Typically, contrabass trombones pitched in F have two valves. There are several tunings for the valves but the most common are F/D/BBb/AAb and F/C/Db/AA (used in the video). There are also contrabass trombones that are a full octave lower than bass trombone pitched in BBb. These instruments have the double wrapped slide and typically only have a single valve. One other oddball is the CC contrabass that Miraphone can make (check it out on HornGuys.com). That model has been made with two valves. At the end of the day, any brass instrument can be made with a blow torch and a dream. 😂😂😂
@@LowBrassU thank u for letting me know about this information cause I've never known and honestly I ask this is because I'm more of a low notes kind of guy I was never really good at high notes like my other trombone friends are and honestly I want to buy a contra bone and I want it to be low so that's why I ask of it has 2 triggers cause I know what 2 triggers are capable of (I know by the bass trombone but a contra would be overkill with the low notes but I would love it)
It’s a hand rest. Instead of the weight of the instrument being supported by just the ring and pinky finger, the hand rest allows the back of the hand to support the weight.
TMEA was lit this year!
It was a great time! I am planning on 2025!
@@LowBrassUwait at TMEA you get to play a crap ton of different instruments? Damn, in 2031 I’m finna go there
Is it free?
How do I sign up to go?
Can I hire you to play this excerpt every time I call home to tell parents that their student is failing music class?

I knew I recognized this man at TMEA!
seeing doreen play with lonestar was such a surreal experience
Is it true that, that contra bone has 2 triggers?

Bass trombones have 2 triggers
Wonderful arpeggio
I played on that trombone at tmea it was so cool
Cool
what is the thing on the back of their left hand for? is it a trigger?
It’s a hand rest. Instead of the weight of the instrument being supported by just the ring and pinky finger, the hand rest allows the back of the hand to support the weight.
ohhh, thats cool!
That is a hand rest that helps distribute the weight. Some people use these type of contraptions on bass trombone as well.
YO GUYS I WAS THE 1000th LIKE!!!
Get more types of tubas
I’ve got a few other instruments to purchase before buying another tuba.

@@Frankschnitzelsucker Contrabass trombone, bass trumpet, and cimbasso are the three instruments that I’d like to purchase before another tuba.
