Death 1: She walked too far in the desert and dropped dead of dehydration.
Whirlwind: That freshh water is meant for Farwalker, and if Valanice drinks it, the game becomes unwinnable. So they send a sandstorm to pick her bones clean as punishment. Beats spending hours figuring out where you went wrong, Valanice even mentions EXACTLY where you made a fatal error, which is nice!
Bullshit, you can make countless pots of fresh water.

20 seconds in and I'm already laughing. I love how hard she hit the damn sand when she died from dehydration.

I know a lot of people think that Ooga Booga land was the most scary part of this game but dang I was always more afraid of the desert. I always felt so alone in the desert. I always wanted to try drinking fresh water in the desert to see how far I could I travel. Today was the first day I saw the 1:00 death and WOW! 16 years later this game still scares the pants off me.
That's probably the scariest death from the game and this is the first time I've seen it.
KQ VII is the reason why I ever got involved in this fantastic game saga!

The ogres laugh and animation after dropping in the Lava haunts me to this date. But after watch this video Im finally cured. Funny to thing that scared the shit out me a nearly 2 decades ago.

LOL... I guess when I first played this game, I died all of these death... or nearly all of them... great stuff!
Correct. Drinking the fresh water in the desert extends the time limit from about two minutes to around five or six. But the game hints this isn't productive by sending the sandstorm. The extended limit is also why most people haven't seen it.
Yeah, I'm looking at the old playthrough and it could definitely use an upgrade. But it's harder to make the HD vids mainly because of the different music. So that project will be much more involved than the first one.
I am willing to do it, as it has been on my to-do list for over a year. It's just that there have been other projects that have been keeping my attention.
But I promise I will get to it soon!

The death I’ve yet not trigger in my game.
Drink the fresh water, then wait out in the desert away from all the landmarks. As I recall, it does take a really long time to hit.

It took me a bit but after drinking I headed back saw far walker and then the tornado came!

I just found out you can trade away the corn kernel to the mouse to get the bead. Does that make the game unwinnable?
The game has no unwinnable states. Even Sierra figured out those were bad by then.
If you trade away the corn kernel, then a second one will appear in the basket. But you don't even need it. If you head south from the opening scene to the skeleton and pick up the horn yourself, you can bypass the fresh water puzzle entirely.

Was there not one for that spirit that's walking through the dessert? When you go to talk to him the first time, he says that he's going mad. And when you talk to him again before giving him fresh water to drink, he yells at you. I would've thought passing him some salt water would've made him violent or something.
If you played this game as a kid, you may misremember it that way because his reaction to the salt water could've definitely freaked some kids out.
But he doesn't actually kill you. I put his reaction in my walkthrough series, both the initial attempt and the secondary one that repeats.
@@shadyparadox Mmk. And my comment wasn't meant to imply that he did kill you. It was an actual question because I always gave him fresh water. Now that I know that you did it in a playthrough, I'm gonna go look for it to see the reaction.
