    Maam how is the rise in pressure of the lv simultaneous to the rise in pressure in the aorta, its only after a certain pressure is built up in the lv during isovolumetric contraction is it transmitted down the vessels during rapid ejection. Could you please elaborate on this perspective Maam?

      Forward flow is the flow from left ventricle to aorta during systole..that is the stroke volume of the LV that reaches the systemic circulation. This is in contrast to "backward flow" that happens during aortic regurgitation when the blood comes back from aorta to LV during diastole.
