Unfortunately, it's a pattern that's worked for most of his life. Just look how many times he's gotten away with only paying contractors pennies on the dollar for contracted work because he delayed their civil cases, trying to get the money he owed them, long enough that they couldn't afford to pay their lawyers anymore and had to settle.

Remember the general term 'innocent until proven guilty,' so the defendant gets a lot of leeway. Cumbersome through it may be, it helps make the end result stand firm.

Well, since Jack Smith is mentioned, it's one of two-- either the DC case with Judge Tanya Chutkin or the Maralargo documents case in Florida with Judge Eileen Cannon. I suspect the former. That one had a March start date, although it is currently "stayed", and at best may kick off in May. But that's still too early for Diaper Don.

They are not frivolous because some talking heads claim them to be. A motion is an argument why you think something should or shouldn't happen. If your argument has any basis at all in law it cannot be frivolous. If you read the motions they will have citations to law thus they have a basis in law and are not frivolous. They even tell you this in the video. The reason for your confusion on why this is allowed to happen is because you bought into the premise that they are frivolous motions.

The other side gets to submit a response to the motion and can argue why the law cited doesn't pertain. The judge then rules on the motion. Generally you get frivolous motions from defendants representing themselves because they do not know how to cite laws and what laws are applicable. Have you read trumps motions and can you make an argument as to why the laws he is citing for his argument don't apply? Have you seen the response to the motion and is the argument in the response that this is frivolous? Have you seen the judges ruling on the motions? Perhaps you only think they have no merit because you want them to have no merit.
If smith continues to send the trump team discovery materials, it means they cannot delay by asking for discovery materials. That’s the only reason they are pissed.

I keep asking the same question for months. Why is trump allowed to file constant frivolous delaying motions? You need to have evidence before a motion is even read in court. Why is the system allowing the nonsense?
They are not frivolous because some talking heads claim them to be. A motion is an argument why you think something should or shouldn't happen. If your argument has any basis at all in law it cannot be frivolous. If you read the motions they will have citations to law thus they have a basis in law and are not frivolous. They even tell you this in the video.
The reason for your confusion on why this is allowed to happen is because you bought into the premise that they are frivolous motions.

I thought that if a person made a motion and could cite the law in it and make an argument about how that pertains to their case that they had a right to do that. So long as the legal professional bodies do nothing to seriously sanction these people, then the whole American legal community is held up to ridicule in the eyes of the rest of the world.

I don't care what the rest of the world thinks. He as anyone else in his situation has a right to present motions. If other countries are ridiculing the US because the 'professional bodies' are not actively stopping him then that is because they do it wrong, not the US.
To be fair, the US system is not well regarded anyway - having someone in charge of a trial affiliated to the party of the defendant, or affiliated to the rival party is an obvious conflict of interest that you just don't seem to get elsewhere. There is a balancing act here between enabling the defendant to get a fair defence, and with the somewhat obvious contempt of court going on, but there are many more egregious failures in the system around it

@mitchhills4747 trump is making an argument in a motion in which he cites the law and argues how that pertains to his case. That motion goes to the court and to the opposing side. The other side gets to submit a response to the motion and can argue why the law cited doesn't pertain. The judge then rules on the motion. Generally you get frivolous motions from defendants representing themselves because they do not know how to cite laws and what laws are applicable.
Have you read trumps motions and can you make an argument as to why the laws he is citing for his argument don't apply? Have you seen the response to the motion and is the argument in the response that this is frivolous? Have you seen the judges ruling on the motions?
Perhaps you only think they have no merit because you want them to have no merit.
