Wish more people understood this. Being a bad actor and being ANY kind of actor who has to muck through trite scripts are two very, very different things. McCoy's doctor was so alien and so Doctorish that I'm always surprised when people spew blind hate when, in reality, some of the scripts he had to act through (his first season, basically) where intentionally experimental trollop -- AND the BBC were unashamedly trying to BURY the damn show to boot. I'm just glad Colin & Sylvester can finally get to enjoy a bit of love now that people know the history of the situation.
I wish they were in the 50th even if it's just all of them sitting in a pub drinking a pint and 10 and 11 just walk by and they all just look at each other and just say, "Looks like someone's gonna need a doctor!" I would die happy!
I totally agree. The Big Finish Productions with Colin Baker really have shown the depth of 6th Doctor and what he could have been with better scripts and more episodes.
I always thought his performance was great, but he was just held back by subpar scriptwork. I think his performances in the audio novels goes far to show us just how amazing of a Doctor he was.
"What, this Hobbit? He's not even a Hobbit. If he WAS a Hobbit I'd have a bit more respect for him. He's just some brown person." -- "He thinks I'm a bad HABIT, not a Hobbit really". Yep, giggled right into my tea-cup hearing that. "RatherGHASTLY Brown".
Such a shame that such fine actors were asked to work with such horrendous scripts and production. Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker had the luxury of fine stories and great production, so we may never know how good these two could have been.
I know they haven't got all of the living doctors together for the 50th Anniversary Special. But these men are the Doctor, and it would be a shame if they can't pull all of the living Doctor's together for a talk show/documentary and see the banter between David and Sylvester and Peter Davison etc on-screen.
Shame Colin Baker's Doctor is one of the lowest on peoples' lists of favourites. I thought he was great, though too short lived and with too many low quality scripts. Would love to see him don the coat again!
It's such a shame that doctor who was slowly starting to deteriorate during Colin baker and Sylvester McCoy's tenure on the series. Because The Television Networks At The Time Became Used To doing soap dramas and reality TV shows. That's How the BBC decided to pull the plug on the series for 16 years
I think Colin was one of the best doctors from the classic era
Definitely
I like both Colin and Sylvester. It took me a few episodes for them to grow on me.
I'd love to see more of these two chatting
I got to see Colin Baker in Louisville!!!! He is awesome!
Sometimes I have imagined Colin Baker acting as character named Tom Bom Badil.
I know it been two years ... but I think, bizarrely, that you are absolutely right.
dam... you nicked my role... no you gave it away... OUCH... what a kick in the teeth.
Both fantastic Doctors!
I don't think there's ever been a bad actor as the Doctor, just some bad scripts for them to be in.

Or unpolished.
I smell a sitcom with these two
McCoy and Baker exchanging banter...classic. What can I say?
Sylvester has got to be one of the oddest men ever. Just the way he looks, the way he talks. He's so odd. But awesome.

both amazing Doctors ❤ great banter between them
It's a Shame doctor who was facing the dark age period during their Eras

They need a comedy show together.
Hey Paul - really enjoyed those two interviews and have posted links to them on the Pratchett site I moderate. We have a lot of Who fans there.
These two together are adorable!!

The interviewer was rude to ignore Colin at the beginning of the interview.
i got a hug from colin at manchester comic con this year , he has a very very firm grip ^_^

I'd watch! They should really do that. It'd be awesome.
1:37 rip sylvester
Don't ever get rid of Ace Slyvester. She is my favourite companion closely followed by Sarah and Leela.
Sylvester Mccoy: Mr beans Dad
I've met Colin and Sylvester. Colin in 2011 and Sylvester in 2013.
Such a shame that such fine actors were asked to work with such horrendous scripts and production.
Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker had the luxury of fine stories and great production, so we may never know how good these two could have been.
They are still brilliant in Big Finish. With great stories

These two are great. How they Banter on and such.
My two favourite Doctors. Ironically, I got punched in the face by a Conan the barbarian duplicate for quoting colin's arguably most famous line.
7th, Ace, Hex; bliss
legomailman
See if you can ask him to do some scenes and try and record it.
you know there are two actors called baker wright ?
Right*
sorry .....
Somebody keep this around until 2063!
Leela could never be as good as Ace.
Ace is 80s Leela.
Ace was Leela of the 80s.
Why is that?
McCoy omg
yeah, he didn't even shake his hand!
Doctor Who celebration stuff is nowhere as good as being in the 50th Anniversary..... Which they should be!....... Damn you, Moffat!

Lol it is bizzare how the interviewer just ignores Colin at the start. Add that to colin's usual grumpy persona, not good.

I say Sylvester is Mr. Beans less speech impaired younger brother.
Colin has a great voice... If he would of been a good doctor
