This preview just reminded me, that I wanna buy the game to support them - I seldom was as immersed as with the first STALKER game. Also really nice: there is a lot of different editions of the game on PC/XBOX and 20 bucks more expensive one, that has some cool stuff like a zone map, faction patches and other stuff - kind of reminiscent of the PC boxes of the olden days! Very hyped about the game!
I highly recommend people read Roadside Picnic before playing this game. It's a very short book and many of the things Huber was mentioning that he was unsure of is actually stuff from the book. Many other games(and media) also references Roadside Picnic too. Also another thing to note if you haven't played the other Stalker games. Don't go in expecting your typical FPS experience. It plays a lot different from other FPS's. Resource management is important and the world is unforgiving.
I came across the first game in this series by chance when browsing Steam in 2007/2008, and it has had a special place in my heart ever since. I never dared to hope we would finally see the day this sequel released after the original version was cancelled, but it seems that we are finally here. I felt that the original was ahead of its time and more ambitious than it could fully achieve, but now I feel that the time is right for this series to be fully appreciated and realized. It is good to hear that someone who is new to this series finds something compelling in it.

4:30 that's called a bloodsucker. They're pretty nasty. Shotguns work pretty well with them. I absolutely hated them and the controllers and burers in the trilogy.
It ain't just bombs dropping, some devs went on to fight and actually died on the frontlines. It's crazy what they've been through. Meanwhile you ask western devs to make their games run at at least a 30 FPS without DLSS and they tell you "making games is hard ..."
been awaiting this game for a while and just recently got into Shadow of Chornobyl and I'm loving it. I've felt this generation of games has been mediocre and I'm hoping for a great time with this one.
One of the most anticipated games I've had in a long, long time. I just pray to my soul that they don't ruin this because of consoles. Modding is a core part of STALKER, and the mods better be possible here. I'm really, REALLY concerned there's little to no talk of density of the open world, even though they say it's the biggest one to date they've made. That's great, but if running from point a to b sees like 2 mutants and nothing else then...who cares? I just feel like because it's coming to Xfail Series S(!!!), we're going to see a stunted game vs if it was on next gen and PC only.
The trilogy was fun but a little weak in the execution. For me, the Anomaly mod was a rare case of a mod far surpassing the official experience. Going open world is going to be huge in terms of making me enjoy the vanilla game but I wouldn't be surprised if some of those shortcomings still exist. But that just means the mods will be insanely good.
STALKER trilogy is still the most immersive shooter game ever made and frankly I doubt even the sequel will surpass it (lot will depend on how its ambient soundtrack, weather and enemy AI is handled). I have the sequel on preorder in CE version and can't wait though. Returning to the zone after over a decade should be quite special.
So cool. Too bad I only have PS5 😭 That documentary was great too. So many similar stories I know from friends who were faced with, and still face, the same personal and professional challenges because of russia.

Before all the delays the game was supposed to come out on PS4, I bought a PS4 Pro just for RDR2 and this at the time lol. Now that I got a new PC I'll be playing it on that.

This footage is the exact same as the gamespot footage. Wish journalists would say that the company is giving you footage to show and not letting you record your own gameplay. That seems very telling about their confidence in the game.

For instance Riot with Project L (now 2xko) has had multiple events at massive venues like Evo where people are allowed to stream and record the game even though thousands of people were wanting to try it out. Also these journalists had 3 whole hours on the game (parris, gamespot, and games radar all said as much and also all posted the same footage), it clearly was an invite event for journalists, not an open event for the public.

I love finding 50 garbage items that had a purpose in original CoP misery but they never removed them, leading to a bunch of useless junk in the loot pool that feels worse than not finding anything at all. What do you expect they are over 15 years old and lean more towards the RPG side of things. This game will feel like a modern shooter.
