One of the songs caught my ear as I've heard it before. A very famous song called Lili Marlene. Here is a translation in English:
      Lilli Marlene
      Underneath the lantern,
      By the barrack gate
      Darling I remember
The way you used to wait
T'was there that you whispered tenderly,
      That you loved me,
      You'd always be,
      My Lilli of the Lamplight,
      My own Lilli Marlene
Time would come for roll call,
      Time for us to part,
      Darling I'd caress you
And press you to my heart,
And there 'neath that far-off lantern light,
      I'd hold you tight ,
      We'd kiss good night,
      My Lilli of the Lamplight,
      My own Lilli Marlene
      Orders came for sailing,
      Somewhere over there
      All confined to barracks
was more than I could bear
I knew you were waiting in the street
      I heard your feet,
      But could not meet,
      My Lilly of the Lamplight,
      my own Lilly Marlene
      Resting in our billets,
      Just behind the lines
      Even tho' we're parted,
Your lips are close to mine
You wait where that lantern softly gleams,
      Your sweet face seems
      To haunt my dreams
      My Lilly of the Lamplight,
      My own Lilly Marlene
      🏜

@sirinathpatel4205 that you for the translation. That has always been one of my favorites as well. I read that the French troops liked it as well. Wouldn't it be nice if, instead of bullets and tanks, we could settle disputes with lyrics and musical instruments?

thats funny, as a freakin lot of successful german musicians and artists were jewish and their music/art was forbidden by the nazi party. So NOT listening to it because of Nazi vibes is kinda ironic.

“Frankly, I’m pretty sure Hitler drank water at one point and I’m not trying to give off Nazi vibes by emulating him so I don’t drink water. Thanks but no thanks, I’m out. 🤓” Goofy ahh logic bro

    •  5 місяців тому +1

@@cosmo9925 Your analogy is hardly, comparable, I'm sure. Goofy logic? I think not, and if you had loved ones that were brutalized, starved and killed by these Germans of that era, you would understand.
