    The adjustability of this gun and others like it is not for fiddlers , it is for every day shooters who can't afford to go to the factory and have their new gun set up , the result is the same , it ends up with a personalised fit , the difference is, if you ever want to sell this type of gun the new owner will have no real problem getting it to fit , unlike the custom fitted gun which will most likely need going back to the factory , and , as a result is hard to sell

    Lloyd ... from an old DT-11 shooter ... you might make it more complicated than needed. It is easier to take the trigger out when the gun is disassembled. When taking the group out make sure to move the top lever so it locks in the open position because that holds the trigger group locking fork inside the action in the back position and lets you take out the group out just like you showed AND insert it as easily. If you let the top lever move back to the center, teh locking fork inside moves forward and you have to repeat the process to move it backwards to insert the group. If the lever remains locked to the right you can drop the group back in without any issues or resistance, then just push the top lever release pin on top of the action while you hold the opening lever and guide it back. Voila. It will easily lock the trigger group back in on every try!

      Spot on. This is the way I do it. Also same with the barrels on just open the gun. Easy enough.

    I have one and really like the adjustable comb. I took it out of the box, put two shots on the pattern board and have not touched it since.😊

    I recently tried a Dt11 and to be honest it was not obvious to me that the Dt11 had less felt recoil than say a blaser f3 etc. I was close to buying a new K80, but lets just say the sole importer/dealer was his own worst enemy. So now questioning should i blow so much money on a gun. Therefore im going to look at 2nd hand 694le next week and leave the premium gun for a few years.

    Hi Lloyd, great review as always, I shoot a DT11 Black- is the pistol grip on the ACS a tighter radius?, I don’t have large hands and could do with a tighter grip, Also just to mention that it’s much easier to remove and replace the trigger unit with the gun broken down- I do it regularly and found this out the hard way, love the channel, great reviews.

      Ref the ACS, not that I've noticed no.

    Lloyd,
    Do you think that the ACS would be good for someone who does roughly 80% international trap and 20% sport and skeet? Or would it be better to buy a dedicated DT11 trap and a separate DT11 or 694 ACS or Sporting for the other two disciplines?

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  Рік тому +1

      I think it would be ideal for that exact use case.

    Risk of barrels dropping can be avoided when removing the trigger group by taking them off pal and just working with the stock and action. The DT11 is trickier than Perazzi, I found it would only go back in at a certain angle and also wouldn't seem to go back in with the triggers released. Prefer the Perazzi's removable trigger..

    Hi Lloyd, love the channel mate! I just wondering if you had your choice between the DT11 ACS and the Blaser F3 Supersport, which would you choose and why?

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  3 роки тому

      I used to own an f3 supersport, lovely gun with great ergo. The two are very similar to be honest with the biggest differences being styling / finish, and ergonomics. Obvs the lockwork and action design are completely different but you won't notice that's when shooting. The best advice is to try both and go for the one that you feel fits your hands better. The Beretta is a chonkier gun than the F3.

      @@lloydyp Thanks for the reply Lloyd. I'm looking at trading my DT10 on one of the two, I've had a shot out of a couple of DT11's but no one in my area sells or has a Blaser, they're not real common in Australia, or at least not in my neck of the woods.

      Answered your own question. Why buy a gun that isn’t supported in your region? Stick with the one that every gunsmith can get parts for and knows how to fix.
      It’s the same reason people go for Toyota even if they aren’t the best value for money

    Great review Lloyd. On these high rib versions do you feel you have good sight picture on crossing birds? It seams you have the adj stock set higher to compensate.

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  6 років тому +1

      Thanks, I never really notice the rib as I look at the bird, it's really just a different head position during the shot. I shoot low gun as you can see depending on the presentation so I always get a good view of the bird as it appears.

  • @tobiastorsi

    Probably a difficult or stupid Question: Would you rather get a Beretta 690 with a nice custom fitted Stock or go straight to Perazzi or Krieghoff and, because spending that much money on Wood and Woodwork on a "cheap" gun. Or is the 690 or something similar that good, thats it is worth to put a custom stock on it and save the rest of the money (Difference is probably 6k€)?

    • @lloydyp

    I have always shot flat rib guns with a significant drop. I'm questioning how this higher rib changes or not the sight picture and if it affords more drop at comb and heel?

    • @lloydyp
      @lloydyp  6 років тому +2

      Sight picture is the same but without the barrels as they are below your eyeline. Head position is more upright, with the higher comb bringing the head up into line with the rib. The drop at heel is the big difference.

    well let's see..
    annoyingly easy to shoot 47 out of 50 first time out
    adjustable to each shooters exact point of impact.
    shoot it all day with no recoil felt
    sounds pretty dam good to me.
