What a load of cobblers in a storm you can get cross seas against the wind driven seas, changing angles, whatin a storm? Slowing down won't have any effect as if large enough the wave slope will cause the vessel to surf. You should have taken action before the storm hits to either avoid the worst conditions or if possible the make heading into the storm and just dodge.

Captain: Helmsman, adjust the encounterwave period, so that is does not coincide with one half of the natural rolling period of the ship!
Helmans: Aye Sir (prcoeeds to adjust the encounterwave period)

To stop the parametric rolling, you could also increase GM thus speeding up the roll period. So that the right way of thinking about it?
