I haven't been able to skate for 2 years and a half... I broke my knee and I´ve been waiting for surgery and when I was supposed to have my surgery they canceled because of coronavirus and now I´m on the waitlist again...
Controlling the rotation my problem with inside edges. My hips are fighting my legs. So frustrating. I always gain very useful insight with the troubleshooting tips. Now if ice arena would only reopen. I'm anxious to try these. It's back to basics for me.
@@IceCoachOnline when I was skating on a regular basis I had my 3 turns consistently except r.f.i. my teacher couldn't figure out what the problem was. She would say " o.k. give it a rest, you've tried it 50 times" I have since found that my right leg/side is shorter. O.k., but why didn't it affect any other turns?. Say my back inside 3's? Tricky besides. One day I did eight in a row. I figured I finally had it. Nope. Next time on the ice I struggled with it again. Duh. BTW that teacher dumped me in frustration. Can't blame her.
I was wondering the same thing! I started doing this (arms opposite leading leg) at the rink and my coach corrected me and told me I needed to have my forward arm match my leading leg for inside edges. So now i'm just extra confused. I do it much better when it's opposite, like the way it's shown in this video.
Yeah, odd. Usually the arms are always "hugging the circle." In this one they only hug the second half of the circle. It's cool the way they change halfway through. The coaches don't make mention of this unexpected starting position, so that's just how it is.

You will have to let me know if the tips in the video help improve your inside edges when the rinks reopen again 🙂

Arn't the arm positions opposite...? Is it different from compulsory?

Can you do a tutorial for backwards as well please?
Yes this is something we'll be doing in the future! Stay tuned!
