I love your fearlessness in trying things you haven't had a lot of experience in. When I started painting with watercolor I watched people who painted for years and I couldn't get the same experience that I had watching you this morning. If I tried just playing with the watercolors instead of trying to paint the next great masterpiece I would be happier with painting with watercolors. Thank you thank you!! I love your video's and it's always fun to watch you. I like your term "play with watercolors". Also, I'm still healing from my back surgery and trying to be fearless with my walking to heal as you are with your art!

Barb Templin I wish you complete recovery & pain-free physical therapy! I've been there 4 times (!) so I know it's no picnic. Do stay on top of your pain meds so you can stay ahead of the pain, sweetheart. My best wishes to you!

I love your videos. I also enjoy water coloring... I will try this technique. The effect is so beautiful! I've been coloring my stamps, but I like the look of this better. I like watering my gelatos. Just put it on my craft mat and use the water to paint with it.

I have been watching hundreds of vids and yours is the simplest and easiest to try. Giving the basics to understand how water and colours work. People should use this exercise to teach the mechanics of watercolour in schools. Thank you very much. I am grateful.

fyi, If you use blow dryer on the tape before you remove it to warm it- it should come off without tearing...I use blue tape and it does tear without warming it first. Nice and clean when its warmed first. You have inspired me to begin watercolor, thank you for all your fun videos!

Very pretty. Always looks easier than it is. I'm really not good at water colors but because of you I keep trying. I love your chatting... and singing... I do the same when I get excited. I've seen about every video you've ever made, but would love to see many more. You are my favorite because you don't sound so strict and half-dead as some of the other "teachers" on their videos. Thanks!

I took a beginners course 5 years ago and my paints have been sitting idle ever since. I stumbled across your video last night and decided today to give the circles a try. I remembered pretty much what you did, but I wasn't happy with the result so I rewatched the video. First mistake I made was to fill in the entire sheet and did not leave any white space besides the circles. And I also thought you used the same color around the whole circle. So, I did it again and I'm much happier with attempt #2. Thank you so much for getting me to dig these out. :) I would attach a photo, but I'm not seeing how to do that.

I have been in a rut with my life lately. And I’ve been interested in trying watercoloring. Your video was inspiring in more than one way. The fact that you didn’t care if the circles were perfect or if the colors bled together too much or not enough. Thank you so much for putting this out there. You have lifted my life up in many areas including art. Thank you!

I was so inspired by your video that I sat up most of the night painting variations - my favourite result was to draw the little circles at the end on the lines that were created loosely, so that it looked like beads strung on a wire, and then to paint the beads. I now have a whole set of greeting cards, thanks to you!

I used to spend a lot of time painting, sketching, just making art when I was younger and did Art at college, but due to medical problems and depression I have lost all of my confidence and my art and craft materials, including my many paints and brushes, have just been left unused; however watching your videos and listening to you narrate them is making me feel more positive about giving things another try, you're actually giving me some motivation to get out my watercolours again. It's nice to hear you say that you don't need expensive paints or the most sophisticated materials, other videos always seem to feature expensive brand materials which I always find disheartening. Thanks for ideas that actually seem achievable!

I started following you a few weeks ago I believe. I've had a lot going on and was very overwhelmed with much in my life. So I have not done anything artistically in years. I started getting some polymer clay and working on small Creations... because I love working with my hands. I also Started journaling again. But I have just ordered my very first watercolor palette for beginners & brushes. You have been my inspiration more than anyone else I've watched. After reading other comments, it clicked with me as others were saying you have a calming voice and just go with the flow. That's why I am so drawn to watching and listening to you because you're so kind and not trying to be perfect with your artwork. Thank you for having a big heart & getting me to want to learn to paint!!
Now I too can start creating beautiful watercolor paintings. I also have followed you on Instagram and Facebook. I look forward to starting adding artwork & color to my journals soon. Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for your videos. Sincerely, Melissa

You make lovely watercolours! I'm an artist and recently I found something that I really love. I get out my Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils and make a rainbow of colours in my sketchbook, and I love it!! I'm just doing it because I love it, not for any other reason. I feel like I'm playing like a child, and that's important, because my art making was getting to be a chore. It wasn't fun but now it is fun! I'm going to do it again today. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful piece of artwork! Take care dear!

In germany we have a saying that translates to "no master has ever fallen from the sky" (es ist noch kein meister vom himmel gefallen) same meaning basically, nobody is a master at anything right away
There is a trick for fixing brushes when the bristles have gotten out of shape, I can't remember who's channel I saw it on but it's a widely known trick actually, you can warm some water, put corn starch in (not sure of the measurements, I just eyeballed it) mix and add til you have a goopy mass and then put some on your bristles, shape them and let it dry, overnight if you can even, then with warm water carefully wash it out of the bristles again and the hairs will have their shape back.
    Don't throw your brushes away!
Also what I do, if i have a brush that isn't good and is misshapen, if it wasn't a brush I like to use anyway, I'll purposely deform it and use it as a stippling brush for cool patterns like foliage
I learned from my grandma don't throw anything away 😆 I'm oldschool german lady frugal

I have just bought water colours for the first time and I was scared of using them but this video has given me the courage to give it a try. I love your videos you are so talented

Wow, just found your video. I'm just starting watercolour. I sit there staring at the paper, too scared to start. I love you free expression and 'fun playing with paint' attitude. Also that you declare you are a beginner and that's okay. Inspirational. Thank you.

I subscribed because of this vid! I don't really draw and people expect me to know how because i do watercolor lettering. This video showed that drawing was not necessary! I love how it's so simple with just circles, but yet awesome with watercolor and imagination! 😊 Thank you for sharing! I'm trying this! ❤️

I love that you are left handed. I watch so many videos of right handed people and it is much harder to learn since i myself am left handed . Difficult to turn everything around!

Susan Kievman Yes!!! I got soo excited to see her left-handed. We don't see backwards, we see different.

I want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. You are quite entertaining. I have been painting professionally for 30 years with acrylics on canvas and am just learning how to use water colors. I have used Cotman, Windsor Newton Professional, Tombo water color brush pens, and Crayoa pans for kids. I love them all. I recently ordered a large set of ShinHan Professional water color tubes off Amazon and like them just fine. What I need is cheap water color paper with which to practice. I have been using a lot of Canson XL but it does not respond to wetting and forget lifting and scraping back.

The effect you are creating around the circles is called blooming where the paint spreads because of the water puddles and the overall painting is called negative painting because you arent painting within the circles but painting outside of them. Its very effective especially when painting flowers. It takes a steady heart to do. Lol. You are doing a great job of this! XTibbyX

I haven’t painted for years and not very good anyway, but I still enjoy doing it. I just bought some paints, brushes and paper and this video has helped me to just get on a paint. Thank you 🙏

I love the looseness of this. I have a hard time of letting go while I paint, so I love this idea. Thank you for sharing!

I’m trying so hard to watch this video but it’s rainy & gross where I am which makes me sleepy, then your voice is SO soothing that I’m fighting to keep my eyes open!! You should record yourself reading children’s stories & sell the audio to new parents bc I’d imagine your voice could lull any child to sleep ....& make you money on top of it!
