    Man these are some great shots. I've had this watch for half a year and I loved everything about it, was my everyday watch. Got jumped and robbed recently, and unfortunately lost this watch in the process. With any luck I'll require it again sometime.
    Nice description about the watch too, very comprehensive.

      Wtf, you got jumped? Where do you live? Did they have guns? Was it one guy or multiple?

      @@user-go9tc3cw4b I live in the Netherlands, really safe and nice country for the most part, it was 5 immigrant teens with knives, guns are extremely illegal here.
      I was walking home from the train station (1 street - 5m walk) to my home the day after my bday and these guys apparently followed me the whole street down and then jumped me. They snagged my Sony xm3 headphones and my samurai (which I only had for 6months :c) and they demanded my phone. I kept refusing and then one guy stuck his knife point in my arm to try and make me give them my phone which was in my pocket. I refused and they ran.
      It's a very very specific and small part of the population here (we have a very multicultural population) that terrorize the rest of us. Real scum. Usually under 18yo which around here makes you immune for serious repercussions even if you were to murder someone.
      I spend more than 6 hundos on those 2 items and they can't possibly get more than half that. Split by five they didn't even earn a hundred bucks and that is how little morals these guys have. Robbery with assault for a quick buck.

      @@Canto00 Shit, that's unlucky dude. I always thought the Netherlands was really safe but I guess nowhere is perfect. At least you didn't get seriously hurt. Did you look online to see if they are trying to offload it on eBay? Also you should check local pawn shops to see if they tried to sell it there. If you can prove its urs (maybe you got a photo with the serial number or something) than the pawn shop or eBay have to give it to you. At least thats how it works over here in Australia.

      @@user-go9tc3cw4b yeah that's a good point. I've been checking the Dutch version of ebay but no luck so far and now it's been so long that there's little chance of me recovering the items. But at least they did not take more from me. Like my phone, backpack or new shoes I had on.

    This model is the one I wear. I have an 8 12” wrist (Popeye) and it’s perfect. Actually goes only 2/3 across my wrist span...if that makes sense. Great watch. Exceptional comfort. Brutal good looks (the watch too). Got mine for $299. Couldn’t say no. Thinking about Sapphire Crystal.

    Got mine for $420 at Macy’s but it’s made in Japan; bezel, chapter ring and indices align perfectly. Also you get a 3 year warranty.

    I just recieved this watch as a gift. $525, great looking watch. The size is perfect, not to big, but big enough that it gains attention. I have some friends who rock some Rolex watches that tell me it is a good looking watch. This is my second Seiko divers watch.

    Hardlex is 8 in the Mohs scale, sapphire is 9.But Hardlex is way more shatter resistant than sapphire. In a real world, i prefer my diver watches to be better protected, and hardlex is a better option than sapphire. To be clear, Seiko don't use hardlex to cut prices. You can find sapphire crystals for $10 at Amazon.

    A beautiful watch, one of considered buying for some time. I was put off somewhat by the feiko 3 section strap and cheapo pressed clasp, enough to not want to pay retail. Happily I've just taken delivery of a superb used watch, the watch head is perfect and the strap is scratch free but does have some slight wear marks, irrelevant as I'm waiting for a Strapcode hexad to arrive. I wish Seiko would up their bracelet game, for this sort of money it should be better with a milled clasp. The dial and case are outstanding tho' and the watch wears well, possessing that Seiko magic of wearing smaller than the dimensions suggest. I think in this age of very good Chinese homages the only reason to buy Seiko is their outstanding design, they certainly nailed it with this example.

    Mannn this is an amazing watch! I’m contemplating buying it.. the only issue I have is how large it is... 44 mm will look huge on my wrist.. I have about a 6 1/2 wrist.

    • @bevelwerks
      @bevelwerks  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Jamal! I think size is absolutely a valid concern with this watch unfortunately. For a 6.5" wrist, I think it will wear fairly large unless you happen to have a wrist that is more flat than round if that makes sense. That said, I definitely recommend heading into a store/dealer to try it on in person (if you can safely do it of course during these times). If thats not possible and you're still considering, you may think about making a paper "cutout" of the watch to get a sense of size. I've had friends do it in the past where they didn't have the option to try on a watch prior to purchase (off the internet). Good luck!.. Hope if the Seiko doesn't work out that you find something you can love just as much. Be well and cheers!

    Hii...im now confused, buying this samurai or King Samurai..whats ur opinion?

    • @atticus6572
      @atticus6572 Рік тому

      Personally, it's value versus aesthetics. I think regular Samurai's look better as they come in traditional/versatile colours, whereas the King Samurai only comes in vibrant colours. The King Samurai is better value on the used market though -- they can go for cheap.
      It's all things to weigh. Colours, cyclops, value, specifications, etc. What matters most to you?

One of my first watches, which I still own to this day, is the Orient CEX0R001D... and I swear of all the pieces I own, it gets by far the most compliments. I personally don't think this watch even looks like a divers watch. It's more like a dress watch disguised as a diver. Prefer the look of the Turtle's (Save the Ocean) for example..

    • @bevelwerks
      @bevelwerks  2 роки тому +2

      Looking at Seiko’s current collection I agree that this definitely is a distinctly different design from the rest of their lineup - that said, I do think it’s very much a dive watch with its rotating bezel and unique handset. Then again, if you consider a Rolex submariner or Omega seamaster a “dress” watch, then definitely could see the perspective you’re coming from.

      And I totally get that, it’s something I had to come to terms with in my review. I can forgive it a bit on a divers watch but if this had been 40 or even 42 it might have been a much more successful piece imo. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
