One of the beauties about the whole U-tube phenomenon is that I get a chance at my elderly status to enjoy places and see stuff that I would never expect to get to unless I was full time traveling. So I thank you for sharing your journey and the destinations that you have been to, the fantastic footage captured and the engaging personalities that you both are who present your adventures with such enthusiasm and adventure. Fantastic stuff as always and keep up the great job in entertaining and informing your audience. You are such a lovely couple..

Of course - you know that Iceland is the only place in the North Atlantic Ocean where two continental plates collide and rise above sea level! That is why the water is hot and volcanoes erupt from time to time. Congrats in actually getting there. You guys ROCK!

I could not agree with you more when you said no lens that you tried truly captured what you were experiencing. My wife and I were fortunate enough to be at the volcano you visited during its eruption. We invested nearly a full day sitting on the hillside watching it erupt. Iceland truly is a place that you never have enough time for, and it always leaves you wanting to come back for more. I'm glad that you all were able to experience as much as you did.

Kudos on acquiring proper footwear for your boulder hopping adventures - set me at ease to see that instead of those open flip-flops you two used to explore thorny Caribbean locales. Keep on trekking safely. Don't really rock hop without checking if the destination boulder is a tad slippery with moss or algae. BTW what Kiara is wearing is a "toque" in most of the northern latitudes. 😁 Nice blue and white toque though and it befits the lass.

Great videography - living vicariously as I doubt I'll make it there. Did you add any thermal insulation to your boat prior to this trip? Like to go there too but think I'd need to tear my boat apart to add it as mine has minimal amounts behind liners

    • @SailingMillennialFalcon

Nothing yet for thermal insulation but it's only 10-20c here so not too cold just yet... we're planning to do some 'weatherproofing' on the boat this winter. We're in a similar situation though, it's really hard in some areas (almost the whole of the saloon/galley area) to get behind the liners without tearing the boat apart. Haven't researched it enough yet.. maybe spray foam in the cavities we can't reach? IDK but it's on the to do list!

Just a little point about looking for the lava. The entire island of Iceland is made of lava, the island was formed of volcanos over many thausands of years dumping more and more lava until there was an island, then the volcanos kept dumping even more lava on top of the lava that was already there.
But thankfully you didn't have much of a problem finding the lava.
