- Olight was nice enough to send me to China for their 10th Anniversary celebration. I was there as a distributor, but took an extra day to make videos of their offices, testing facility, factory, and more.

One of the last gifts Marshall gave before he passed. What a wonderful video.
Philip Christian He passed? What happened??
@@NonnofYobiznes he died
@@NonnofYobiznes he dead
Hate hear that
What happened? That’s really horrible.
I think it's fantastic that they allowed you to visit and even more so film in the actual factory. I know plenty of companies that would and could never let that happen. Reaffirms my faith into Olight.
alittleolder [
because there was nothing special about the factory.. all old second hand western made machines too
It's call don't steal other idea
so much work goes into manufacturing a product. we should always be appreciative of this fact

Yeah. All the top quality lights take ages to make. And that is why they charge premium prices.
It makes me wonder how that differs from how those $9 "generic" (look alike) zooming-lights are made (obviously in a different factory somewhere else in China).
This is why Olight is top brand. Seeing how they operate just gives me more faith than I already had in their product.
It's amazing that Olight allows people to not only visit their factory but also take the videos. Kudos to Olight and Going Gear!
Thank you and Olight for the tour!
Going Gear and Olight are 2 great companies, happy to give either one my business.
Wonderdul video! I didn't expect this kind of scale for flashlight manufacturers. (I'm in automotive industry). Makes me appreciate the quality that Olight brings to us! Thanks!
Thank you very much!
I worked for a US manufacturer (admittedly back in the 1980s and 1990s) and the working conditions at Olight look comfy and space-age compared to what our workers had to deal with.
Jafafa Hots That's really sad... for us. I'm glad the Olight factory isn't just a giant sweatshop. Makes me want to support them even more.
Ya, aside from the AC thing it looked like a pretty nice place.
The 80s in the US were much different than today. Since then we have imposed enough regulations to double or even triple the cost of manufacturing which is why there isn't any here any more. But, at least the few remaining factory workers are comfortable and safe with pensions and healthcare. China is slowly transforming and costs will soon be going up there as well. This factory is only 10 years old so it was built under newer regulations. However, I was surprised to see how hot it was with no AC. That would never fly in the US.
Chinese factories were not this nice in the 80s lmao
@@suburbanhobbyist2752 Not to mention the fact in the US you have to hire and promote dead weight with Affirmative Action.
Big thanks to olight for this video... big fan have a bunch of lights.. And wow it's nice to see all the many factors that go into making a light.. Keep up the good work olight..
Olight is honestly the Apple of flashlights and I don't mind, went for the M2R Warrior instead of Pro based on the proprietary batteries and I couldn't be happier for a weapon light. They don't necessary run at the front of the pack for innovation however they make a quality product, build quality is top tier, feels great in the hand, reliable and not as important but extremely aesthetically pleasing to me. I'd only buy one on a sale though, they have them so often that there's no reason not to wait for one IMO, one of the best values I can think of on sale. This video is fantastically done, I love seeing into factories of products I enjoy especially when so many people are employed to produce products by hand.
So I have an H1 Nova sitting next to me on the magnetic base of a LED desk lamp... and to think it went through ALL THAT before it got to me! Now I know how that tiny blue ring got pressed into the power switch! Amazing!!!
That was awesome! The owner was wise to allow you to do the tour as it is great advertising. Impressive company with innovative ideas.
+1 Great video!
Just wondering but did you catch todays sale?
Just bought my third Olight. Thank you for all you did and for being such an outstanding man. RIP Marshall
I've recently bought the seeker 2 and the S1r baton 2 and I can see why Olight are the best for torches and flashlights. Olight are pure quality and I must say S1r baton 2 is Simply a classic! You can tell the work that goes into these flashlights and they feel brilliant in the hand. I bought the seeker 2 because I wanted a flashlight that was incredibly bright and that was small. I hope the S1r baton 2 becomes the Classic that it deserves because I totally love this tiny flashlight! Olight is not only the best they are world leaders in flashlights and torches company in the world!
Bought my first of many Olight’s from Going Gear because of Marshall’s recommendations. I still use their site whenever I need a new piece. It’s a great, well stocked store. Thanks man, rest easy brother.
RIP Marshal. So sad you are gone.
mixflip what was the cause of death? He was so young.
I've got an idea for a product, a flashlight, where do I start?
Thank you olight, facinating, super clean environment, helps appreciate the construction of our lights.
Seeing that Olight is the Apple of the flashlight world, I knew this Factory and tour would be a huge operation!!
what shocked the heck out of me was how much humans actually have to do to assemble and finish, put together all the products qc everything... I knew they would be tons and tons of CNC machines but there are so many little processes put together to make one light...
I'm so glad to have tested most of their 2015-2017 products, they're trully good products and it's reassuring to see those good working conditions at Olight factory. Thanks to Going Gear and Olight for this video !
Hy Marshall
thanks for the your very good Olight Flashlight Factory Tour Videos.
Very interesting to see the production.
Everything made in China But I must say I’m very impressed by that factory
Olight makes some seriously tough durable flashlights! Never had a problem with the ones I own. Well worth the money! RIP Marshal, I'll miss your videos.
Awesome to see! I would LOVE to visit, OLIGHTs are fantastic lights!
Thanks again for the all the vids Marshall!
R. I.P.
And Olight equipment is the cream of the crop.
I am flat out impressed with the durability of the lights.
And the batteries are superior quality.
I recommend Olight to anyone looking for quality and reliability. WOW
That laser engraving was incredibly cool! RIP Marshall, you are missed.
Wow he passed away? Do you know what happened? That's sad he seemed like a great guy to!
Very impressive factory and manufacturing process. Olight is my go to company for flashlights. Thanks for the video. Look forward to doing business with you soon.
Wow !!! I'm impressed with quality control of this company...I love my Olight S1R
Cool tour. Thanks Going Gear and thanks Olight!
Very interesting to see many of the units i own being made, thank you for this video, great work.
Super cool. Thanks for bringing this to all of us!
I have the Olight PL-2 Valkyrie mounted on my G19 Gen4, which I used to have a Surefire X300U. Valkyrie is smaller, brighter, and much lighter than the X300U. Fired about 500 rounds without fail. Planning to buy 2 more for other pistols. Need to find a holster that can fit.
Wow, awesome. I'm even more impressed with my Olight's now. Excellent.
Very cool!.. Olight is my favorite brand and that was very informative
I miss him. A big Olight guy, did the best videos. Will not forget.
That was an awesome video Marshall. I really enjoyed watching that. Thank you and Olight!
R.i.p. Marshall. I’m drooling here. I was an olight fanboy before but now I’m just all in!
Just bought a H1R, so cool to see where it came from, and the little infant H1Rs waiting to be machined. :)
so here was produce the S15 Baton who stoped to work after 1 month of light usage. and the recharge system of my Seeker 2 Pro who work only when it wants.
This tour just sold Olight to me as a brand and company. I'm picking up my first one next week :)
Sweet tour! Thanks
Crazy how far they’ve come.
Just watched the new tour video by Olight USA in china
Rip to creator
Good video, kinda reminded me of field trips I took in elementary school
Awesome stuff man! Thanks for showing us all of this!
Was not expecting anything this nice. Was thinking more dirt floor type.
I will be buying Olight from now on, thankyou!
Real authentic Chinese sweatshop. Nice.
My very favorite flashlight reviewer, 😔 R.I.P. Marshall
Makes me appreciate Olight and my M2T. Sadly he will not be able to see the future for Olight but I sure hope he is in flashlight heaven, drinking Martini’s with cool people.
I think that this product is better than surefire lights in my opinion . I'm not try to judge but for half the price how can you go wrong ? And the quality is top shelve. It's time for me to buy another light ...
I have never owned a Surefire light but for the prices that Olights are, why would I? I'm not throwing my lights from 10 story buildings or running over them with semi trucks. :) I just need a good light that doesn't let me know and so far, all of my Olights do just that.
Surefire is like TOO MANY American companies that take advantage of people's patriotism and reward them with high prices and substandard goods, while others can offer more for less. I bought an expensive rechargeable 9AN Commander years ago. Did they ever improve and update from their archaic and proprietary NI-CAD batteries that couldn't hold a charge long? Did they ever improve and offer better efficient and brighter bulbs for that model? Nope.
They just wanted you to buy their under performing batteries and bulbs - while the flashlight industry would soon see the rise of unexpectedly great products from China. Since that time, the Commander is an expensive paperweight, while being my first and LAST Surefire. They're still up to their games with consumers:

Premium price DEMANDS premium performance and customer service!
American/European car manufacturers did the same nonsense to many American drivers - which is why so many drive Asian imports. They wanted patriotism and patronage while shafting people in the ass?! This is the same mentality that have created MANY owners of Glock pistols over American brands.
TheScotchaholic well said. I love my Olight m2t
Olight any day of the week over that other outfit!
Excellent video. Thanks so much.
I'm shocked that one of the first steps is to "slug" up the bars into short pieces. I would have thought a bar cutter turning the whole rod cutting with multiple blades would have roughed in the shape first. Awesome tour!
Proud owner of a marauder olight since 3 days perfect i like it 💪🇩🇪
It's a great light! I hope you got it from us : )
Just ordered 2 lights from y’all! Can’t wait for them to come in!
Thanks for these video on how Olight makes lights.
Awesome tour. I love Olight.
Love you Marshall your the best ! God Bless you and your family
Wow appreciate the tour
That's incredible. Thank you for the video. I have a question: How do they keep finger print off the light, I never noticed any fingerprint, and yet I didn't see them wear gloves. I'm just curious, do they clean them? This is an amazing process, thank you for sharing this! Makes me want to buy another olight :)
Excellent products. I 💙 Olight!
Also, thank you all people that work at Olight. Hope that the assembly/inspection teams are rewarded for their work; they are so important as they stand for, and maintain, the vision and reputation of the company, and the outstanding premium products they produce.
An Olight Baton 18650 may be in my near future. Awesome video. Should change alot of minds on olight.
Great video series, thank you!
Even the receptionist is fanning herself, guess it must've been pretty dang hot. Can't imagine how hot it would've been at the factory with all those machines running, look like olight is providing free sauna for all their valuable employees, lol. Jokes aside, pretty cool behind the scenes!
plenty of americans, in the south, working in warehouses and plant floors without AC. Sad, but its reality.
I've been working in outdoor manufacturing for 10 years in Florida. It's hot but not that bad.
China?! I just ordered a M1T Raider this morning. I wish I had seen this video first because I would have never ordered it knowing it was mad in China. I will continue buying quality flashlights that are American made.
John Bradford our iPhones 📱 are made in China.
More important than the way you dress is you know all the stuff and components about what you are there to film video about!
Love the GOOFS at the end bro..nice video. .😆😆😆😆
That was really interesting. I had no idea. Nice.
Outstanding video, great insight into an amazing brand. Thanks for creating this video. Will look into buying an olight now.
Very cool video, Marshall!
Thanks for sharing!
Very cool and well done. I own 5 different Olights.
Awesome I have been wanting for this one.
How do you not have more subscribers?! Phenomenal videos!
PRODUCTS ARE JUNKKK MADE
That was awesome!!!
Oiling the threads at 12:55 is impressive
God Bless you Marshall R.I.P.
Best lights, Olight is THE best, just bring more Neutral White LED ^^.
Made In China..
Damn, that makes $200 for a flashlight seem like a good deal... all the CNC’s, QC, off site anodizing, hand assembly, and packaging.... not to mention all the design and testing that goes on before all that even happens. Thanks Marshall, RIP.
Hi Marshall,
Will you be going a video on the Nitecore TM38? It is probably the third longest throwing light in existence now.
Cool video, thanks for sharing.
Wow this is very impressive !
I really like Olight. I just got the Baron 3 Premium. The tint is 6500k. It would be awesome if Olight would utilize CRI (5000k) LED’ options on all their models. 5000k looks way better than 6500k. 6500k led’s looks like lights I used to use 10 years ago.
3:44 LOL!!! I guess safety glasses are optional when working metal. No OSHA there, I guess!
Are you and I the only ones to notice the lack of safety equipment for the workers? It's either optional or not even supplied. But that's the first thing I noticed when he was showing the CNC machines in the beginning. No one was wearing gloves or safety glasses around machines that create metal shards while being sprayed with lubricant. And then they opened the doors and blew off the parts and machine with compressed air! Well at least the guy doing the laser etching was wearing safety glasses and a 10 cent filter mask! I'm sorry, but that's terrible! I hope the workers get a decent wage for their quality work.
That was the first thing I noticed.
@@craigs7181 They probably don't. It's why so much is produced there.
sweat shop in china.... meanwhile democrats want America to lose more money than we have over 'global warming'
You fucking safety nazis really like to plague every video you can with your non sense. How about this mind your own and let grown ass people make their own decision stop acting like mothers for Christ sakes.... sad you fanatics are as bad as liberals
Holy smokes! That is A LOT of work to punch out just one flashlight.
Absolutely!! It really "irks me" when people buy the generic garbage lights, and then get all out of joint when the stupid thing breaks after one month's use!
Hi Ryan..
The other thing I can't believe is that the guy putting in the retaining ring in the tail cap was using needle nose pliers. I always imagined they had a special tool for that. Like tube with 2 prongs on the end that spun electrically....
They do have a special tool. Needle nose pliers. You get your material before you do any 'rough cuts'. Have you even been around fabrication at all!? You seem like one of those guys that just has to comment to seem relevant
Olight is the real deal.
great video! plans on other factories in the future?
Started out a stream light guy then went to Nightcore then thrunight finally settling on olight for the win
the must sale many lights with so much personal.. but i like it!
RIP Marshall 😢 I miss you
Marshal that guy had those h1r lights stacked neatly and you just picked one up and flung it back down out of place wtf?
Brilliant, that laser etching was so fast!
When is olight bringing manufacturing to the USA?
great video! did you get any free samples marshall???
Very cool video. Olight do make really good lights. Lots of different machining for a 50-80 dollar flash light. That's the good and the bad about China imports.
Nekem az Olight HS2 fejlámpám két év után magától tönkre ment.
Vigyáztam rá, soha nem ejtettem le, nem kapott vizet stb, még is tönkre ment.
Great video Marshall!!
Great video man!
Very good will done 👍👍👍
I am impress !
