We have done Cockeye 3 times on the 4x4 coast to coast back around 2000 and it was pretty challenging then , looks like nothing has changed , good work boys

Good effort guys! It's 100% worth carrying a chainsaw when doing tracks that are tough or haven't been used for a while.
Funny you say that, Taylor got given a chainsaw for his birthday after this video !
Just done this track was very challenging needs some track maintenance done we cut around that part you built up with rocks just needs some more vehicles though
Hey brother, I’ve just moved home to Greymouth 2 months ago after 23 years away and have today gone for a look up the cockeye. I would like to retract any disparaging statements I’ve made! The creek has not just eaten away the road as I thought but totally changed course! You boys are legends and I have total respect for you now! Oh man! I’ve heard plenty of story’s about this track about how people have either spent hours fixing it or having to spend the night! It’s rather notorious for it I think 😂

Hard to believe we used to drive a 2wd courier flat deck through there, and a Honda 50 step through was my preferred vehicle when hunting red stags in there 😊
No way!? Definitely one of the more challenging tracks I've done recently but also one of the more enjoyable that's for sure!

That last ford you drove over was one of the best fords on the coast when timberlands owned it. A lot of s**t has gone downhill since the handover bro. The cockeye included.
Cool vid looks like you guys had a blast. Definitely some soft big ruts in there 10 years ago spent the night in there with two safari’s buried to there chassis, breaking PTO shear pins. Great wee track.

Ps, go to mitre 10, get a cheap as Poulan chainsaw, save yourself a LOT of time and hassle! 😁 This supervisory advice offered by 90s Coast 4wders are us 😁🤣
