Yep! As in this season. While I like Gwyneth and Jennifer, for me they didn't do enough or were not up to the other actresses (example: for the 1th Cate obviously and Meryl Streep and for the 2th Emmanuelle Riva and Jessica Chastain) But that's just me. :)

yes, I remember one year at the academy awards, they showed a video piece about the oscars and how they are solid gold and weigh almost 8 pounds. it was like a video following the oscars, from the time they get made to the time they arrive at the kodak theatre, and about how they are always surrounded by insane amounts of security. but yea I remember clearly the part that said they were solid gold
