@@birdistheword1327 to keep the cost down. Marine grease is perfectly fine to fill up the diff. You dont need anything special like expensive rc diff fluid. Trust me on this.
Excellent video! I just bought the WLTOYS 124016, it literally lasted me 1 minute and broke the front suspension tower. It's EXTREMELY FAST (and a bit fragile)
yup, did you see my first ride with this? ua-cam.com/video/631-vFL93aE/v-deo.html I broke the rear knuckle after cart-wheeling. Eventually, I changed to metal knuckles for the WLToys but still keep the suspension arms plastic though. You should NEVER change the arm to metal.
@@birdistheword1327 u mean arm to metal? You need it to be a bit flexible. Metal arm is never good in term of handling. The knuckle is ok though. I did a video about it.
Perfect this is the video I really needed to see, as I have just got this rc buggy and on first day very first go a have done something to back drive, they are making a bit of a grinding noise and not good traction but still 4 wheels spin off floor but on floor back wheels very little traction. A think a have stripped a gear that go's into diff from drive shaft. A have body off just needed to strip rest down in have look. Am going to upgrade to all metal diff and gears wile am at it. May as well since am stripping car down. Hope I put all the difference size screws in right place 😂. Wish me luck. 😅
So did you strip the gear.? I doubt it though. I have broken the wheel axial using 3s battery runing in water but never stripped the gear. 😆 i find it best using marine grease with this cheap rc. If you use fluid, make sure it's sealed otherwise the fluid is just spun off the diff. Too thick fluid is not good either. Anyways, tube of marine grease will last long time. Best of luck!
Hello. the video helped me. Which oil should I use for the shock absorbers on a 1/12 WLtoys buggy? how much cst? 40,000 cst? isn't that too thick? what does 80 weight mean which some people use for the shock absorbers? Greetings.
Hi, I also have the 124016 and when I roll the rear wheels on the ground and hold the front in the air, only the front left wheel turns. The axle/dog bone for that wheel is also not turning. How can I fix this?
@@lavithhcm thanks for the response. I am a beginner to rc cars and would not like to break the car further as I have just recently bought it. The car still runs fine with this issue so I would just like to know if going without a service would cause further issues for the car or if it would be fine to leave it :)
@@Xbot4Life 😄 yes grease with marine grease. I find it very consistent with stock grease that came with it. Besides, it is extremely cheap at auto part store. No need for fancy stuff.
@@lavithhcm Thank you, i already got a tube of Lucas White Lithium Grease so once that is finished, ill try marine grease. If you have a 124008, please do diffs on that as taking it apart seems different to the others so i cant find a guide on doing that model. Thank you.
Very detailed! Pretty dramatic music though 😉
I like the music it brought me peace during a stressful procedure lol
Thanks for the video,. I lost drive to the front wheels today, probably the differential. I have another on the way

@@lavithhcm perfect because I have some "red n tacky" that should do the trick
Very details instructions how to open this wltoys rc car. Thank you! U dman ❤

Thanks buddy!! 👍

@@lavithhcmwhy not change to metal? Other than it being a bit heavier

Hello, I have a Wltoys 104016. Could you make a video showing how to grease the differential? Thanks!
I think i did.

yeah 40,000cst is too thick and it might blow the seals.

It means there is binding on the front diff. Serivce it.

Hold on!! you only did the rear diff? What about the front?
Very similar!
@@lavithhcm yeah it is, was wondering why you only did one. Was the other greased?

Thus the problem with selling pre-assembled cars these days. When you had to build them you knew everything about them.
