Crossover Thrash metal, hardcore punk and Thrash, suicidal tendencies has crossover Thrash also, I came from suicidal tendencies to dri being my favorite crossover Thrash band
@letitia bradin Metallica was classically Thrash metal then turned into mainstream. Thrash metal is influenced by punk but isn't punk, it is a subgenre of metal.
Saw D.R.I. at a bar in Spokane Wa. For 5 bucks. Was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Their live sound is as good as their studio sound. Thanks Spike& Kurt for a great time that I'll never forget. The bar was Ichabods north on the Full Speed Ahead tour or something like that.
jeremy the band I use to play in , played at the north location all the time from like 99 to 2005 we use to practice upstairs before some one broken in an stole a bunch of gear lol. I remember trying to go to that show but had to work graveyard :(
i went to see DRI for the first time recently with my dad who has been seeing them for years, it was really unlike anything i've experienced! i got chills hearing songs that he's been playing for me since i was a kid, i left an even bigger fan and with ringing ears!!! i'll be seeing them again when they come back 🤘 rock on y'all
I remember seeing D.R.I. in the late 80s on mtv headbangers ball matter of fact it was this song and the next day I ran out to the local record store and bought it on cassette, awesome album thrash zone, still listening today, great band, you guys rock
This band's attitude is the absolute best. FUCK CONFORMITY! That's what I get out of it. And they lived it. They broke free from the shit society wants you to be, against all odds. Congratulations. You guys are an inspiration.
My friend ordered some cassettes from Columbia House for a penny & by mistake they sent him this album. He gave it to me because he didn't like it & I still have it.
"School's a job you dont get paid " - that's so damn true. Adults always saying "wait till you get into the real world and see how hard it is" but no job I've had has ever been worse than what you have to put up with in school. Plus as a fellow adult you don't have to put up with certain things you have rights and are listened to and can get legal representation. You can't do that at school, you're nothing. Whether anything gets done about your problems is up to the school.
So true. If I hate a job, I leave it instantly. Most parents will not allow that at all when you are in school you are trapped there. Being a kid sucked. I HATED being under someone elses rule. This life is for me to do as I wish, when I wish at all times. Keep yourself debt free so you can tell a job to fuck off at ALL times. Every job I get I let them know within 3 months.... "I have no bills, so if you piss me off, I'm out the door instantly" lol.
Brilliant music isn't always perfectly polished. DRI is criminally underrated for their contribution to Hardcore Thrash. They were Much too Real for MTV and our Corporate Radio. Really glad to see a Thriving and International Tube Community Thrashing Hard Today Too This.
1988-1989, high scholl, listening "4 of a Kind" & "Trash Zone" zillions of times, played loud... became fan!, then the others EP´s & LP´s... and then a live show (kinda fest) in the mexican Caribbean 2006-2007?... it was crazy, every rocker, metalhead, punk, ska in town was there waiting for DRI so good memorie, D.R.I. rules!!!
Seen them just before the pandemic and will again Nov 4th I beieve. First time was in the mid 80's. Around the 8th time now seeing them and it gets better everytime.
221k views as of 7/31/21 I remember listening to this song in highschool. I think that DRI had one of the most people t-shirts for a music group, up there with Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer and Wu Tang Clan.
Hey Spike and Co. , check out the new "R.atos de P.orão" album , it's called "Necropolitica" and its sounding amazing , a return to a more metallic sounding , with very creative riffs and songs , this album is born a classic .
This does go with my book An Eye In Shadows -- this is fucking great, public school hell personified and goes with my new story too I am writing. My friend Wolf played with you guys. The new story has has this attitude.
Originally came from a discontinued Peavey amp. I don't remember the model. But modeling amps that have the 80's British option comes close. Or just an old Marshall. Seymour Duncan invader pickups really gets you there as well. I have an inexpensive Vox Add to dictionary and Stagg guitar that comes with the invaders gets close.
I just set the treble, mid, and bass all the way up and keep the boost button on but for my peavy at my dads I do the same but there is are two buttons a thick sound or saturated sound I would go with the saturated sound and I play with an epiphone les Paul and set the switch to treble that’s the closest I’ve gotten without using pedals
Old school beautiful... i´m 54 and i am still an imbecile!!! I can´t help it... and it feels goooooooooood!!! They have to deal with it. I´m not responsible.
Dri has to be the best combination of punk and metal I've heard.
punk+metal=thrash

They are way better than ST in my opinion
I almost agree, DRI is a little bit better than ST
I bought this cassette when I was 12,.......I'm 32 now. Still makes me feel the same.
What an awesome band.
Same here

Now this dude is 45 👊🤜🤛
Now you're 46.

Same bro!! Am not quite 49... I'd have to ask my kid exactly, I can't remember right now, haha
54 and still jamming this.
Totally-49 and till listening
They played here (Glasgow) the other night and i missed it. Was gutted. I'm 50 and still love this stuff 🤘🤘🤘
43 next week I still skate and listen to DRI
I was a HUGE fan of D.R.I. in high school, back in the 80s!

D.R.I. for life!
2020, 147.170 views, i was doing my job haha kisses
People don’t got an open taste
Nah, there was someone that uploaded it before Spike. That video has like 2 million views right now.
it’s so funny how you think that the overwhelming majority of people around you have even heard of D.R.I.
👍👍

I had a Peavy "Hot Foot" distortion pedal back in '88 - this is the exact tone you'd get. Dead in a Ditch / Suit and Tie Guy sounded like the album.
I always blasted this song on my way to school, good memorys

DRI are Awesome. One of the best bands on the planet. Without a doubt.
D.R.I., damn, best live band ever, saw them on 4 of kind and Thrash Zone, what a great time..

This song was my anthem when I was a teenager
What kind of a man would I be, had I never listened to DRI? Who cares! They made my teenage years power fueled. Thank you guys!

never too late....

School is truly brutal for some kids. And theres fuck all they can do about it
It was rough being a thrasher in high school I remember being late this song was playing on my iPod while so, seriously fitting
They should pay kids to go to school. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if there were incentive. 😁

Man I really wish the sound quality was better on these videos. Well, at least I have my CD's in the car. They still sound great!

Saw them live last year. They still kick ass and the mosh pit, although small, but still alive
This reminds me of getting out of school on a Friday night and preparing myself for the nights gig good old times

Oh, forgot to mention I also run it with MXR Full bore metal without the mid scoop activated.
i hear that a lot. i can tell you it has nothing to do with anything peavey.
@@evanricheson1630 i do the same with some amps. heres a tip. pull back the mids until the treble start to get dull.

Have you ever wondered what are those things that appear on Spike's hat and on the guitar's headstock?
lol they are plastic birds that were in a display case at the school.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de verlos y escucharlos en El Salvador......ya tuvimos a los padres del trash callejero.....
Wow so many memory's hereing this song

Come back to Fresno!!
When you guys coming back to Dallas?
How can I get this tone? Also, is that guitar a Stratocaster fat?
SabotageGhost
sorry it’s mine, and not for sale :)
You shouldn’t copy anyways. Invent your own tone. Be original.
The guitar is a Kramer Focus 3000.
Spike Cassidy Alright, thanks for the advice man :D
"hands in the pockets ?.,,.';';
Punk/thrash at its best!
This is Absolute fire what else could you ask for in a band they should of been able in the big for along side death
