    Nifty hack to reuse left over or surplus hand sanitizer.

    Covid was a helluva drug, especially in California. What an ingenious use of all the surplus sanitizer from few years ago, that would otherwise go in the bin. Great work!

    There is a clearance outlet called "Dirt Cheap" that had a whole pallet of hand sanitizer they had marked "free". I'm thinking they figured out it was expired, so they didn't want to sell it. Wish I had taken some.

    No clue why these items would have an expiration date other than some arbitrary government regulation. Great way to repurpose hand sanitizer!

    • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB 8 місяців тому +2

      The hand sanitizer expires because the alcohol tends to slowly permeate thru the plastic, gradually reducing the alcohol content. Once it drops too low, it loses efficacy.

      i believe you would want to find a way to arrive at the purest alcohol possible, to prevent fouling of your burners or engines

    Hey Vuaeco, now all you have to do. Is make an alcohol powered generator. To charge up the scooters! Watching this, I can't help but wonder. What PROOF alcohol that is? At the store, they sell alcohol in 90 proof. Some lesser proof. Would be like the octane in gasoline. You prob caused a current run on hand sanitizer, and salt. Haha LOL

    • @fun_ghoul
      @fun_ghoul 8 місяців тому

      Octane quantifies resistance to knocking, not the amount of energy contained. The sanitizer in the last video was 70%, but any ethanol can be distilled easily enough up to azeotropic (~97%).

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  8 місяців тому +1

      Maybe an alcohol powered generator towing behind my E-scooter charging it up while I'm riding it? LOL

    I don't think I'd use the soap at all. The "antibacterial" chemicals are usually nasty. As for washing your car, it might need more lubricity to prevent scratching. If I were trying to experiment cheaply, I'd squirt in some cheap hair conditioner (e.g. Mane n' Tail) and see how that went. This matters even more for those not regularly waxing their vehicles.

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  8 місяців тому +1

      Very low concentration of "antibacterial" chemicals. If it's safe on your skin, it shouldn't be that "nasty". But there are a thousand uses for soap so plenty of other choices.

    Ok, where to begin? Oh yes, if you are so hard-up for energy, chances are that you're not looking online (or posting, for that matter) to turn alcohol-based soap into a purified form of fuel... I appreciate the the video, but it doesn't seem feasible to try this.
