rise and light our darkest hour.
@@danielmedela8725 thank you, and while I understand that it is acting, it is also specifically _voice_ acting. Voice over requires more vocal effort and strain, none of which Hemsworth has prior experience in, as this is his first foray into animation. Evans, while admittedly not as deep as Peter Cullen or Hemsworth, has had experience in animation, first with the 2007 TMNT animated feature and more recently with Lightyear. So while he might not be deep enough, he has the necessary experience and acting capabilities for a role like Optimus.
I understand that someday we will need someone to take over Optimus for Peter Cullen. However, while I pray that that day is far off, I also feel it should be at least Neil Kaplan - who voiced Optimus in the 2001 _Robots in Disguise_ anime - who should step up to the plate. He proved himself a good stand-in, and endeared me to his performance on account of how closely he followed in Mr. Cullen's footsteps. And if Kaplan cannot be gotten for the role, then someone else who can reach Mr. Cullen's range of soft-spokenness, gentle nature, and firm commanding presence should take over Optimus' voice in the future. I can think of only one other I would wish to take up the mantle other than Kaplan, but even then, he is, as far as I'm aware, inexperienced with both the franchise and voice work.

Let's hope they write a good story in which they explain things well. Maximals were introduced without providing much information about their history "warriors of your past and future". Anyone who hasn't seen Beast Wars has no idea what it means. More attention to detail is needed. so far, in my opinion, the best remain Transformers 2007 and Bumblebee.

Would like Travis knight but he's directing he man movie for 2026 release so his return is unlikely. Personally I would like to see Michael bay come back as director for this one. But that's just me. Hope they announce a release date soon.
So a good but already known piece of news, and a minor good news for the crossover movie: it´s gone from sure flop to has a slim chance.

@@LLockdown877 Based on what was on screen, him saying stupid shit that proves he never watched Beast Wars, and that the scene he said would be what he wanted in a movie, the Transit scene, and how underused the Maximals are, no. What he wanted was to make a sequel to The Last Knight. And the studio saddled him with a Bee sequel and the Maximals. He has said the opposite in one interview and admited he didn't want to make this kind of movie in another. In short, contradicting his own interviews in other ones.
