Oh really? There were people camping right on the lakes edge when we were there but I was rather confused as to why there wasn’t more people there! I did notice the more inland you went away from the lakes edge the sandfly’s weren’t as bad! But nothing some replant and a concert pill can’t handle!

Fun fact, our sandflies are not actually sandflies. Can't remember what they are called, but only we miscall them that.
in 20 years here, I have never actually seem people camping at Timaru creek cause of the sandflies. one of the worst places around.

South Arm of Manapouri over Borland and Greys Hut on the bend of the Karamea Rv are hands down the worst sandfies I've seen!
