I don't know which city you guys are planning to visit the next, but you should probably get to know my hometown, Armação dos Búzios-RJ which is located in the Estate of Rio de Janeiro. A truly Paradise on Earth. lots of fun !
Tip: look for Praia Grande in SC where it is possible to fly over the biggest canyons in Brazil by balloons. Unmissable!!! Enjoy and go to Gramado where the Christmas lights are on until January 29, 2023. And then, take a trip to Bento Gonçalves in Rio Grande do Sul. Very safe travels.
Oooh thanks for all the tips 🙏 the balloon ride sounds amazing! And we wondered why all the Christmas trees and lights are still up. In the UK we take them down at the beginning of January 😅
Carne means the catch all meat, and it also means beef. If you see it on a menu, it means beef unless it says "carne de X", meaning meat of... X (chicken, pork, whatever). Beef could be described as "carne bovina", but most people just say "carne". Also, if you're still in the area, look into visiting one of the many nice waterfalls in the region. I particularly like Cachoeira do Iriri, it's nearish the road going back in Angra's direction, but there are others closer to the city of Paraty that are great as well.
When looking for accomodation Pousadas and Airbnb is probably a better option in general in Brazil, its also easy to be fooled by good ratings on cheap places, they may be good in relation to the price for locals with small income but often dont measure up. I spent three years in total in Brazil and travelled extensively and you learn to recognise if its a good place or not online after a while. Hostels are generally not recommended and we shall not even start talking about Motels... Brazil is is a big place and while it may be a rainy season in parts of the country it can be dry season in other parts at the same time so planning and checking climate data can be important for an enjoyable trip.
Hey guys, don't miss Trindade near Paraty, it's even prettier, stay there for a few days, and visit the native Tupi Guarani villages, there is one at Paraty Mirim
18:17 That is probably cassava/manioc and not plantains. It's a starchy root from Brazil, and it's used pretty much like potatoes (fried, baked, mashed, as a dough base, etc). Here it's called Mandioca, Aipim or Macaxeira, depending on the region. It's a staple of Brazilian cousine. A highly recommended dish that uses it is Escondidinho (means something like "the hidden"): it's quite similar to a Shepherd's Pie, taking traditionally a type of corned beef as filling, but there's also versions with all kind of meats and vegetables. The beans are normally supposed to be poured over the rice as a kind of "sauce" or stew, instead of eaten as a soup. Rice and beans is another staple and the national dish of Brazil (since it's one of the few common dishes for all regions).
Wow the places you guys stayed must have been super cheap... Even though it's a surprise, because Brazilians are super clean people. You really got out of luck with those searches... Also, there are some things that are quite different in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro from the rest of Brazil. But go to Cabo Frio ou Arraial Do cabo in Rio de Janeiro is beautiful...
"Carne" is Beef, cattle, red meat... At least where I live so when you ask for carne you should expect red meat. The best beaches of the country are in the northeast btw. And I don't know where you've been eating but Brazilian food is actually very healthy compared to European food, the vegetables and fruits are fresh, not Frozen and they are naturally sweet.
It’s a shame we didn’t have a good experience of the food. We’ve heard other travelers have loved the food! We must have been choosing the wrong places 😢
In Brazil "carne" is red meat. Not pork, chicken or lamb, but red meat. Although: "Carne de porco" = something like "pork meat" "Frango" or "galinha" = chicken meat 🐔
I have been watching your videos and I see you got stuck in many tourist traps. Parati is beautiful, but you should not stay in the hotels or Airbnb in town. There are many excellent hotels to sleep along Rio Santos Road.
Stop with the 💩 nonsense those place in Rio are’t and neither dangerous. Some places in south are dangerous too but not all and Parati is not dangerous Sulista e sua mania de grandeza!

Usually, cheap hostels are not good.

I really don't know where you were going to have meals, but Brazil is known for its abundance of vegetables...

In Trindade there's a nude beach. Did you check that?
Carne = beef (although it can be translated to meat)
Visit Santa Catarina fica no sul é linda Camboriú 🇧🇷
*adds to the list* 🙏
🇧🇷🥰
Portuguese subtitles please
The constant complaining puts me off watching this,I lived in Paraty for 5 years and it was a fantastic experience 👌
POR FAVOR LEGENDA
trava lingua:guarana, kkkkk
I skipped the video and thought you had found another man for a minute looool.
salad bars are very common in brazilian buffets... you are probably going to the wrong places haha

Haha, that's not plantain, that's fried cassava or yuca and obviously the beans are not in açaí, but in their own sauce
Honestly I would go to the south of Brazil , i would not visit Rio and northeast, South of Brazil are safer and cleaner I say as a Brazilian
Bs, many cities in the south are statistically more dangerous than Rio, in fact, all tourist areas and others in Rio are relatively safe
Stop with the 💩 nonsense those place in Rio are’t and neither dangerous.
Some places in south are dangerous too but not all and Parati is not dangerous

Are Australians this sad? Or it is your age that makes you just complain all the time I wonder....OMG!
When in Brazil, we speak Portuguese. Don't like it? Don't come!
