Beautiful hiking! It's interesting they blue blaze for water, but it's not always a steady source, esp I would guess in the hot summer months. It sure would be cool to have a hostel there along the trail, you'd get a lot of business and happy hikers stopping for refreshment. It was great to see how the forest was near the beginning, then you hiked into the Pines, I see why they call it Pine Grove!! Amazing clear blue skies! Have a great day IceBear, and happy trails!! - Jen
Keep the hostel idea at the back of your mind. Housing and land prices will probably tumble soon. If you have the money and can wait several years, there will be bargains on land. I saw this in the late 1980s. We are seeing the markets in some areas fall. As unemployment rises there will be foreclosures and more banks will fail. Then the stock market will tumble causing more banks to fail. It will be a vicious cycle for several years. Land prices from 1987 to 1991 dropped by almost 50% in my area. Seven local banks failed. It was tough for everybody. Nice video. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
I believe it! I bet that's how my dad got his rental properties for so cheap, too. And Kevin (Atypical Hiker) has already seen several banks close, which caused monetary issues for his mom when it happened. It makes sense.
@@IceBearHalfwayPoint I never went for rental properties. There are too many laws that protect the deadbeat renters. Several friends ended up losing a lot of money on their rentals because of deadbeats and the laws. Good Luck, Rick
Let me tell you, that gritter at the beginning got my attention qiick! 😂 Disappointing blue blaze are a let down. I have always said owning a hostel would be exciting & interesting. ❤ Not to mention, so meaningful!
Trail looks beautiful! I thinknI did that section in winter, so iy is neat to see it at this time of year. You should absolutely open a hostel if you get the chance to! Not sure if you wound up meeting Nernadette (Yardsale) at the hike for mental health tent at Trail Days, but she runs The Lookout Hostel in New Tripoli. She'd be a great resource!
There were so many people to meet that I couldn't tell you their names unless we spent more than ten minutes together. It was just so many people. Someone said 25,000 to 27,000 showed up, which blew my mind!
I would love to thru hike the AT! Right now I can only afford to section hike it. I live very close to here. That blue blaze water made no sense to me! 😄 Thanks, Halabuji! 😃💚👊
I heard Rickett Glenn is great place to hike lots of waterfalls 😊… maybe we can all plan to hike there
It's on my To Hike List, so that is a wonderful idea! 😃💚👊

It sure does! 😁💚👊
One of those cabins would be awesome! Whenever I break free from here, I hope to move close to a trail and maybe run a hostel and/or shuttle.
That would be awesome! 😃💚👊
😂 "ahh that feels good" "I don't recommend that" ...I do the same thing, well at least on hot days!
Keep racking up those miles, my friend!
