After my first two weeks on etsy, I started to offer free shipping on everything hoping to get ranked higher. But then I was losing money, so I switched to the free shipping over $35. I also added a simple photo card that says free shipping over $35 and I have noticed that many people add more items from your shop to hit that threshold. Thank you for your in-depth videos!
for items like hoodies that already retail for over $35 and have a pretty high shipping cost ($8.50), do u just make those item default to free shipping and add the full shipping cost to the price of the item...raising that $42 hoodie to $51?
@@barefootninja_ I've noticed that the cost of producing a regular hoodie is not far from a crewneck, so i have my "sale" price drop it just below the $35 threshold and charge a flat rate of 4.95...It seems to work well enough to still make money from it. Now my zip ups, I mark up even though it costs the same as a regular hoodie. So they end up paying about $43 when production and shipping through printify costs about $31/$32. Because there aren't a lot of zip ups, I've found customers are still willing to pay that and I'm still making a decent profit.
I find the free shipping option on Etsy to be a contradiction, because to add the shipping cost into your product price makes your price much higher than competitors, so therefore they are more likely to buy a similar product that's cheaper with free shipping from the competitors. Or by adding a partial shipping fee to your product means over time you loose money by covering the partial shipping fee (like you said). Especially if you are often shipping internationally the shipping costs are much more. I have found over the years that I have only lost money and potential sales from using the free shipping option. I also don't think it's fair that Etsy favours free shipping listings in their search engine.
Hey Heather, based on one of your older videos.....which of your products do you order samples of.....and how do you order samples of ones products?..... maybe a video idea for thought
Hi Heather I love your content and your bloopers . I’m embarrassed to say I have .50 conversion rate in my store and I am implementing just about all the techniques you mentioned. Any chance you could have a quick look at my store ? Most of my friends and family say the store looks good but I don’t have the feedback I need . Thanks Andrew
Hi Heather, Thanks for another great video. What do you do about buyers that leave those 3 star reviews for something like " don't know how absorbent this towel will be" even though several other buyers liked the towel? I message them nicely and ask for more info, but they never answer. This kind of review is killing my shop. I stopped selling an kitchen towels because of this. Not worth the risk of a bad review that is mostly just an opinion.
Hi Heather, Not sure if anyone has brought it to your attention yet, but your most recent videos are having an echoing effect with the sound. Not sure if it's a setting or your microphone, but it makes it hard to focus on your content. My other videos come through just fine in sound.
Heather, do you ever double print your shirts to help keep the shirts from soaking up too much of the print? I wondered if this would make the colors look more vibrant and help light colors show up on black shirts.
I have many favorites, about 20% of my listings. Many are repeated several times. None have converted. I have good mockups, run flash sales (24 hr). And offer free shipping. Any suggestions.
I love your videos and thank you for all your work in this community that I’m a total noob. What can I do for traffic, I can’t get any traffic to save my life. I wish you would be willing to review even if 2 or 3 of my listings 🤦♂️. Again you are awesome in your videos and loved your multi listing video
Could you please share your process on pricing shirts printed with swift pod? they have the most colors, so i prefer them for certain items. but prices vary for each size and color ($14+). i dont want to have a different price for every single variation, and with costs this high, its also harder to stay competitive. listing a shirt at $30 seems like a lot. whats the best way to price these?
I use Swiftpod and for Bella Canvas I price mine at $25 I don't do free shipping, I do $3.99 for shipping. I do 15% off and when I am being nice I do 30% off. Profit is between $5 and $9 depending on the sale. Everbee has a free calculator you can use to figure this out. Or you can google etsy calculator.
Hi Heather, Thank you for the video ! my conversation rate is %8.6, and I sell Christmas Ornaments. But right now, I don't sell at all maybe few in a week. Do you think I should sell different items in my store ? Or add more listings (Ornaments) to my store and wait for the christmas ? Thank you !
I am a new etsy seller.. my conversion rate is currently at 33.3% I have no idea how. Its steadily between 15-33% is this right? I don't have a lot of traffic yet but a lot people that view make the purchase. Is that why its so high?
Hi Heather, do you recommend when using mock up the i only use the brand of shirts i am selling? And should I have a picture for each colour shirt i have in each listing? Thank you for your videos.
as a shopper, i definitely want to see the actual style of shirt/clothing im buying. i also really prefer to see how the design will look on each/most of those colors. i know not all people care, but I'd be more inclined to buy if the listing had it.
Keep posting new products. The more you have the better chances of been seen and you'll keep getting better at what you do. You can also try advertising or promoting on social media.
I know this question was for Heather - but I just want to say everyone's journey is different. It's hard when we keep hearing all these people having tons of sales right when they start. Can I ask - how many listings do you have? The more you have the more opportunities for your products to be seen.
@@cindyleinwand5062 Hi, I was up to 100 but then took a lot of them down to redo them. Right now, I'm at about 60. I totally get what you're saying. It is hard to hear how other people are getting sales right away. Makes me feel like what am I doing wrong?!
