i’m still in awe of these background graphics pre rendered or not even today and honestly even the character models were outstanding for this time period zero and 1 remake for gamecube were way ahead of their time, most games weren’t this beautiful for years to come after these.
RE4 could be the best game visually and possibly playability from that generation. The cube was underrated at its time but being able to look back it really was great system
Happy to see a playthrough of this Bawk. The damned hookshot just incites PTSD though, kind of like getting capped by the tyrant in CVX for the first playthrough.
The zombie in the library got up because you stomped that one zombies head in by the gas chamber, the same goes for the crawling one in the morgue room, I learned that from watching carcinogen do a no damage run of this game.
Its cool Bawk. Shit as a kid i never really played any Resident evil. Was too much of a baby. Mind u i was like 6 when re2 came out. I just watched my father play resident evil and silent Hill games religiously. As i got older i got into Resident Evil Outbreak and i was still scared. But i beat it and played the shit outta online. Then went back and with the memory of my dads playthroughs, i beat all the older Resident evil games over the years. Ahhh good times. Anywhoo keep up the great vids. During this Quarantine, these Resident evil vids give me life!!!!
Yea I don’t get the hate for this one. I first played it when I was 25 on wii and since got it for the ps4 and pc I needed up beating it on hard and it was rather difficult, this games locaals are fantastic tho the treatment plant the training facility the train I loved it. I would love for capcom to crank a few newer but the old school stylized games with the puzzle solving fixed camera.
Really? I thought most locations were boring in this game, and it gets worse the more you progress. The train is the best part of the game imo. The rest feel like everything you've already seen in other games, just done worse because of the awful item system and terrible bosses.
I finally downloaded the PS4 digital copy on my PS5. I’m just not feeling it. This is coming from someone who has multiple platinums on the Resident Evil games.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I absolutely love RE0. As a kid, I loved the challenge that u had to control 2 characters.. and I still think it's quite unique. And the graphics.. wow, they looked so amazing back then! And still do on PC imo. Really love to see a Bawk playthrough of it :)
It's an alright game, it just feels like a retread of everything you've seen already so it gets kind of dull. Couple that with the most tedious inventory managent and the shittiest bosses in the classic games and it brings the enjoyment factor significantly. I still like playing it but I'd play any other RE other than maybe 6 (cause it sucks) and CV (cause it's hard af and also kinda tedious)
I've managed to get the platinum trophy for every mainline Resident Evil game on ps4 except for this one, I always heard it was more challenging than the others so it kind of intimidated me. But now that I've got CVX out of the way in addition to 1-8, I figure its time to give this game a shot. I'll probably be referring to this run for the no recovery item and no save runs, very smooth and efficient run, great job Bawk.
Yeah, managed to get the plat. Its definitely been some time but I'd say the biggest hurdles are Leech Hunter, just for the tediousness, and Hard Mode. I honestly lucked out against Queen Leech, I should have died on the last hit but the end cutscene saved me just before she made contact.
Honestly, I would rather have a remake/remaster of this game rather than the RE4 one. This game could've been one of the best RE games if they solved some of its glaring problems (inventory, load times, better shortcuts, nerfing the monkeys...).

I wish they just brought back the item box instead of only giving each character 6 items a piece with shotguns, grenade launchers and other big items (HOOKSHOT!!!!!) taking up two slots. The train was amazing. The training center was a bother. The lab was less fun than other games. It was probably a sold 7 to me. Could be an 8 if it weren't for the crappy item system and the HOOKSHOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Resident evil 0 by far one of my all time favourites and it all just related back to the gamecube and seeing this graphics and this style really come to life. The hook shot i will give u that is a joke and the items pick up was a new way in this game. Beat it at 15 years old but took me weeks. I just loved that the gave rebecca a chance as she was a really loved character i just dont like as they knew it was a prequel that they didnt change the way she acted in 1remake. She went through hell to get to that mansion and then was defenseless again :( if u look at this in relation to 4,5 and 6 it was true horror. Some yanky enemies but all in all as becka is my favourite character hands down its one of the best in the series
Yeah, considering she took down a Tyrant, I would think she wouldn't have that much of a problem with a mere Hunter, which she also dealt with before the mansion. Not to mention, she should be armed to the teeth with weapons by the time she reached the house.

Heres the thing we only see what happens through chris's eyes in resi 1 with rebecca so maybe she does do more. I think 0 leaves it all to ur imagination with 1 that maybe becca just wants to stay quiet and act helpless throughout 1 to stop suspicion on billy as she let him go
The only thing I had a hard time with was the animal statue puzzle, it didn't make sense to me at all. I had to cheat and find the solution and it still didnt make sense to me on why the statues had to be lit in a curtain order

I cant believe this video is 2 years old now. I remember watching it before re8 came out and I also used it to try and help me beat it on hard. Still haven't beat it yet. On the second to last boss and stoped playing it causes I think I didn't have enough ammo . Also I love when he says my names Billy, F*ck it !
Graphics have evolved so freacking fast between 1995 and 2005. This game got released in 2002 and the original version looks so damn good already, compared to the OG RE. Between 2012 and 2022, we clearly didnt see a jump that high in graphics quality. Ray tracing is cool but even the reflections are not too much of a jump compared to well made baked in reflections.
I think this game deserves a remake. There is so much more they can expand upon and fix with this game. It's not one of my favorites but it's also not my least favorite, it's right in the middle. This game has potential to be different then the others, because it chose to do different things. Maybe fixing the companion part or maybe even doing a co-op mode where you and another player play through the game solving puzzles and working together in a way we haven't seen before, because in past games it was just another gun at your side. This game made it challenging to have that extra player you HAD to worry about.
love your take on RE7 brother. I love the first house part of RE7. But i always said it was so pointless and isolated that I find it hard to believe it was always intended to be a RE game. Whether Ethan lived or died or saved Mia, Chris was always going to show up and save the day. It was all just an experience for a VR game. Didnt affect the RE universe one bit.
Re7 was just an attempt to reel the series back from previous games after the series died down. Although the game is quite different than the traditional resident evil, it led to the re2 and 3 remakes, so it's done quite a lot for the series

@@bubblebobbler Such projects don't 'lead to... XY'. These are heavy bugdet projects. They developed a complete new engine to save licensing cost for multiple releases of RE games, new ones and reboots of classics to acutally SELL games of a beloved franchise. Otherwise series would have died.
This was fun to watch and really helped me understand how to beat the game myself. A lot of the times there isnt even a need to fight. I avoided the spiders, ravens, half the zombies, and the slimedude thanks to you. Now I have almost excessive amounts of ammo on Normal. Went from almost no healing/ammo to 4 full heals and 30+ Shotgun shells. Thanks man!
Resident evil 4 is fun because of Drop mechanic and Shop and of course. LEON S. Kennedy. but i dont really feels the survival and horror from that game. you can survive anything there without hesitate about ammo. Resident evil 0 on the other hand..... i mean Rebecca Chamber is cute. and thats it
Coming from a big BIG fan of the franchise: RE7 was/is a pretty good Resident Evil. I don't understand why some people trash it. Just a question of taste, I guess. If you want a real unpopular opinion: I think RE4 is a low tier RE game. I don't hate it, it's even a pretty fun game, but I prefer 1, 2, 3, CVX and even both Revelations better. I don't like the "badass attitude" of Leon, I think the story is really lame, the antagonists (except Krauser) have no charisma, level design is not that good (village is really great, but some parts like the castle is a pain),... I tell you that just to say: no matter what people think, you can enjoy some games over others. That's clearly not a question of "real" or "fake" fan 😉

I honestly think that this game is really good. There's just one thing I don't like about it, and I think nobody does: the absence of item boxes. I always have the main hall like a Diogenes syndrome.

Capcom will sadly not be releasing either re2 or 3 on the ps4, but with the apparent backwards compatibility, you could most definitely get them for the ps5 when it releases.
I haven't seen this game in so long. I might get flamed for this, but I would love to see remakes of all the old games, if not just to bring them to to modern graphic fidelity. It would be cool to see a team dedicated to this, with another team to make new games.

I don't know why people don't like this game, it is one of my favorite RE game. The inventory system sucks, it was better with the boxes, but appart from this, it is a very good RE.
Following this to a T but I have infinite handgun and shotgun ammo plus I change the outfits on Rebecca and Billy so Rebecca is wearing a T-shirt and Billy is wearing a nice suit.
I enjoyed this game but could never beat it. So many road blocks on not knowing where to go with puzzles and the damn Hookshot and no good inventory management made me give up on this game about 20-30 hours in and still couldn't beat it.
funny is everyone saying they never played as a kid i had 0,1,3, and 4 on gamecube and 2 for ps1 and this is the first one i ever beat myself followed by 2,3,1 and then 4 when it first came out

Game Cube had some very pretty games, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 looked amazing as well and still do.

I honestly think that this game is really good. There's just one thing I don't like about it, and I think nobody does: the absence of item boxes. I always have the main hall like a Diogenes syndrome.

Capcom will sadly not be releasing either re2 or 3 on the ps4, but with the apparent backwards compatibility, you could most definitely get them for the ps5 when it releases.

I haven't seen this game in so long. I might get flamed for this, but I would love to see remakes of all the old games, if not just to bring them to to modern graphic fidelity. It would be cool to see a team dedicated to this, with another team to make new games.

I don't know why people don't like this game, it is one of my favorite RE game. The inventory system sucks, it was better with the boxes, but appart from this, it is a very good RE.

I enjoyed this game but could never beat it. So many road blocks on not knowing where to go with puzzles and the damn Hookshot and no good inventory management made me give up on this game about 20-30 hours in and still couldn't beat it.
funny is everyone saying they never played as a kid i had 0,1,3, and 4 on gamecube and 2 for ps1 and this is the first one i ever beat myself followed by 2,3,1 and then 4 when it first came out
