So is there no way to stack brush sets the same way you can stack artwork? Really frustrating flaw in the app if so- I would rather organize by putting certain brushes under groups but I don't think I can.
Thanks for the tips. I had already put them in categories but your advice to back up and delete sets you never use is a great idea. I can also move the one brush I use out of a set to favorites and delete the rest. I'm always hopeful that Procreate will take the suggestions several have made to make collapsable folders for brushes. It will make it so much more useful!
I am totally agree, many brushes and difficult to find what you have. I disagree to have the default brushes on the top. With adding a new brush set you have always to drag this new brush set below the default sets. I found my solution: After a while I backup my iPad and upload all brushes to my iMac. Sorry, PC user I have no idea how you can have access od your brush archive. Ok, all brushes are on my iMac as a backup. I copy this folder to my iCoud to have all brushes available when I work on projects and access to wifi. BUT on my mac I found a program which shows a thumbnail how all my brushes are look like. How need is that!!!!! Here it is Prospect. It is a beta version which saves my life ❤️. Something similar for PC? Please note the thumbnails are only available to see on my mac, but it is an awesome start. PS: I supported the creator with an amount…
That's really great feedback to put the custom brushes at the top above the default Procreate brushes. It makes perfect sense if you're using custom sets more than any of the default ones. Being able to see Procreate thumbnails on the computer is such a big help! Thanks for that tip! There's another app created by an artist called 'Jarom' that does this for Mac. You can see that one here - folio.procreate.art/discussions/10/28/23216
Thanks for this! I'm happy to learn about backing up my brush sets. Categories is a great idea! In your sets of brushes I saw some listed as TH WC ... Are they your brushes or a set I can download? Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
So glad you like it Carroll! I think the brushes you're meaning are a Watercolor set from Nathan Brown. You can find them here - www.designcuts.com/product/master-watercolor-brushes-ultimate-edition/?ref=nicolemauloni
Wonderful tutorial! Thank you. Question : Can you create a category and put categories in it? For example could you create a category to put your favorites, sketching brushes and Painting brushes in?
Hi John, thanks for watching! Unfortunately there isn't a way to create sub categories in the brush sets at this time. Fingers crossed it's added to a later release in the future though as it would be a really useful addition!
XD I need to weed out my brushes! (Especially watercolor ones) since I keep getting watercolor brushes and too many have some I like but then basics that feel way too many alike.
@@iPadCalligraphy I have a lot of *real* brushes, too! The problem with digital brushes is they’re so much easier to acquire! I did start organizing, and I’m thinking I’ll archive some. It’s too bad there isn’t a way to save an entire folder.
Not sure I understand the first part of your question about moving brushes permanently, can you give an example? For part 2 - no the original version will not be deleted if you delete a duplicate
@@iPadCalligraphy Ok, I think my first question's answer is that the original procreate brushes cannot be moved, only deleted. A duplicate and imported brushes can be moved. The second question, I have not tried yet. I was asking about deleting an original procreate brush, would its duplicates also get deleted?

Collapsable folders would be so cool Susan. Fingers crossed they do something like that to help the situation
Thank you so much! You’re the first one who explains it so clearly and who is so organized!!! 🙂
You're so welcome Helene!
Omg I've spent a half hour or more searching for brushes during a project I wish it a had a search feature!
Brilliant! Love the tips on backing up brushes and sets.
Glad it's helpful! Thanks for watching
This is great! Thanks for the tips. I hate slogging through all the brushes. I will work on slimming down my sets.
Glad it helped! 😀

Very helpful! Thank you 😊
where do you get the icons? my keyboard doesn't have that option. would be nice to be able to change the icon. thank you for this great video though.
The icons are emojis. You should be able to access them from your keyboard - look for a little smiley face and it should change to the emoji icons
Thank you for your welcome, great advice. I’ll tidy up right now 💕
Thank for watching Anne! Glad you liked it 😊
Great tutorial, very helpful and easy explanation

@@iPadCalligraphy It really was.

So, when my keyboard opens there isn’t a key for the emojis. Is there something I’m missing? I would love to be able to set up my brushes this way.
There should be a key on the keyboard with a little smiley face. That will take you to your emojis
You can delete rhe import set if is empty. Once you upload a brush it will show up again at the bottom of the list.
Awesome tip! Thank you 😊
But how do I move brushes permanently and if I delete the original of a duplicate, will the duplicate also be removed?
