  • In this video, we're going to be taking a look at the CR-Scan Ferret Pro 3D Scanner. This scanner is a wireless version of the scanner because it has the wireless bridge unit that connects the scanner and the mobile device.
I'll be going over the features of the scanner, how it works, and what you can expect from it.

Thanks . very much Olli. I really like your videos. Very helpful. Is this scanner any good for Gaussion splattings? Cheers and I wish you a good 2024

I appreciate the effort you put into filming and editing this video.
That being said, I feel like I don't have any idea *how* accurate the Ferret is for the primary use-case you said it was good for: mechanical applications.
What sorts of tolerances can it repeatedly get? How does it compare to similar scanners in that price range? What makes it stand out beyond just it's wireless bridge unit?

Specifications of the Ferret scanner says that it can perform 0.16mm resolution or point distance. It is designed to scan medium to large objects, ranging from 15cm to 2 meters. I have no practical experience with other scanners in this price range, but after looking at other reviews, the most significant competitors for the Ferret scanner are: Revopoint and 3DmakerPro. I recommend also checking their features on Google.

I had a faulty ferret. To return it was so dumb. To weeks of emailing. Had to join a discord. Don't deal with them

Is it possible to scan LEGO Pieces? Because I’m trying to 3D scan pieces that didn’t make it into MecaBricks.

Well. This scanner is not very good with a small pieces. Everything under 10 cm long or tall is very hard to scan with this device. But if you have a bigger lego structure it will work, but I would use another method to scan a single part.

@@OlliHuttunen78Thanx for your response. Is there a smaller 3D scanner I could find that would do better at 3D Scanning LEGO pieces in better quality?

Check out 3DMakerPro. Search reviews of their Mole or Seal scanners. They seem to manage smaller objects better.@@Synonymous_Legion

    Nice gadget.
    1) Does the app sends all location data, camera permission, phonebook to china? 2) Does the app allows to work without giving these permissions without internet? 3) Does the scan goes to their server first?

What is the difference between the device sending data with Google to us servers or with creality to China 😉? If you are in doubt on data privacy you had to uninstall the whole Google or Apple ecosystem.
Anyway I scan mostly with the PC and this works also offline.
