Drift velocity and mobility (Tamil Physics). Drift velocity is defined as the velocity with which free electrons get drifted towards the positive terminal, when an electric field is applied. µ=eτ/m is the mobility and is defined as the drift velocity acquired per unit electric field. The drift velocity of electrons is proportional to the electric field intensity.
