People keep saying Diamond is stupid for asking what things meant, but have you considered that he was just doing his job as a host of a KID'S television show? Love Stuart Lee in my adult years but I wouldn't have had a clue what he was on about when this aired and I was 12.
Gamesmaster was a show of which one segment of its demographic was kids, but it was really aimed at the entire spectrum of gamers, being it was the only show of its like on UK terrestrial at the time. A lot of the language used in the reviews and featurettes would have went over kids' heads, too, and some of the guests they had like Tony Robinson, or someone off neighbours wouldn't have been for the kids' benefit.
@UncleKennybobs Imo he's more fun now that he can't form words. "Eremehdaybee, jussoniunyen. Ratayssisunyen, no, nokeenonad. Edderno sumnaykanum, it, uhm, rihonhanow?" "Well, yes, Patrick; in the last few months astronomers in the southern hemisphere have been captivated by Venus."
This is still the only footage in the world of Richard Herring receiving an award.
"he's not a palme d'or judge, he's patrick moore in a hat"
lmao

You've seen them, the games masters, they wear a monocle dont they, on channel 4 in the 90s, you've seen them
An award that Stewart Lee later smashed on TMWRNJ
Jerry Springer the Opera would have been a disaster if Stewart hadn't have had this invaluable directorial experience to fall back on.
It doesn't get more mid 90s than this
It's incredible how great Lee and Herring are on Gamesmaster.
Don't get me wrong, I used to love GM when I was a kid, but they're operating on a higher level than this show. It's quite brilliant.
Very nice clip. I don't think I remember that show, but it was nice to see Lee and Herring looking all young and fresh faced.
'Wireplay' at the end lol...my first ever internet experience was entering a chatroom on wireplay in about 1998 it was thrilling as hell
Pause the video at 10 seconds.
No man has ever looked more like Caroline Quentin, ever.
My fondest childhood memories distilled ito 5 minutes. Ta.
Richard her-wing like a birds wing and Stewart wee like a birds wee on Eggmaster...haha I said egg!
