Good review. A pleasant cadence throughout intertwined with a welcome sparsity of harsh consonants. The spontaneous use of rhyming couplets was a bonus. Keep up the good work.
Hi Shane, thanks for this lovely and helpful video. You mentioned that the car is a hybrid which I believe is the MHEV rather than the plugin hybrid… can you please confirm how one can know if a C Class is an MHEV without relying on what the dealers tell you or list on the car details. My question is because i see a lot of AMG Line Premiums listed as MHEV but when I check HPI record, it just says Petrol. I wonder if dealers are being dishonest here. I’ll appreciate your response as I can’t find the right information about this online.
Hi Joan. There is no external way to know if a C-Class has the MHEV tech, and in truth, it's really just a better stop-start system so most people (HPI included) are likely to refer to it as simply a petrol engine. It's barely a hybrid at all. The C 200 sold from 2019 on had the MHEV tech as standard. I doubt dealers are being dishonest. And yes, we are talking about mild hybrid here, not plug-in hybrid. A mild hybrid can't be plugged in, but neither can it drive on electric power.
@@CompletecarIe Thanks Shane. The reason I've been a little interested in the MHEV versions of the C Class is because the tech generally allows things like Air con, and some other electrics to run on the MHEV which in turn saves on gas (so I hear). I guess your point about all 2019+ models of the C Class having MHEV as standard is enough to settle the matter for me. Thanks again
Got same c200 4matic. Drives very nice. Enough power. But bit of turbo lag. But you hardly notice if you aren't a racing driving. Lag is only when you push the full acceleration at a sudden. Otherwise it is perfect.
Hi Hassan. 'Mild hybrid' is usually used to describe a system where the electric part of the system doesn't have enough power to propel the car alone, but it allows engine-off coasting at times and more brake energy regeneration on slowing down. ^ Shane
I wouldn't say dated, it's not the nicest by any means but it still destroys BMWs and Audis at the same price. The interior being so classy is why I decided to buy one.
Hi, we are due a new car in December. I’ve been offered the new upcoming w206 model with he 1.5l petrol. I’m hoping it’ll be similar to this one in terms of the driving experience because from your review I now feel confident about that 1.5.
Just purchased a 2015(Sept reg):MERCEDES-BENZ C220 AMG ED PREMIUM + CDI A 2143CCHow do I determine if it is a W204 or W205.?I would be grateful for your advice.?
The W204 looks completely different and much more dated in all aspects from the W205. If it has nearly the same center console as the one in the video, it's a W205.
Hi Chris. Registered on that date, we'd hope it's the W205 model, which you can see in this review: www.completecar.ie/car-reviews/article/Mercedes-Benz/C-Class/C-Class/205/3704/2014-Mercedes-Benz-C-Class-review.html. Here's the W204 version: www.completecar.ie/car-reviews/article/Mercedes-Benz/C-Class/C-Class_Edition_C/669/3094/2013-Mercedes-Benz-C-Class-Edition-C-review.html. Hope that helps.
Is it quiet if your driving "normal" (Reving to 3.000 rpm at highest etc... ) so does it manage to build a calm, quiet and relaxing atmosphere if your gliding in the c 200?
Correct. This model is a mild hybrid, so it doesn't drive for any distances using only electric power in the way that a Toyota Prius might, for example.
@@sagew7377 sad because the W203 had less wind noise than these new ones. Quality has taken a down turn since then. The W204 had poor build quality and so did this generation. Hopefully the facelift fixed it.
SDav21 yeah, I’m overall very happy with my W205. It’s a great car, with some minor flaws. The wind noise isn’t half as bad as my 4Runner, but I just expected it to be a bit quieter. I’ll live with it because the rest of the car is so good!
We reckon most drivers could get about 7.0 litres/100km depending on their driving style and where the car is driven. Mercedes quotes 6.0 litres/100km on official test cycle.
I had a test drive in one of these. Fuel consumption on a short drive was disappointing. According to the onboard computer the sales rep got 17 mpg while I managed to improve that to 21 mpg. Nowhere near as economical as a Lexus IS.
You do not need a single button on the steering wheel its just nonsense just like most b.s features.Power steering electric windows a/c radio is all you could ever need
Very good review . Well explained . It might be worth mentioning that the engine is essentially sourced from Renault which I think is a shame in view of the car's premium image . Possibly a low mileage second hand C220cdi with 30.000kms (190bhp) would be the best option .
Screen-Size is the same (10.25" for Media) and bigger at the Cockpit (optional 12" C-Class, unfortunaly not in this video, also 10.25" A-Class). The Cockpit is very similar, but the A-Class have the newer MBUX while the C-Class have a new Infotainment, nearly MBUX, but one step before. But much better than before the facelift.
Nice review, the relaxed presenting style is a nice change to the usual review videos.
Thank you for watching
What’s the kmpl of this car?
16.67kmpl officially

It's a mini S class...the w204,was the best looking C class.
My Dad now owns the exact car featured in this video! He purchased it in July 2019. It has been very impressive so far.
Great to hear that he's enjoying it! Small world, eh?!
How did he know it was the car used on the video?
good review with honest feedback
Thank you!
Thank you. Great review

Lag is lag. Bmw is more responsive and a better drive.
@@torrhthc4103 what size engine ?
There isn't any lag in sports+ mode. Only in comfort.
It is NOT a belt driven starter generator. It's an INTEGRATED STARTER GENERATOR. There are no belts.
Great review😇
excellent review, thumb up 👍
Thank you!
Great review!
what you mean by mild hybrid is it mean that there is moderate and more than moderate

Great presentation! Nice and clear with no BS. The only complaint I do have. I think the narrator could be Martin Cahill's illegitimate son.
When the stock headlights look better then the upgrade
How is everything not fully digital yet? My mom has a 2019, everything is fully digital already...
(Talking about the speedo and stuff)
This is an older car now
Nice review. The dash is looking very dated now compared to the rest of the range even the new A class.
We still think it looks good here, but agree that the new A-Class is another. But remember, that car is much newer than the C-Class.

Hello what is one of the greatest online mercedes benz dealership that you perhaps know?☺

2015 then it's definitely a w205
Thank you for your time and trouble to respond, but I am still not convinced it is a w205, how are you so sure.?
The center console is different in my car, there is purely a silver dial and the screen is built into the dashboard, not high level.?
Thank you

Hi Philipp. Yes, it's perfectly calm and relaxed at lower rpm.
Benzin or Diesel ?
This is a petrol MHEV
So question if anyone can help me out, does that mean it's not like an actual hybrid e.g. like a kia niro?
Correct. This model is a mild hybrid, so it doesn't drive for any distances using only electric power in the way that a Toyota Prius might, for example.
Your English is very good
I got this car ! EQ ! Very nice ! Not bad ! But not cheap !
Which way price wise or fuel wise
How is the road/tyre noise on coarse chip bitumen and 100klm/hour? Quiet or intrusive?
Hi Richard,
The low profile tyres do not help the car in that regard. If quietness is a priority then stick with smaller wheels for sure.
My 2015 C300 is pretty quiet until around 70mph, then the wind noise gets annoying if that's any help.

I get 8.5/km but it has run only 2800kms only
Does it have a CD player
Michael Bariana No.
Why amg body on a 1.5 liter ??!!
The AMG Line is a specification trim here, it's not the same body as the Mercedes-AMG version.
Wait, its 2019’now and still not touch screen😏
