- Took the wedding bike out for a test ride with the newly installed, Surly Corner bars. Got a got climb in to the trail and then ripped a quick lap down Jaberwalkie. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy this adventure.

Hey, Thom! Back with some more questions...When you switched out your bars did you find that you needed to swap out the stem as well? In other words, did you need to shorten or lengthen the stem once you had the corner bars on? Thanks.
Yes, I had to drop the stem to a 50mm. I'm actually thinking about going even smaller. At the moment I have my seat pushed all the way forward but I'm thinking a 40mm stem might work better for body position and comfort.
Fun setup. What did you add to the hoods for comfort, they seem a bit small out of the box. Thanks.

You can use road bar tape or cut down a set of mtn bike grips, I used Oury mtn bike grips & they’re awesome!

Hello - I commented on your other video about bar length. Thanks for your response! However, in this video I noticed something - have you modified the "hoods" by adding a longer grip?
Yes, I cut down a pair of PNW lock on grips and but tape over them for a better hand position.
@@trailshredz6631 That's clever. Did you cut the grip down to size and put a bar end plug on the cut-off part before taping?

@@trailshredz6631 Nah, man - I love it. Your hardtail is very similar to my XC bike, and I've been considering converting it into a gravel grinder. Seeing your videos has helped me with the build - plus, it's fun to watch you rip on this thing!
